Overall Resort Rating:
Alpbach is a delightful village and suitable for beginners and intermediates, or like us, skiers for many years who prefer to take things a bit easier now, but do not wish to abandon the sport altogether. The lifts were not crowded and the mountain restaurants were Tyrolean and jolly. Xanders Ski hire and the Boglerlift baby slope were a 2 minute walk from the hotel; the bus stop for Inneralpbach gondola and Wiedersberghorn gondola stopped in front of Xanders Ski hire, so it was easy to get to the slopes in just a few minutes. The ski bus was free with your ski pass.

"walkers paradise"

If you are a walker' then this is quite a good place to visit in spring or summer when all the skiers have gone and there is peace and tranquility. Don't be put off by the other reviews. This place is really a walkers paradise providing you have the right footwear' clothing and equipment. Some of the walks are quite steep so its not the place for young childre or the elderly or infirm.

We love it in Alpbach and return here frequently. In winter its really bustling and vibrant, in summer its quiet and peaceful with good walking and cycling. Bliss!
