We stayed at Haus Patricia on a Bed and Breakfast basis in June 05 and had a fantastic time. The views from the balcony were outstanding. Swimming Pool, restaurants, cable cars, canoing, bike hire were all on the doorstep. Walking and biking trails were fantastic (best kept and signposted routes we have ever used). It was one of my best holidays ever and such fantastic value for money, I just can't wait to return.

The rooms were spotlessly clean. Food was excellent and plenty of it. Most of the bedrooms have a balcony, which have great views of the mountains (snow still on the top in June). Transfers can be arranged from the airport, which were good value for money.

Amanda and Richard are excellent hosts and will provide plenty of helpful advice as to where to go, how to get there and save you money in the process.

Staying at Haus Patricia gets you unlimited access to the lower cable car ride (closed a couple of days a week) and entry to local gorge walks and swimming pools (indoor and outdoor).

Lofer is a lovely quiet mountain village, with friendly people and wonderful views. The location is brilliant and being on the main route from Salzburg to Zell am See, you have no problem getting to many of the tourist attractions the area has to offer, but the beauty of the valley, river, mountain streams and the picturesque mountains will keep you occupied for most of your holiday as they are all accessible using those well maintained bike and walking paths.

The area is so green and fresh that you will not want to leave. In fact if you like mountain scenery this one is a must. If you take the cable car up to the middle station, you can pay 5 euros per person to go up to the top end in a minibus and when ready to walk back, take the waterfall footpath to the cable car station (1 1/2 hours) for the most fantastic views. Beware! Your ears may pop when you get back off the cable car ride.

Give Haus Patricia a try, you will not be dissappointed.
