Saalbach is a pretty mainly pedestrianised village with plenty of activities close at hand - two cable cars within walking distance so easy access to skiing in the winter and extensive walking in summer, an open-air swimming pool, mini-golf, two supermarkets and a small number of clothes, gift and souvenier shops.

Saalbach is a lovely place to visit both in Summer and Winter. The hotels up the main street are very attractive, particularly during summer when the flowers are in bloom. We found it a lot quieter in summer than during the Winter ski season, with many of the bars closing around 10pm. There is an abundance of walking available in the area, with lovely mountain restaurants to stop at enroute. There are also a lot of opportunities for mountain biking. During the Summer there are four lifts open in Saalbach and Hinterglemm, from where you can explore virtually everywhere. There is also a very good bus service along the valley, and beyond to the town of Zell am See.

Lots to see and do it was one of the best ski holidays we've had in a few years would definately recommend it to others. A few different variety of ski courses and snowboarding available to keep the kids amused!

Amazing ski resort. Best family vacation and the kids really enjoyed the skiing experience. Can not get a more beautiful location for a holiday anywhere in my opinion.

Saalbach is just gorgeous - it's probably much busier and livelier in the skiing season which it's very geared up for, with all the lifts / cablecars and ski shops. But we were there in the summer when there's not many people about - it looks lovely as there are flowers everywhere. Great location for miles of hiking / walking routes nearby and very near to the lake resort of Zell am See which is well worth seeing.
