We had booked a cheap deal (only £40 each return) with PandO ferries, from Hull. The hotel was booked seperately
The ferry booking included a return coach ticket into Brugge, which took about 20 mins from the port of Zebbruge.
Hotel was very easy to find but if you get lost there are so many friendly people willing to help you out with anything you want.
Our room was a twin, which was very clean with a nice little bathroom. My only gripe was the fact that it did not have any tea/coffee making facilities in, which for a 4* we were really expecting.
Breakfast was included in the price of our room (rm cost us £92 for the night)
Plenty of choice for breakfast, which was from 7am - 10am.
The bar area was very nice and the guy behind the bar in the evenings had us in stitches, really friendly.
Check out, for us was 11am, as we were not getting picked up for the ferry home until 17.30pm, the hotel let us keep our bags in the luggage room, which enabled us to go do some last minute shopping in the lovely chocolate shops.
If you love chocolate, like me (and most women!) You will love Brugge!!! Its chocolate heaven...
The christmas markets are nothing to shout about, but the atmosphere is lovely in the main square. There is an ice rink, which looks so magical when it is all lit up in the evening time. Make sure you take winter woolies with you, when we were there it was blooming freezing (well it was december!)
There are so many shops and museums, you dont know where to go first.
We wandered for miles, getting lost down little side streets, which was all part of the fun.
A must, is trying the chips and mayonnaise from the stalls in the market sqares. Delicious!!!!!!!!
The drinks and food are VERY expensive in the main square,(I have lived in Venice, so know to go away from tourist areas and find a place a few streets back from the main areas)
We found a lovely place to eat, which did the most amazing steaks (I think it was called the Chicken Inn) The steak melted in my mouth... YUM!!
All in all, a fantastic girly weekend, plenty to keep us occupied for 2 days and even came back with some money (unheard of on any of my other shopping trips)
Brugge is a lovely city and well worth the trip. I would love to go back in Summer.
Enjoy
