What a wonderful city/town, the people are kind, polite and helpful, the buildings are incredible, we're not academics or architects but u won't believe the craftsmanship and detail thats gone into these buildings, with the canals as a perfect backdrop adding to the charming Bavarian like chitty bang bang atmosphere. Truly a must for creative souls with evidence of craft everywhere.
Must be 100 restaurants, mostly the same as british prices but if u walk around u will find some v.good bargains, like the coffee link cafe at the side of st. jans memlings hospital museum and down the tunnel. Our accomodation was nice too, not stayed in a chain like Novotel b4 but would recommend them, v.clean, polite staff, good variety for b'fast, family room and adequate warm bedding.
Would like to go back in the spring/summer though as Feb windchill v.cold. Hat and gloves advised. Well done Brugge...
