What can I say? A fantastic holiday - Went on the 5 day tour of Rio De Janeiro and Iguassu Falls followed by 9 days at the Super Club Breezes on the Costa do Sauipe with Fist Choice.
All the local reps were very attentive and friendly, the sights of Christ the redeemer and Sugar loaf mountain in Rio were superb, although it was misty when we were at Christ the redeemer which somewhat spoiled the views.
Iguassu Falls are just the most spectacular sight you can imagine, we took the optional tour into Argentina to see the Argentinian side of the falls, and they are more spectacular still, well worth the extra.
Also, take the river boat excursion through the falls, it is so exciting, although be prepared to be drenched to the skin!

Super Club breezes is superb, great food of every kind imaginable, you can eat great steaks every day if you wish, fantastic selection of meats, fish, salads and the desserts are to die for!
Entertainment is fantastic, the staff are so efficient and friendly and the rooms great, especially the forest view ones from which you can watch monkeys, birds and lizards come out of the forest to forage for food.
The Brazilians are the friendliest people I have come across, the country is beautiful with unspoilt beaches on which you feel like Robinson Crusoe and ecellent standards.

If you haven`t been yet, go now before it is overdeveloped - it`s fantastic!

Just returned from Brazil having had a great time. Flew with first choice and the extra legroom that they advertise is very good. On arrival at Salvador we were taken to the complex and we had a Police escort. The rep didnt know why and she said it wasnt the normal thing. The journey was about 1.20 minutes.
Checking in procedure was excellent and the staff very efficient.

The rooms were clean and large enough. We had two double beds. Soft drinks in the fridge were very welcome. They are also part of the All Inclusive package.

The food at the hotel was fine. The buffet restaurant was the usual type of food. There was always Steaks, Chicken and Pork for those that dont want to try the local food. The three restaurants Japanese. Pastafari and Market Place require bookings. While we were there people were getting additional cards to enable bookings from reception. They dont seem to mind. The meals in these restaurants were very good.

The beach is fine but the sea was very rough and the red flag was flying during our entire stay. Some people went into the sea but it did appear to be dangerous. The beach to the left as you walk out of the hotel has nothing on it the further you walk. Turn right and a walk of about 30 minutes is a small village.

Around the pool we didnt have any problems with sunbeds but some people did place towels on the sunbeds and not turn up at the pool until afternoon. Having said this there always seemed to be enough sunbeds available.

The hotel complex is kept very clean and the staff never stop smiling. They are very helpful and trying to learn English.

Outside the hotel, you can have a 1/2 hour riding lesson free. This was great fun. If you want to go for a longer ride then you have to pay. The same for the nautical centre. As you leave reception the buses around the complex are free as are the horse and carriage. A small village is a 5 minute walk and has bars shops, bank and chemist.

The down side to this hotel is the entertainment and bars. Just before we left for the hotel we received a letter informing us that children 14 and under were not allowed in certain bars, They could not visit restaurants after 9pm. They were not entitled to horse riding unless they paid.

While this didnt bother us the families were left to sit in very uncomfortable areas with no entertainment. What entertainment there was didnt start until after 11pm and lasted about one hour. This consisted of a man with a guitar, Bingo! and Karaoke. The entertainment staff did a show after 9pm. The kids had a disco at 8.30pm. They did the same shows each week. The circus show was worth seeing.

Although there are other seating areas with bars the only decent place to sit was the Piano Bar, but again no entertainment, other than DVD's of the Bee Gees etc. It would have been nice to have some different entertainment. The staff were very good and did their best.

If you want a nice quiet holiday and go to bed a 10pm each night then this hotel is for you.

Having had said this the hotel is very good and clean. The food is fine. Just dont go expecting to have a wild time.

We left in May 2006, rainy season i know but out of 14 days we only had 2 days of rain so you cant really complain.

We picked this hotel mainly because it does a wedding service. Our wedding day was fantastic, great weather, it took place out in the gardens. The hotel did such a good job.

This hotel is all inclusive and it definately is that. Everything is included, horse riding, tennis, bikes etc etc.

The rooms are nice and airy, with either 2 double beds or a queen size, air conditioning and a mini-bar which is also all-inclusive.

The food, my god. everything you could possibly want. steak, pizza, chinese, japanese, italian. something differnt every night.

Just go that is all i can say

We recently returned from the holiday of a lifetime in Brazil and I just had to share some of our experiences.

We arrived after a long flight (14 hours) with Varig airlines which wasn't too bad, the service was really good and we pre booked our tickets so we had 2 seats on their own, well worth it. We got to Rio and had booked into Ipanema Plaza which is 5 star, it was a beautiful hotel and only 1 block from Ipanema beach. Everything about it was great, the decor, the staff, the restaurant and we had marvellous views of the beach and Corcovado where Christ the Redeemerlooks over the city.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants, the best being around the Ipanema and Leblon areas. Copacabana is lovely but quite touristy and there can be quite a few beggars around. We had heard dodgey stories about Rio being unsafe but the beach is flood lit at night and there are always quite a few police around, I didn't feel threatened once. There are also a million cabs which are so cheap, just a couple of quid a ride so you really don't have to be wandering around anyway.

There are so many things to do, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer to name but a few. We also went to Iguassu Falls, a 3 hour plane journey away but definately worth it, I have never seen anything so beautiful. Then we went to the Amazon, that was a 5 hour plane ride and although we really did enjoy it there isn't really much to see when you get there, it takes up quite a chunck of your trip, plus we got eaten alive so make sure you get all the right jabs. After there we returned to Rio for a few nights and stayed in the Marina palace Hotel on Leblon beach, we tried to get back in the Ipanema Plaza but it was full. Anyway the Marina is nice, only a four star but it was clean and the staff were helpful - it could probably do with a bit of a make-over as the decor was a little dated but it was comfortable.

All in all I would thoroughly recommend Brazil, I have to say I have been around the world and I have never met such warm, friendly wonderful people in my life, they would do anything to help you. I'm looking forward to going back one day.
