The problem with this hotel that it is in a very windy location making eating and drinking very uncomfortable.
We knew it was a basic hotel and rooms were roomy and kept clean with fresh sheets and towels supplied every day with only two minor faults as the A/C was directly placed above the top of the bed and no remote control for the tv.
Food was hit and miss with breakfast surprisingly reasonable, but trying to order drinks or food could be trying at times and staff looked apprehensive in dealing with british tourists <resort only come online late november for the uk> and it would be disapointing to come back from a evening out and not be able to sit down in comfort and have a few late night drinks but when you see plastic chairs gliding past you it was like a scene from the excorcist!
Basically we picked the wrong hotel and would have prefered a location closer to ponta negra even thou we did ask for a move but to no avail.

Ponta negra beach is a vibrant and busy beach and we would use the sunloungers opposite the imagine bar as the chaps who ran the beach service were very good and could be identified by the blue and white colour umbrellas with R17 painted on the canvas, they more or less sell anything on the beach from cocktails to different kinds of food and the cocktails and crepes went down very nicely, there are carts going up and down all day blasting music so dont expect a relaxing time but its well worth a visit just for the experience alone.

Three restaurants i can recommend on the front at ponta negra is la belle napoli and on the coast road from our hotel is a bit upmarket restaurant called guinga well worth a visit and also a decent chinese named fat sams on the road to natal from the coast road just past the first shopping centre heading in towards natal.
Also on a wendnesday ask for the salsa bar where you will find a street full of bars and for some unknown reason packed on a wednesday evening also friday and saturday.

Trying to exchange money can be difficult luckily for us we had american dollars and sterling but my friend had sterling travellers cheques and had to rely on thomsons supplying a money man twice a weel to exchange money.

Overall a bit disapointed with natal as the hotel location did not help and will be interesting to see if this area takes off as i feel its got a long way to go and say i would go back but would not rush to go back.
