This resort offers just about everything you would expect of a ski resort, the locals are friendly, good slection of ski runs to suit all abilities. Lots of places to eat we did have a 4* hotel on half board basis, the food was just not ediable so we ate out every night in the local resturants which were super. So the best advice I can give you is stay away from the Hotel Samokov's food, a London soup kitchen has more to offer!!!!!

Our first Christmas away yipee - So we thought booking a 4* hotel we could be sure that we would receive good food even though it may be basic we were prepared to be flexiable. The food and I refer to ALL FOOD was cold whether it be breakfast or dinner, we found hairs in the food, never enough cups for tea/coffee in the morning this too was always cold. The staff are personatily free and a little hostile, and we felt that as we approached the bar it was all too much effort to be served, definately not service with a smile!!!! We as a family would never stay at this hotel again

my husband myself and our two children stayed here august 2008 our room was at the front of the hotel directly opposite the VERY loud night clubs.(take ear plugs) we booked a family room which was a good size.i dobelieve the other rooms were very small though. the maids clean endlessly and the hotel is well kept. the food is not great a bit monotonous after a few days but its okay not much good for fussy kids though. the pool area is great. but you do have to que for drinks. and the afternnoon snacks were pretty poor and gone within the hour which only left the icecream. for the price of the holiday the hotel is passable iwouldnt stay here again though and the mainbig problem bein the music from the nightclubs. its just impossible to sleep until youget to the point of tears and exhaution. everythin else was not great but okay.

A quaint village 15mins from Bansko. Would be nice to explore during summer but as we were there for the boarding then we didnt look around.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel just after it opened in December 2007. The taverna was a traditional bulgarian style and while it catered the English tourists it was nice to see some locals enjoying the food (which is always a good sign!). The hotel is a small hotel and the owners were always willing to help. It was nice to be out of the tourist trap of Bansko (and the prices), but close enough to the ski-fields. Its about 10-15mins to the bottom of the Gondola and we got a ride there and back daily. Best to buy a weekly lift pass and make sure you return the plastic card for its refund. The hotel has a good selection of local wines and spirits...make sure you try the Rikia (fire water) which is garunteed to warm you up after a day on the slopes ;-)

Overall resort - reasonable. Although the PR's get annoying. Beaches - Beach goes on for a mile or 2. Busy, but reasonably clean. Acouple of activities like crazy golf, beach volley ball etc, Cost of F/D - risen compared to last yr & yr before. Almost UK prices in main bars along promanarde. Eating out - to be honest, didnt try much. A bar called The Cat opposite promorie didnt serve very good food. MC'D's & KFC's everywhere... :) Nightlife - Disco Orange 10/10 Club Lazur 7/10. Both play a huge variety of music but the atmosphere was loads better in Disco Orange even though it is a 10 minute walk or few mins in a rip off taxi ride. Lazur is opposite hotel promorie.... take your pick. We were in Orange every night though. Things to see/do - We wandered aroung nursing hangovers for most of the time although we did make sure we checked out all the other hotels along the front. If you have afew bob, get to Victoria Palace, Dam that place is nice.

Right, flirstly I agree with everything commented on the last few reviews Ive read. The food was awful (simple, dont go all inc..) Yes the club is 'bangin' till 6 in the morning but if you are a go'er you'll love it. Club Lazur & Disco Orange were 2 of the best clubs Ive been too. Music was excellent, reasonable priced drinks and for the lads, plenty of women.

I thoroughly understand where the couples and families are coming from with their comments on the hotel. There is 1 lobby toilet for the few hundred occupants, personally the only time I spent in the hotel was nursing a hangover and walking from my room to the exit. As said the food is bad but for you fast food junkies theres Maccies and KFC's all over the place. Also, if you were all inc you could only use 1 designated bar for all inc customers. This is changing in '09 I believe from the staff I spoke to their and including the pool bar.

Thats another thing, the staff are useless. Do not know an ounce of english and could not give a care in the world about anything, but jeeeez, I paid £250 for a wk, went with 2 other mates and had a cracking time.

End of the day you have to make the most of a bad place, which we did. Down the promonarde there is a hotel called Victoria Palace. It looks like a palace too! And once we all surfaced in the morn/afternoon we grabbed our towels and wandered down to victoria palace. No quesions asked, we just walked straight in, towels on bed and caught some rays. Whats the worst they could say.... ask us to leave ... which they never so we made the most of it!

Yes there is no air con in promorie, which is bad especially in hot season so always make sure you have a bottle of water handy at the bedside.

Will definately be going back next year for a wk on the ale, cant fault it. Although the prices have gone up compared to a yr or 2 ago. Remember though, its not just the accomodation, or the weather, or who you meet but the company you go with, dont think I could of gone with some better guys. Was a right laff and obviously made it better than what it possibly could of/should of been. Finally just incase if Diana (bulgarian), Jen(Irish), The Finish & Swedish birds read this, you also made the holiday what it was ! :-)

this was the 3rd time we went to bulgaria and stayed in hotel pomorie when the hotel was bed and brekfast it was exellent but now it has gone to all inslusive its got worse you can only get free drinks in one bar the food is rubbish that ment me and my family had to eat out more which cost us more money but because we had been there whilst it was bed and brekfast the staff were very friendly but the all inclusive had made the staff ignorent and this is only because they are not makeing any money ALL INCLUSIVE HAD RUINED THIS HOTEL

Balkan airway was an eye open, no in flight entertainment & the food to say was basic is an under statement, I suggest you take your our food.

The Hotel Gardia is not in walking distance of Golden Sands, you must catch a taxi or bus. You can walk to St Constantine which is approx 2 miles away and worth a visit, day or night, with nice restaurants and a lovely walk through gardens with market stalls along the way, very pretty. The hotel location is it's biggest draw back, at the top of a very steep hill with a steep walk to the beach, however there are cable carts to and from the beach, when they are working. The pool is much too small approx 3m x 2m with only enough room for 10 sun beds. This hotel is in a run down area and not suitable for families or any one with any disability. Please ensure you take a torch as there's no street lighting in this area and the roads/tracks are very uneven in places. The beds were very hard and not made every day. Drinks and food were expensive in the hotel compared to other restuarants in the area. Remember to check your change when eating or drinking at the hotel!! Air conn very noisy. We went BB, the beakfast was very repetative but adequate however if you like a cup of normal tea I suggest you take your own, they only do herbal. Some of the staff were not up to the job but the others were ok. We went mid Sept the weather for the first week was excellent but the 2nd week was very cold and everything closed down, you needed a coat trust me (this seems the norm for Sept, we didn't know hence the frostbite, only kidding but we were very cold). On the first week we had intruption to the water supply no water Friday evening, Sat morning, Mon morning, Mon evening, Tues morning & Tues evening we were supplied with a big bottle of water to wash with. We were on the top floor and when the wind picked up we got no sleep at all as something was loose on the roof which made a racket (make sure you ask for a room on the bottom or middle floor!!). Check where your flying to as it's a long drag from Burgass Airport (2 hours) I can't understand why they don't fly direct to Varna which is a short drive away! Positives; met some really nice guests at the hotel, excellent view from room, spacious and clean, beach ok, cheap, quiet and relaxing. Golden sands nice resort very clean and well kept but very commercialised. Not sure what Bulgaria is about, no disrespect but we wont return.

The Resort is full of night clubs and i mean loads !!! and there are loads of great day trips, eg. nessebar, you got to got there it is great!

I stayed at Hotel Pomorie from the 14 of aug to the 28th aug 2008, i am a young girl and went with my parent and they thought it was horriable but i loved it, oh and i have to say this for my friend i mde there...the entertainment is brilliant.the food not that good,eg. cold. but the location of the hotel i think made up for it and the pool is very clean and think it is great for kids as there are load there. but there is a few forrighn people there,so when sunbathing you might get stared at,dont know why but the russian peope did tht to me and a few people as our friends we made there said the same.

We stayed at this hotel Oct 2008; it is by far the worst establishment we have ever had the unfortunate luck to endure. The staffs were, with the exception of snug room, unhelpful, ignorant & regimented. The ambiance of the hotel is best compared to 1960's works canteen. As for the food what can one say when you need a microwave to heat before you eat! What was served appeared to be left over slops not suitable for international clientele. We strongly recommend that avoid this hotel at all cost, we were all inclusive & had to eat out. Haj & Denise Singh
