The beach is lovely and clean but sunbeds & umberellas are pricey - approx 7 lev for a bed which is approx £3.50. There is a huge variety of entertainment within Golden Sands suitable for everyone. The resport is purpose built and they have literally thought of everything for the holiday maker from bungee jumps to photos with snakes. There are a lot of "pr" people who constantly approach you which can be annoying. There is also a little train that runs down the strip that costs 6 lev per person but you do have to pay twice if you want to travel to the end of the strip. Most restaurants have toilets but you do have to pay - usually about 1 lev. We went on 2 trips that we booked through the tour operator - Aquapolis is a small water park at the top of the resort. You pay by height of children and not age. Children over 1.2 metres pay adult prices. You are able to catch regular free minibuses around the resort that take you direct to the park which is useful. You also have to pay for sunbeds here. We also did the 24 hour city tour to varna which we enjoyed. There are 4 bus stops around Golden sands and a double decker bus takes you to various places of interest in varna and you can hop on and off as you please. Overall we really enjoyed the holiday and we met some lovely people and would definitely recommend Bendita Mare & Golden Sands.

Sunny beach is well over priced for Drinks and Food, all the shops sell all the same things, once you have seen one shop you seen them all,we found the locals to be very unfriendly and ignorant ,for the resort it needs a damn good clean there is rubbish lying all over the place you look. Organised chaos when it comes to them trying to organise anything.

Sunny Beach review
"Not suitable for young children"
resort to a friend
The resort was very busy and lively. Plenty of shops bars and restaurants. Lots of entertainment However i felt the resort to be very seedy. most of the bars had half naked girls dancing on the bars. There were also lots of sex shops and strip bars. The restaurants and entertainment would actually be perfect for young children but being able to have a quiet drink afterwards is limited with the "go go girls".
Many clubs with cheap drinks and good music. The resort is perfect for teenagers and people who like to party because there is always something to do.
there are lots of excursions including an aquapark which is resonably prices and not far away from the resort.. great fun.

When we first came out of the rear of our hotel and stumbled upon sunny beach we were just amazed, all the stalls, hotels, and eating places - fabulous! Again lots of choice in everything. My son who is 21 particuarly enjoyed the karaoke bars as he loves singing and hopes to take it up as a career so all good practice as well as great fun. Again all the people were friendly and we all felt perfectly safe, even I walked along the front alone one evening/early morning.

A quiet resort by day. Ideal for families. 2 Water parks nearby. You can get free bus to these from the main road. The water park at Nessebar is by far more superior than the Sunny beach one. By nite the resort comes alive and party central opens. By nite I mean the early hours so families do not get put off by this. The beaches are excellent and clean. One down side is the price of sunbeds on the beach 14 Lv = £7 each. Food and drink in the resort is very cheap, stay away from beach front resorts as the prices are alot higher. Good bar to visit for all ages central bar on Flower street (road leading to peir)

"who would enjoy Bulgaria"
resort to a friend
I found the resort excellent and i was glad we booked for two weeks as one would not be enough. The locals are very friendly and hospitable. Sunny beach was clean and packed with things to see and do. Whatever your age there is something for you to enjoy in Bulgaria and sunny beach is a fantastic place for all ages.

Sunny Beach was a good resort, first time in Bulgaria but because of that place can see us going back every year, the new Spain! It was pretty cheap really, took as much cash as we would when we visit Spain but bought much more and still changed a whole load back!

The resort was very bright and busy and fun and friendly. Lots of little shops selling the same stock but we like shops so that wasn't a problem. Lots of bars some with a very "adult" theme so we just kept clear of those. The Restaurants were lovely and good food. This was the first holiday I can remember NOT having any tummy troubles! I was pleased that our apartment hotel was not in the centre but not too far away from the shops either. Opposite Golden Dreams is a very well stocked Supermarket and was very reasonably priced. Lovely cakes to have as dessert on the way home!!! On the whole great all round.

Sofia is a nice pleasant city, that has a good selection of value restaurants and some very good ones at a low price. There are free museums in Sofia to visit, as well as the market which is also interesting. It also serves tourists who want to visit other parts of Eastern Europe very well. What lets the place down is that it is quite a poor country but there are signs of prosperity and improving living standards. I liked that in Sofia almost everything was within walking distance. Main roads include Makedonia Boulevard and a trip to Sofia is not complete without making a visit to the Mall of Sofia which is very close to the Hostel Mostel.

Albena is actually quite lively. Loads of good bars and a few clubs too, which we did go to. It maybe isn’t as cheap as we thought it would but still good value compared to the UK.

I felt the resort was very apt for the holiday. There wer plenty of bars and eating places at very reasonable prices. I could believe how little money they charged for a full 3 course meal. Me and my boyfriend ate in the Italian Restaurant Bianco a few times and it was amazing. 60 lev for a 3 course meal for two plus 1 drink each... now thats value for money £42 in GBP. Although the resort was very commercialised there was lots to do in the evening whther you want to chill out in a karaoke bar or go on a bungee jump it seemed to cater for all ages. The only down side is that this cuntry is very poor and some of the buildings does reflect this. Overall I have a great holiday at this resort with my boyfriend.

the resort is a shoppers paradise and definately worth a look. if you love to party then u are in the right town as this place was built for the purpose of partying. the worst bit about the resort was the price you had to pay for sun loungers and parasols and if you didnt use them you were hustled to the back of the beach out of the way. the other thing was there are people on the strip with snakes round their necks trying to get you to get your photo taken with it, just a little warning if you dont like snakes. the resort is a really nice place. if you like something different then take a trip into nessibar the next town just take the bus it only costs 1 lev per person its well worth a day out. try the aqua park as well great for the kids even the big ones too like my husband .

As a all inclusive hotel we would not recommended it.. far to expensive you have to pay for the sun beds and parasol at the water park, we were not supplied with beach towels. i would not rate this as a 4 star hotel.

Sunny Beach review
"NO! NO! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
resort to a friend
If you want a very busy resort then go for it!!!! If however you wanted a relaxing holiday where you could have a good time, a good drink and know that the kids are safe then this s not the place for you!!!!!! We arrived to a storm and power cut which lasted 5hrs after we got there. The resort is full of gypsies and thieves. You cannot walk along the main strip unless you have your wits about you and if you have kids you need to keep them very close by. On a better note, we visited elenite and it was a world away from sunny beach in terms of standard of hotel and atmosphere. Would I go back to bulgaria? Maybe in a few years but I most definately will never ever set foot in sunny beach again

A purpose-built holiday resort which includes three hotels and a holiday village, a well-staffed medical facility and one beach shop. Our hotel was all inclusive as I think the others were, so there was no need to find alternative eating places, which in any case would have been at least a 15 minute taxi ride away to the nearest village. It is a fair way from a major town, so it would not be suitable for people looking for night-life or clubbing. (There wasn't any, apart from the hotels' own entertainment programmes.) But a wonderful place for a warm sunny beach holiday for families or peace-loving couples. All the little children in the hotel were happy and seemed to enjoy the food as much as their parents. Excellent beach for sandcastles, too!
