we went to this hotel in aug 07... it was the worst holiday we have ever had.. all of our party got ill due to, power cuts ever day, food being de-frosted and then refrozen..................... best part was the compensation paid out by first choice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my advice is don't go in high season, it is overcrowded by money grabbing managment...............

Just returned and very glad to be home.
I have some positive comments i.e the Beach, water park (have to pay for sun-beds 5lev each and 5lev brolly). But unfortunaley most of every thing else was a let down. Booked sea view never got it (loads did'nt) but could'nt change you for 5 days. so gave up as we did'nt want to live out of a suitcase. No plugs for bathroom, even when we got one from the cleaner it did'nt fit. The cleaners are very good and work hard but you would if you were constantley watched by a Supervisor.
The sofa bed was broken and after complaining 3 times inc. to the rep nothing was done so had to find rocks of the beach to prop it up so it could be used. The food was poor, much of it frozen veg soggy chips and poor meat dishes (salad was good). Meat dishes included rabbit, gizzerds and offal. Puddings were the same every day, tinned fruit and sponge cream cakes.
The lifts were so slow (we were on the 8th floor) that you dreaded it every time u had to use them.
At least two people we met where very ill and ended up on drips and the doctors said it was the pool.
Some of the professional entertainment u had to pay for 35lev each (not all inc.).
U had to buy your own water (first 4 star hotel i've ever know that).
Unfortunately i think this hotel has been built too big for the restaurant or the bar. The queues were very long for both and if you wanted a drink with your meal queuing for both was very frustrating, and then queuing again to get a drink in the lobby.I'm sorry but with the best will in the world i can not recommend this as a 4 star hotel. 2star yes, it is very clean but services could be so much better.
Bulgaria itself is very nice.

Just returned after another Group Holiday with our friends from the North and the West.
First I'll start with the Moans.
Food - Main restaurant - Very Poor, albiet a big selection it all tastes the same (bland, aint they heard of spices !!) Two other restaurants on site they you have to book (need to queue in the morning for over an hour to get your name down) again same food little choice for the kids.
The smell from the main restaurant will remind you of stewed veggies from your old school canteen !!
Resort - Don't go in half term, too many rooms = too many people and if you want a drink in the evening prepare to queue (however a 5lev tip to a waiter goes some way to never having to queue.
Sunbeds by pool - If you want one prepare to put your towel down at 7am to stand a chance.
Entertainment - Mini disco = Only 4 songs !!!
Nightclub for the older clubs - Bouncers couldn't control and saw a number of drunken parents (and children) arguing with fights breaking out.
Now the good points.
Food - Theres a BBQ restaurant (need to queue to book) but food a lot better and makes a change from the hotel.
Also just outside the hotel is 'Paco's', have to pay but judging by the amount of AI Wristbands eating there was definently a highlight compared to the hotel
Rooms - Good size, clean towels every day, great sea view
Resort - Great water park on site and the beach and sea are also very child friendly, Pool is cold but you'll need it if the weather is as hot as it was for us.
Entertainment - Made our own with the large measures that are given with the drinks.
** Points worth noting - Visit Sunny Beach if you like Blackpool.
Visit Nessabar if you want fake stuff, its cheaper than on the resort.
Tattoo on resort, My Manc and Welsh friend's had their's done and they look really good, good price too.
Kids will love the resort, lots of tears at end, especially from our daughters who proved quite popular with the boys.
Won't mention names but give me a chance to save up for the wedding cause I didn't win the lottery !!)
A big thank you to our friends as it was them that put out the towls and queued for the restaurants as I'm lazy, although it was them that spiked my drinks so I couldn't get up anyway. !!!!
Would I go back Bulgaria - Yes
Would I stay at this resort again - Not a chance

Overall Hotel Rating:
Just back from Royal Park Hotel, Elenite, Bulgaria. Had two weeks All inclusive for 4 adults and 2 kids.
Hotel is good but you are VERY isolated...
Food is absolutely TERRIBLE - BE AWARE.
The items detailed below are some, not all, of the problems we had with our holiday through First Choice, which was unacceptable and very disappointing.
With this said I would like to hear from First Choice about how I get compensation against what can only be described as a poor excuse for a 4 star hotel.
1. Food - Major problem - food was absolutely terrible. Lunch menu usually only had two choices of main dish. Dinner usually had around 3 or 4 choices of main dish, which was always fish, veal or pork. Food selection was atrocious. Every time chicken was on menu it was pink and uncooked. Quality of the food was very, very poor. All 6 members of our party had severe stomach pains, diarrhoea and vomiting. Our party had to spend an awful lot of money travelling to other places to buy meals for two weeks - our party spent approx £1000 on taxis, meals, etc because food was so unacceptable. Every single person we met in the hotel complained bitterly about the food, and a vast majority being ill due to something they had ate.Choices of snacks during the day was limited to hot dogs or pizza (which stopped at around 4pm). Also, there was nothing to eat after 9.30pm. There are 3 other restaurants on site. However you had to book them in advance between 10-11am on the day. Usually there was people queued from 9.30am, so getting a place was very difficult. I do not expect to have to get up and go and book what I want for dinner in an all inclusive holiday.
2. Sofa Bed - so uncomfortable/lumpy 3 people had to sleep in 2 beds for entire holiday.
3. Swimming pool closes at 6.00pm.4. No kids area of swimming pool at hotel. Shallow end of pool was 1.45 metres deep, which my 7 year old son could not stand up in. This was a major issue as kids could not play freely and safely at pool.
5. Poolside bar closed at around 6.30pm. Therefore you had to walk 5 minutes to lobby bar to get a drink if it was too busy/hot inside, and 5 minutes back.
6. Only one lift operational on our side of building for full two weeks - lift operation was very temperamental. Big issue considering we were on sixth floor and we had to climb the stairs almost always.
7. Room satellite TV - only 3 English channels, all others German speaking.
8. No bath in room, shower only.
9. Waterpark - slides very badly built and very sore when riding down slides. Kids could not ride the slides for full holiday for fear of being injured on what can only be called ";dodgy"; construction.10. Hotel being built next door had constant drilling/construction noise, with workers around all the time - no pleasant when trying to relax on holiday

Excellent holiday, would definitely reccomend it to anyone with children. Great beach, loads of activities, good food. I found all the people and staff very friendly. The holiday was well organised, everything went smooth from the airport to check in. The room was clean and was cleaned well everyday. Lifts in the hotel are a bit eccentric but if thats all you can find to complain about then that cant be bad! I would reccomend the boat trip to Nessebar. The boat sails from the jetty at 10.30 and takes about an hour to get there. you get a few hours to go round the shops. The shops in Nessebar are much cheaper than the Hotel shops and we found a sports shop that sold excellent premier league replica shirts...my son bought a great qualty replica Berbatov Tottenham Kit for the equivalent of £12.00...come on you spurs!
Weather was hot (90-100)every day but a nice breeze off the sea makes it feel comfortable. The sea is nice and safe with lifeguards and it slopes gently and stays shallow for quite a distance out. There were jet skis and a banana boat and other boats to hire.
Food is good, lots of choice, pancakes for breakfast. You must try the fruit , it is lovely.
I would definitely reccomend this holiday and this Hotel , kids had a fantastic time and I will come back again in a few years.

Just got back from Bulgaria. We were a bit worried after reading some reviews but we were glad we didn't cancel this holiday.
The waterpark is good and they are building 2 new slides and a wavepool that should be finished soon. We also spent alot of time in the sea where it was nice and warm and you can do lots of watersports, the rubber rings are good. We didn't spend much time by the hotel pool because it seemed too crowded and there were always plenty of sunbeds in the waterpark although you have to pay a small cost. The first choice reps were good and there was also a good animation team which would also put a show on in the night.
There could be more choice of snacks available in the resort because there is only a choice of pizza and hot dogs and they close quite early. The food was rather bland in the hotel but there was always something that you could eat. On a lunchtime you could get chicken and chips which was served on the terrace of the sozopol restaurant which was nicer than the hotel.

Hotel and den room were superb in terms of comfort and cleanliness. There were armies of cleaners both in the hotel and on the beach. Proximity from hotel to beach was a matter of three steps from poolside. Team of entertainers were very good however the venue could have been improved (new complex was in the process of being built during our stay). All inclusive option of drinks and ice cream / snacks was good however the main meals left a lot to be desired.

we have visited Elenite Village in 2004 (see previous review submitted!). We are due to stay at the Royal Park in May but have received a letter from First Choice advising of building work going on all day, every day around the hotel. Can anyone advise how bad this is?! Thanks, much appreciated, do we need to cancel our holiday bearing in mind we have a toddler?

There was 21 in our party, we went on the 21st May for one week.
Where do we start?
The hotel itself was a beautiful place it looked amazing both inside and out. It is situated ontop of the beach (with lovely sand unlike some people have commented) The hotel was always clean, maids cleaned the rooms and left fresh towels every day and i never once see any litter or mess on the floor it was cleaned straight away. So 10 out of 10 for that.
ENTERTAINMENT: Unforuntaly we went at the end of May and they did not have there thetre completely built so we didnt have the full entertainment we should of had but there was 21 of us and we made the entertainment ourselves. some of the younger ones in our party (between 18 and 21) befriended the entertainment team reps and spent most nights with them, having a drink once they finished work or going to the local bar down the road called Pakos. Which i can only describe a a little love shack looking place but had a good atmosphere and drinks were really cheap (if you go there make sure you try the cheesey chips) The entertainment team were brilliant, There was a girl called Tara who had an absolutly amazing singing voice - had her own caberet one night, if its on dont miss that she was excellent, The others like Luke, Carrie and Nathan were all up for a laugth and great fun.
DRINKS: Our lot did have a bit of a problem, i myself only drink diet drink and only drink Malibu (or equivelent) and three others in our group dont drink fizzy drinks at all.. They did not do fresh orange only still drink you could get at the bar was water, so in the end we were having to buy our own drinks to drink of a night time. Which we did not exspect to do with an all inclusive but its not really a major problem as drinks are cheap anyway.
SERVICE/FOOD: Not one person in our group complained about the food, there was a veriation each day and the pancakes at breakfast went down lovely every morning. Ha Ha. The service i must admit was a bit poor in regards to the Bulgarians working there they never smiled and dont speak much english. Which was quite unhelpful. However my partner learnt a few words such as ";Strusty"; which means hello ";Blagadalia"; which means thank you ";Neddubray"; which means not good and ";chao"; which means Bye which helped along the way.
WATERPARK: The water park was brilliant. We spent more time there then we did at the pool in the hotel as the water was warmer in the water park. However we had a situation with the life guards so keep an eye on your kids as the life guards seem to just be sunbathing and messing about in the water themselfs instead of doing there job properly. The slides were great fun for all ages. The orange slide was the better one as it goes really fast and shoots you of the end... Especially if your all oiled up..
ROOMS: Rooms were lovely could not fault them at all, very clean and lovely to look at. Towels changed and bed made every day.
BUILDING WORK: Nothing to worry about, never heard the building going on, and is situated behind the hotel so hardly noticable.
PROBLEMS: Yes sorry! we had our fair share of problems (then again there was 21 in our group so its quite alot of us) Although the floors were always being cleaned (which is a good thing) they were left wet all the time, and being marble was very dangerous. We met numerous people who had fell over in the hotel.
One night my nan who is 70 was walking out of the resturant (she is always careful of how she walks having had 2 major back ops) she slipped over on the wet floor and bruised all her arm, thigh, back anfd leg. She fell pretty hard and was shaken by it but did not want to worry anyone with going to see a Dr.
However the next night in the Nightclub, drinks had been spilt on the floor and my nan came from the dance floor and slipped on the wet floor, she cought herself on the raised platform and then the floor. A Dr was called from the medical centre which was luckily next door. They got her there and she ended up in hospital till 5.00 in the morning. She was put on a drip and x-rayed at the medical centre before going to hospital. They thought she had broken her hip and arm. Luckily after all that she was okay and allowed back to the hotel with only fractures not breakages. But was still very shaken up..... But for a 70 year old lady to have to go throught that was terrible especially as the hospital thay took her to was as quoted ";a slaughter house"; with operations going on in the hall way, people being stiched up in the hall and the Dr's going from one patient to the next with bloody gloves on.
Just letting you know so you make sure you are very very careful in how you walk around on the marble flooring....it is dangerous.
Apart from that we had a fantastic holiday. Weather was amazingly hot, loads of activities to do during the day like killer pool, kayaking, electrical mopeds, vollyball, water polo, Football on the beach... They had loads for the kiddies during the day like trips to sunny beach and pizza and ice cream partys, the little ones from our group loved the kids clubs.
TATTOOS: Our group got 9 tattoos in total we got them all done by the Morris bar (Irish pub) The tattooist was called Adam and he was a top bloke. My partner designed his own tattoo and he copied my partners design and it looked brilliant. It is so cheap over there for tattoos its unreal my partner got a quote in england for 200.00 for his tattoo and it only cost his £55.00 in Bulgaria. The guy who does it Adam is very nice, he makes you feel comfortable and is very friendly, he only gets 30% of the money he makes so try and give him a little tip as he is a very nice talented man...Its well worth it.
I think that sums up our holiday. We had a brilliant time and met loads of great people out there. We would definatly go again but maybe in a few years when Bulgaria is more developed. Hope you enjoy your holiday as much as we did

we stayed at this hotel from the 25 th september untill the 3rd october 2006
arrived in the early hours, hotel was impressive on arrival even gave food bags out and water, rooms were clean and bed half made up. breakfast on wednesday was lovely a wide selection or cooked foods also cereals toast ect. pool was very cold in fact the sea was better apart from swimming with jelly fish. food semi edable on wednesday night and got worse and worse for the rest of the week. we were a party of 9 adults all apart from one got sickness and diahorea we were not the only ones even they were dropping like flies. money was also going missing from our rooms but it was only pound coins that went missing. by saturday lots of the amenaties were closing down. a bar near the sea front that served pizza, chicken in a bun and drinks closed there bar down so no more drinks from that bar area. animations had leaky roofs you had to avoid the puddles while trying to walk in the dark, galaxy bar also had this problem people were slipping and slidding all over the place and a i dont mean dancing.
we had to pay 5 leve to go on the pedlos which we were told were free.went to see dr they asked for insurance details or £50 cash up front per person per visit.we were told we would be put onto drips to get fluid into our body's. fluid was not the problems the food was. asked would i go back to this hotel not on your life. be carefull of the pick pockets when getting on and off the buses also when you are on the bus they tried to pick one old chaps pocket and he laughted at them because he had nothing in them.

Recently come back from Royal Park Hotel Elenite Bulgaria
To start I requested sea view and low floor this was all done for me, excellent.
The hotel is placed right on beach front with excellent views , well laid out hotel with fairly good staff who try to do their best for you.
Service can be a bit slow at times at bar but this could be down to lack of experience on the bar staff part.
Overall I enjoyed this holiday with one exception the food is terrible. As a chef myself I was not expecting top class meals but even on a scale of mass cooking it was hard to find something eatable, my wife and daughter lived either on chips or when visited Sunny Beach they ate McDonalds.
The food was rarely hot and finding a table to eat at took careful timing, I ended up with a stomach bug and did not eat for four days which for me has never been heard off as I have eaten most things in my travels around the world with no upsets.
The hotel was only let down by the standard of food but as this is a fairly new complex perhaps this will change over the next few years.

Just got back after spending two weeks at this hotel and had a fab time.Hotel very clean.Staff very friendly and cleaners were none stop.
Our second week there, we had a power cut for about five hours (12am-5pm)it wasn't just our hotel it was the whole of the east coast(which happens at home)and some people moaned and groaned because all the drinks and music was of.They were still serving bottled water and the pool was still open and there was still the sea,if they didn't want water it was only 50p-£1 to buy at the shop.
We had a kids den, the roo
