"Hotel Royal Park review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
we had read so many bad reports on this hotel we were a bit wary, there was no need to be. It was a lovely clean hotel and the staff were very helpful, they spoke very good english.
The first chioce reps were fantastic and worked their socks off, wait for grease !!!!.
the beach and pool area's were clean and safe, pizza bar and doughnut stall are great, we were not so keen on the aneamic hot dogs. the drinks could have been served in bigger glasses as you could only get 2 at a time and the queue at night was never ending.FOOD was ok considering they have 2 english chefs the concoctions are strange cauliflower/brocclli and hard boiled eggs !!!!, there was onlt 2 toasters both small household ones so toast for breakfast was a luxury.
outside of the hotel there was nothing unless you took a bus (very cheap but make sure you check your change their maths is a bit poor )or a taxi some were in terrible condition, where you could go to sunny beach, there is a big tall hotel right by bus stop which has a small water park at which you can hire chairs/brollies and for 15 leva kids play unlimited, cheaper than the bigger park. the actual beach at sunny beach very crowded, better to stay on elinite beach but shops good in sunny beach.quite alot of building going on but it did'nt affect us at all.we had a brill time and would go back maybe in 2-3 years.
take spare cash as fake gear is really cheap and of a good quality.

unbelievable, 12 hours since our return and i feel the urge to tell everyone how good this hotel and resort are.
from the moment your coach turns the bend and you see the hotel for the first time, through to your last lingering look as your coach is returning you to the airport, you have just spent a week in the best hotel i have ever stopped in!my partner and i are not sun worshippers so we spent most of our time visting the old town of nessebur or sunny beach getting there by water taxi (20 lv each return) bus (1.6 lv each single) or taxi (20 lv single) all of this transport leaves from within 100 yard of the hotel reception. rooms are spacious with air con and to have tame peacocks and deer roaming the hotel grounds adds a touch of magic.
as its an all inclusive resort so food can be a little like school dinners (although the new english chef is making some remarkable changes)
there are no queues at any of the 6 bars in the hotel, the beer is cold and strong, but the vodka is colder and stronger -ask for a small one.
to take breakfast outside on a balcony, overlooking the massive pool, 20 yards from the beach takes some beating
bad points-
the pools can ce cold
the hotel workmanship is comical (esp.the tiling)
evening entertainment can be monotinous (but kids loved it)
......now we're struggling
everything else is top rate, if you like the sun, like the beach, like the pool and want to live like a king for a week ..try the royal park you will not be dissapointedto finish with..on my final day we were walking the grounds and i must have dropped my wallet..one of the numerous cleaners ran up to me with it (inside was 100 pounds sterling and about 150 lv) it would have been easier for her to keep it rather than accept the relativly pittiful ";reward"; i gave her

Well I have to say that this hotel was everything the brochure said it would be. After reading some earlier reports I was nearly ready to cancel but boy I was glad I didn't as I would have missed out on the best All inclusive holiday I have ever been on. We had a suite which consisted of 2 large bedrooms a bathroom and a hallway both rooms with balcony and seaview very nice for the evenings. The rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels when ever we wanted them.
The food was also very good I don't think I ate the same meal twice in the 2wks i was there. My kids also enjoyed the food and always went back for more. The drink was plentiful although I must say it would have been usefull if they displayed what drinks they actually served as over a 2week period you got fed-up drinking vodka and coke anyway I managed to get a variety eventually.
The beach was lovely and you could always get a sunbed and umbrella even when you arrived at 12noon. What I like most about this holiday was the variety of places you could make use of your all inclusive plenty of bars, cafes restaurants and snack bars to choose from each always within a stones through away.
Ok I do have one complaint. The weather, We arrived on 20/06/05 and left on 04/07/05 and over these two weeks we had at least 5 days of bad weather.Pretty disappointing as I thought going at this time of year would have been guaranteed sunshine or almost but it just goes to show. but maybe we were just unlucky so give it a try.

Stayed at the Royal Park, how fantastic. Enjoyed it so much that we are going back in July 2006 with the rest of the family.
I didn't think the food was as bad as people are making out. something different every evening cooked by two english chefs.
We had a sea view so we had the pleasure in watching the dolphins swimming in the bay every morning. The teenager in our group had a fantastic time. I think they enjoyed the freedon they had and being able to stay out til after midnight we allowed this because the resort is such a safe place, you did not have to worry about them going out of the resort.
The only draw back if any was, if it rain all the first choice entertainment was moved to the Irish bar in the basement, which is not big enough to accomodate holiday makers.
I agree with the others that the Germans were so rude. don't bother to hold doors open for them because they will not do it for you and you won't get thanked for it.
'Fake' designer wear very cheap, so leave plenty of space in your suitcases.
First choice entertainment was great. A show every night plus bingo. in the afternoons they have a pool side quiz. so any one thinking of coming, swat up on your general knowledge.
I would reccommend the royal park to anybody will infact I have we have friends going in June 2006.
For future guests of the Royal Park, I just hope you have as much fun as we did!!!!

We had a really good holiday! I have heard that last year things were not good in the resort but they must have sorted things out.T
he boys had lots of freedom due to the layout of the whole resort. We had a kids den which was wonderful, the boys loved it- it had bunk beds and a play station 2.
Food was great! The only problem we had was that you can not get your hands on any food after approx 9.30pm.If I forgot to get a supply of crisps during the day,I had a nightmare with hungry kids later on! I do not think this resort is suitable for people without children.

We have just returned from the Royal Park Hotel - and it was fantastic. I would recommend this to anybody,
The hotel is awesome, with 8 floors and a large restaurant, great swimming pools and many places to eat and drink on the complex as a whole.(you can use the Elenite Holiday Village complex a short walk away)
Food was quite good in hotel restaurant, plenty of choice at all times, although it can get noisey at times. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant but on the evenings we decided to give the other 3 restauants a go (you have to book them between 10am and 11am on the morning for the evening) The Sunshine, is the a la carte restaurant...not bad at all...very quiet with about a dozen tables if that. The Talyana was lovely...its a barbecue on the evening with a help yourself..all set next to the beach in a little patio style...very very nice. We decided to eat here for 3 evenings of the 7. The Sozopol is the Bulgarian restaurant. And let me tell you Kavarma is lovely..so give it a try. Very civilized place, very quiet, so once again a nice change from the noise in the hotel restaurant.
The staff were lovely, they work such long hours and so hard. We couldn't believe our cleaner - i,m sure she worked about 14 hours in the day. Rooms were cleaned daily (only downside being their towels not that big)The hotel has 8 floors..we were on the 8th floor..and what a seaview...absolutely gorgeous. Only problem was we had Liverpool FC fans on our floor..and making noise at 3am in the morning was not ideal..neither was flooding a room as well which woke us up with the poor staff having to vacuum at 3am. It gives English people a bad name.
The First Choice reps were excellent..giving us all the info we needed - when you check-out make sure the reception give you an Exit Visa..they didn't for us..and we were sitting on the coach ready to leave when the rep asked if we'd all got one!! You get fined £300 at the airport apparently! There was a Currency change bureau on reception so we took US dollars to change into Bulgarian Levs...2.80L to the £1appeox...which makes stuff so cheap to buy (although we only paid for trips and souveneirs being on all inclusive) A bottle of wine in the hotel supermarket sets you back...3.90L...or £1.40 ish !! Bottled water 1litre about 35p !! By the way, Bulgarian lager is great...we had one or two!!
We went on 2 trips...the Jeep Safari is great, thorougly recommend it..it just happened to rain on the way back though! Also, Nessebar is a lovely fishing town..we had a boat to there and was great. Do go. Hotel great for kids too. Plenty for them to do. The Irish bar is a typical pub style bar..although Guinness not on the all inclusive! The bar is at the end of a long corridor of little shops in the hotel..well worth a visit. The weather between May 20-27 was not bad..had one or two cloudy mornings, but when the sun came out was lovely. Bit of rain but not anything really significant.
I would definitely recommend this hotel..possibly the only downside is if you are looking for a more lively, clubby place on the evening, then Elenite is not your resort..go to Sunny Beach. We enjoyed our stay here at the Royal Park immensely.

Overall Hotel Rating:
I had read alot of bad reviews about this hotel, but the reviews were from when the hotle first opened, so i didnt worry to much, when we got to the hotel it was very late and we hadnt eaten for 4 hours, the hotel gave everyone a packed lunch to take to there rooms which i thought was very nice.
The rooms are very big and so was the bed. Bath room was very clean and the room was very modern. Down by the pool area was very clean and there is one very big pool for adults and two small pools for children. I liked the fact that the kids pools were far away from the adults. The beach was very clean had lots of water sports. The hotel had just 2 other hotels near by and your are surrounded buy trees and mountains which was lovley. the staff were a little bit weird, some would talk to you others wouldnt.
The food was ok hot and lots of it so i was fine with that. Me and my boyfriend couldnt stop drinking there hot chocolate very nice. At night there was a market set up and there was a adults disco and a kids disco. lots of games for children and there is a very big loby bar with lots of chairs and tables for you to set and play cards.
Over all it was a great holiday nothing really to complain about.

when we first got there i thought wow its nice the reception wos good but when we eached the room it was damp and the smell was dreadful this may be due to the fact that the room was practically in the swimming pool.the food was absoultly TERRIBLE for me as a 14 year old thre was no choice the pizza bar was ok but the woman who worked there was very rude to me frequently shouting at me in blugarian the men there were quite forward often making gestures towards me and talkin to me despite the fact you cood see i am a young girl the entertainment was ok however for me there was hardly anything to do there waws a disco from 10 till 12 every evening apart from mondays but in the day there wasnt anything to do go to the beach which was excellent becuase all you had to do was walk down steps from the pool so that was good.
the beach was nice however my mum and dad had to go down stair at like 6 or 7 in tha morning to get a few sungloungers the sea was very nice warm although onnthe last dqy the waves were absoulotly HUGE knocking me to the sea floor but the lifeguard was relativly strict not allowing us to use lilos or swim out to far.the weather was nice but wilst we were there was a heat wave the restaurant floor was soakin h=the coule of times i went in there which was not very often.
i would not go back to that hotel however i would consider retuning to bulgaria as i think it in general was ok.sunny beach was likeone great big huge dirty building site qith a man beating a bear to make it dance in this country ANIMAL CRUELTY beating a bear so it could dance.out of ten i would give elenite 4 or 5

Having read the previous reviews about hotel, we were some what nervous about going.First impressions of place were good.Lobby and reception were very attractive however our room although spacious (with two beds and a sofa bed)wasnt very comfy, the sofa bed was so bad my husband(who suffers from bad back)ended up in a fair bit of pain.Next time i would pay extra for two room apartment.Resort and hotel very clean, cleaners there till early hours cleaning invisible dirt and all very friendly.
Food ok nothing to shout about but you wont go hungry kids enjoyed the freshly cooked pizza everyday on the beach but there were other things as well hot dogs, sandwiches etc.Three pools but gets very busy we spent most of our time on the beach which was lovely and very well patrolled by life guards. We visited Sunny Beach which was awful very much like Blackpool and Nessebar which was quaint although the sea was so rough on the return boat journey that we had to turn back where they laid on a coach to return us to hotel.
Entertainment was geared towards younger children with mini discos and party dances and kids clubs only went up to 8 years old so our two 11 year olds were a little bored during the evening but it was nice to sit on balcony with a drink overlooking the pools and beach. We went on two trips with first choice The donkey Safari which was really boring and not worth the £55 we paid for it and The jeep safari which was worth every bit we paid because it was excellent, loads of fun no matter what your age.
Overall our holiday was really nice, would we go back? maybe in about ten years time. Would we recommend it? yes because the country is really beautiful if you take time to see it.Overall rating 8/10

Having read the reports in the Sun newspaper we were a bit apprehensive of going to this hotel. We didnt have to worry.
The Hotel was clean and the rooms were very nice (large and clean). Towels etc were changed every day and we found the cleaner to be very nice and helpful as were the rest of the staff.
The only thing I would say is that the food was not great but you could always find good restaurants in Sunny Beach which is a short Taxi or bus ride away.
Entertainment for the kids is good and the reps show was well worth the money.
Plenty of things to do and the beach is very clean.
Sunny Beach is great for the kids and the shopping is good.
Boat trip from Nessebar is very good and the staff on the boat are very friendly.Would visit Elenite again.
