"Mimosa Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Firstly, this was a last minute holiday ... We were already planning to go to Goldern Sands in June (Marina Grand) but my youngest had chicken poix so we had to cancel !!!!
The Mimosa was one of the few hotels we could get for the only week in July I could go ...
Anyway ... Here Goes ...
I've used this site alot when choosing holidays before and as there is no refernce to this hotel I thought you should know what I think ..
Hotel ...
The Hotel was 4* and its a fair reflection ... We arrived at about 1am and they had a little packed lunch for us .. I know no-one was hungry but the thought was there ...
The porter were very helpful but do expect a few Lev's for their trouble ... They always looked aftyer me once they'd had the tip ....
The hotel had 3 English families in the hotel on the week were there ... No you can read into this what you like but for us this was great .... My eldest made friends from Belgium/France/Germany/England and had a great time
The Kids Club or ";Animation"; as they call it was a little bit half hearted, there is a club-house with kids stuff and staff there but they don't go searching for the kids ... but to be honest my eldest had made friends and she was happy ...
The Animation Staff were excellent help - spoke about a dozen languages and the shows at night (every night except Sunday) start at 9pm and they encourage everyone to get involved ...
There is a mini-bar in the room which is very reasonable but the supermarket across the road is cheap to so you can take your pick ...
The Air-con worked fine and was a blessing for the kids ..
The food ...
This is always a big issue (especially if your halfboard) ...
I speak as I find and I thought it was SUPERB ....
Breakfast were extensive with fruits / yoghurts / cereal / plus about 7 or 8 hot dishes - eggs/sausage/pasta????/ plus coffee and drinks on tap .....
Evening meals were very varied - again 8 or 9 hot dishes to choose from - all of it was excellent - we ate there 5 of the 6 nights - we went out one night for a change ...
Plenty of choice plus salads, deserts, bread etc ...
Any you can go up as often as you like .....
The good thing was for us was there was no specific kids menu ... All food was 'European' so no chicken nuggets/fishfingers etc ... AND NO CHIPS !
If this isn't your scene - fair enough - but we found this great ...
The kids ate all sorts and no complaints from the kids or us ....
Pool ..
It has 4 pools , 2 slides and a Lifeguard on duty during the day ..
No need to be up at 6am with your town - plenty of beds and we were by the pool before the Germans most mornings !
Bar Tab ..
One thing about the hotel is that you don't pay for anything whilst your there - its all charged to the room - this includes drinks / ice-creams / lunch by the pool etc ... When you check out they give you a bill then ... Just remember to have some money aside !!! They do accept Credit cards too....
Cashpoints ..
There are loads in the resort but noone seems to mention this ... you max per day is only 200Lev tho' - just be aware ...
To summarise ..
Superb holiday for the family - loads of great bars and entertainment... What a massive resort ....
The prices were higher than what's been quoted on some other reviews - it's cheaper than UK but not that much cheaper ...
Great hotel - recommended to all ....
We may be back in a couple of years !

"Mimosa Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Hotel Mimosa is the nicest hotel I have stayed in. Everything is modern and very clean. Rooms were very comfortable, cleaned every day. The maids were superb. The Spa has all the latest technology and the staff speak very good English.
The food was suprisingly good. It wasn't as nice as eating out but it was varied every night and the choice was good.
The pools were kept clean and the children's pools were seperate to the adults which I found helpful. Although, as the pools were all on different levels, the barriers were not completely safe and children could easily have fallen through. It was nice to have a playground for the kids as well.
The only down side about the hotel for us was the lack of English people for us to talk to. Our 3 year old found making friends difficult because of the language barrier. Out of this huge hotel there was only one other English family.
Golden Sands itself is huge; there are more restaurants, bars and clubs here than Magaluf, Ibiza, Ayia Napa. The beach is huge and very busy. Go to the very far left end of the beach (as far as you can go) for a lovely but almost empty beach.
Beware for the deformed beggars on the streets (quite a disturbing sight) and prositutes.
We would like to return to Golden Sands but only when more English people have discovered the resort.
