eThe Hotel Estraya Palace is a reasonably new hotel which generally is well maintained. The lobby is very small and there is nowhere to stay if the weather is poor. Any entertainment is held in the dining room, whether people are eating or not!!. The rooms are all well furnished, wallpaper on the walls and very well appointed bathrooms, fully tiled and well maintained. Very nice grounds and pool area(2 pools). Try not to get a room on the 4th floor, this is in the attic space with dormer windows and no balcony although they have a better view than all the others. Be warned, there is an outside eating area which is for smokers. there is a waitress in attendance but she wil not clean or lay tables. This is the thing that lets this hotel down, the restaurant staff are very bad at their jobs. They will not work fast to clear or lay tables, they stand around talking or dissapear completely. They dont seem to have a clue how to look after guests. Even the Germans were complaining and this is a German owned hotel. On the other hand the cleaners were fantastic. They made little designs from the bedclothes everyday, swans, flowers etc. very nice.
St Constantin is apparently a resort that has been in existance for over 100 years and in parts it looks like it. The whole resort is like a private estate with roads that are shut to traffic during the day and evening, covered in big trees, very picturesqu...

resort itself bout 5min walk from the beach these not quite med standard but sea very nice and clean.
small hippy market near hotels open all day good 4 bargain hunters, the whole resort also surrounded by woodland very pretty and unusual not wot we xpected.

St Konstantin is a very quiet resort, a little run-down but I'd gone for a peaceful break and returned feeling very relaxed. I'd say it was more for older couples and wouldn't recommend it for single travellers - one place refused to serve me as a woman on my own, and I felt a bit uncomfortable walking round the centre in the evenings.
The Hotel Estreya is very clean and the restaurant staff were welcoming and pleasant, but the hotel has little else going for it. The food was disgusting and sometimes unidentifiable. The same dessert was offered every day: plain yoghurt, tinned cherries, chocolate biscuits, and just to make the point we got them for breakfast as well. The reception staff don't speak English. The hotel has no lounge or indoor bar and the public indoor seating consists of a settee in the lounge and one by the exchange desk. If it rains you just have to sit in your room!
As for Balkan Holidays - I'd never travel with them again. I'd pre-booked a spa package and their rep (who spoke very little English) said he knew nothing about it and was completely unhelpful. He didn't even know if there was a pharmacy in the resort! (Yes, there is, a very good one.)He provided no details were provided about being picked up for the return journey home and my airline ticket had the wrong departure time printed on it.
St Konstantin is a place with its own charm and if I'd stayed in a better hotel with a decent tour operator I'd have enjoyed it a lot more.
