"EXCELLENT FOR LOCATION AND CHOICE"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I travelled with my husband and 7year old 28th junew for 1 week. This was our first time to bulgaria and chose it as it was the most reasonable destination price wise when booking. We arrived from a late flight and were amazed by the layout and facilities the hotel had. We stayed in the new block D and it was lovely.
Food wise i would be very picky as is the 7 year old and each day we got plenty to do us. Lunchtime snack bar has no shortage of chips pizzas burgers salads fruits etc. Evening time in all honesty could be a wee bit dodgy but again plenty to keep you going. Each nice there was a different joint of meat on carvery section and other food choices were plentiful. We did not try the asian or bulgarian restaurants on site as it was more choicey.
Pools were brilliant and not overcrowded we were always able to get three sun loungers near poolside no probs. If you are beach person, across road belongs to hotel and there is your all inc beach bar aswell. mind you lot of green seaweed!!!
Evening entertainment was somewhat dodgy but the bulgarian nite with the girls dancing wed nite was really entertaining. somewhat similar to khans tent entertainment nite i believe. again mini disco for kids at 7pm and after evening entertainment disco in block D.
Water sports are not expensive. Free bus to aquapark again only cost bout 45quid for the three of us. to be honest if you go after 3pm its reduced rate and probably plenty of time to enjoy rides queues were minimal.

"Club Hotel Riu Evrika"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We were at the Evrika at the last week of the World Cup so there was a very good atmosphere, Hotel was very good and clean, food was plentiful (if you got there before the Russians). Asian restaurant was very good, but we were disappointed with the Bulgarian Restaurant as the food was no different there than the main restaurant. We had a night flight home so we kept our room on it cost 10 Lev and hour (approx £5)so be warned,

"Evrika,best hotel,have rebooked for 2011"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Excellent hotel, couldnt fault it on anything! fantastic selection of food across 3 restaurants, one main with huge selection of international cuisine, a Bulgarian and an Asian. Im a vegetarian and there was plenty of choice for me! Fabulous kids club with 2 dedicated, enthusiastic staff who made sure the children were amused for the entire duration! my daughter loved kids club and it was all she talked about, she adored the 2 staff and was sad to say goodbye! plenty of english children in the kids club too, in fact mostly all english! If you're looking for the perfect holiday this is the hotel, right on the beach, good value shopping on your doorstep, dedicated hard working animation team to give you as much or as little as you want. beautiful, warm, clear sea and silky soft sand. The hotel has polite friendly staff, excellent food, fabulous pools, perfect for families, couples, singles, all ages. Theres also plenty of quiet places if thats what you want, either at the quiet pool, sofa areas in the 2 reception areas, the gardens around the hotel etc! Evening entertainment also excellent, the animation team worked really hard each night and it was great fun. Also had Bulgarian night which included traditionally dressed bulgarian dancers and musicians. Bus trip to Nessebar only cost 50p per person, bus stop right outside front of hotel and runs every 15 mins and its a 15 min journey! We have only been back in the UK a week and already rebooked Evrika for 2011, cant wait to go back, have considered other hotels and countries but couldnt find anything to compare for the cost of the holiday to the location, food and facilities and entertainment that Evrika has to offer! Highly recommended, best hotel, best holiday! fab weather too!

"ClubHotel Riu Evrika"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just a five-minute walk from this place is the heart of Sunny Beach – expect plenty in the way of bars, restaurants and shops. Just a short wander through the hotel’s palm-dotted grounds, meanwhile, will bring you to a large stretch of sand. Step inside the Riu Evrika and you’ll find a sleek lobby bar with chrome fittings and polished floors. Bedrooms, meanwhile, are spacious and decorated in classic shades of vanilla and apricot. They all come with essentials like air-conditioning and a satellite TV. And if the children are in tow, you can pick a family room which has a separate bedroom and lounge area, plus an extra bathroom. The scene-stealer, though, has got to be the pool. It’s a lake-sized number, with a waterfall in the centre and bridges spanning it. It’s framed by decking with a combination of all-white loungers and shades. Add a bar that does a good range of snacks and it’s a great place to spend the day. There’s also another pool nearer the beach, which tends to be a lot quieter than the main one. When it comes to dining, you’ve got plenty of options. Pile your plate in the buffet restaurant which also has show cooking and themed evenings. Tables spill out on to a terrace, so you can eat al fresco. You’ll also find a Bulgarian restaurant, and one that’s devoted to Asian dishes.

Overall Hotel Rating:
Visited Sunny Beach in August 09 with my girlfriend. Really nice hotel, the food was good and the room was really nice. There was plenty to do, the hotel runs lots of sports and activities and stuff. Location is really good too, right by the beach and pretty near all the main bars and shops that we walked to every night. We would go back, especially as it was reasonable price compared to other places.

"Eurika for the Evrika Hotel"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The Riu Evrika hotel was fantastic and I cannot recommend it enough. It was so clean you could eat your dinner off the floor. All staff were very polite (apart from our rep) and the room had plenty of wardrobe space and a TV with limited english channels. The family entertainment was good and there were plenty of activities for adults and children throughout the day. The evening entertainment was limited if you have children. There is a show on every night which was good but after that there are only the bars to explore outside the hotel. I don't believe children are allowed in bars after certain times as they never seemed to be present. I'm a fussy eater and there was plenty to eat, with fantastic home made soup and plenty of puddings. There is a bulgarian restaurant which we didn't try. The Asian restaurant was nice but don't eat the beef as it tastes like gristle. As the hotel is all inclusive you can drink as much as you like of local beer, selected coctails and spirits. We did think the drinks were non alcoholic for a while as we never saw anyone drunk but we tested the cocktails and did feel the effect. Not so much the local beer. The beach belonging to the hotel is beautiful and it's great to have free drinks in close proximity. The Evrika is also ideally placed to explore the nightlife of sunny beach

"The Truth"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just back from the holiday from Hell at the Evrika Sunny Beach. The list is endless of what we had to endure but what we write about this place is the complete truth.
Arrived at the hotel with no problems and checked in at Reception ( which is fairly dark and dingy). We had booked a Family Room with a Sea View and were then shown to our accomodation on the 3rd floor ( no lifts) and on arriving we realised this was not a family suite. We had been given a large room with a dividing wall and a pull down bed (for our son who is 6' 2"), one single wardrobe, no drawers etc - this was to do 3 adults for 2 weeks. Sea view was a building site. On returning to Reception and requesting the accomodation we had booked we were met with extreme rudeness by the Manageress Khasi who told us to see the Rep who was in the Hotel. After searching the Hotel we were told the Rep had left for the evening. Having contacted our Travel Agent they then contacted Thomson who said we were to meet with the Rep Michelle in the morning at 9.00a.m.. Guess what - we sat about until 12.00p.m. and a Thomson Rep by the name of Chloe arrived and when we asked about seeing Michelle she informed us that she had left the resort over 3 months ago. Explained our situation to Chloe who then spoke to the unhelpful and rude Manageress and really got no further than we did- they at this point said they could downsize us to a smaller family room which we refused as this is not what we booked and upon this refusal, Khasi the Manageress asked us how much longer did we wish to remain in this hotel, as no one complains in her hotel - we thought welcome to Bulgaria!!!!! On further discussion we were then told to come back to Reception again the following day - this was now into the 3rd day of our holiday and we would be shown a number of rooms which we could chose from - which we agreed to do. Returned the next morning and were told by Reception to return later again!!! We refused to do so and were offered 2 double rooms ( at this point Rep warned us not to complain as the higher up the tree you go to complain the worse they will make it for you) Reluctantly we accepted the 2 rooms which had the following - no sea view - we looked on to tree trunks and a building site - balcony was filthy - when you pulled the shower curtain the whole thing collapsed on top of you.

"Club Hotel Riu Evrika review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We have stayed in many all inclusives at numerous reorts around Europe. This was by far one of the best.
Large rooms, cleaned and changed daily. The Hotel is right on the beach and the all inclusive Evrika bar on the beach was very welcome. We had a go at jet ski's at about £20 for 1/4hr(2people)
Food was pretty much the same as most all inclusive but very good. The animation team are very good, they pesture you to join in the holiday sports, but they accept if you don't want to. The evening entertainment mainly comprizes of their entertainment, which is quite humourous and watchable. The Bulgarian Entertainment night was poor(not done by the animation team)
The Mini Disco is loved by the kids....and the adults!!!
The very near by shops are cheap, clean, within strolling distance, and great to walk off your meals.
We had a bus trip to Nessabar which was a nice relaxing place to shop, with many restaraunts and pubs in the Bulgarian atmosphere.
The nearby Aqua park is good, but get there early as you queue for slides after 1pm.All in all Sunny beach is busy or relaxing! Take your pick? But we all enjoyed it and will hopefully return to the Evika one day!

"Club Hotel Riu Evrika review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We spent one week in the Riu Evrika hotel in Sunny Beach and thought it was a brilliant hotel with excellent services and facilities. As a couple, family, group of friends, any one should enjoy a holiday here, just be aware that there are mixed nationalities staying here so if you don't like to mix with others on holiday, choose somewhere with just British holidaymakers. Going on holiday is about experiencing different cultures and people though so most people should be fine here.
On arrival, check-in was quick and efficient. You have to hand in your passports and they hold them until you check out, you are given a band to fasten round your wrist just like most other all inclusive places, a sheet of hotel info like meal times, services etc and a card to allow you a towel for each person in your party. This card enables you to get a fresh clean towel every day from the pool area for sunbathing, you hand the towel back at the end of the day and you get you card back to use the next day. Don't lose the card, you will be charged 20 levs! A porter escorts you to your room and assists with luggage so try and have some change or small notes handy for a tip. Our room was a double (twins pushed together) but was HUGE, so much bigger than any other room I've stayed in. We were pleased to find air con, a tv and fridge in the main room along with a sofa and coffee table, a balcony with chairs and table, bathroom with shower and hairdryer and soap/shampoo to be replaced daily. Wish we had known that you didn't need to take ANY towels and that there would be a tv for some entertainment (quite a few channels showing English speaking films, music etc), we could have saved room in the suitcase instead of taking towels, stereo and hairdryer!! There was also plenty of space for clothes and belongings to be put away.
There are 2 pools, one shaped pool which is quite large and used by the families and children and a smaller pool behind another block which is a bit quieter. As I said towels are provided here. There is also a section of the beach across the road for use of hotel guests, with a bar especially for Evrika guests on the sand so you don't have to go back to the hotel to get a drink. Beware if the weather is overcast or showers, this brings jellyfish into the shallow waters and you will see hundreds of them just a few meters out into the sea.The animation team put on a full day of activities for all ages, they run a kids club, teenagers club and things for adults too. There will be a range of games and competitions for adults being held several times a day, including shuffleboard, darts, football, water polo, table tennis, volleyball, water aerobics, stretching, bocca (like boules I think?), air gun shooting, and many others, they will come round the pool area to round up people to take part and it is all a bit of fun, don't take it seriously! If you like to take part, you will not get bored! The animation team also do a few shows throughout the week in the evening in the amphitheatre, comedy, singing etc. which they really put a lot of effort into. The humour is a bit slapstick and 'European' but it is entertaining and a fun way to pass an hour in the evenings. They also have a couple of professional shows in the amphitheatre, dancing and traditional Bulgarian stuff. The meal times are well managed with dishes being replenished constantly so nothing runs out. There is a wide range of food out at each meal and also in the snack bar, enough to have something different each time. For lunch and dinner in the main restaurant there is different food each day along with stuff that is there every day. You will always get salads, bread, chips, pasta, Bolognese, pizza etc for those more unadventurous.
Finally, this hotel is so CLEAN, I've not seen anything like it. There were always cleaners around making sure every area is spotless, and they clean your room every day not just a quick whip round but a thorough going over every single day. With over 200 members of staff in this hotel, nothing gets overlooked and nothing seems too much trouble. The staff are friendly and the majority speak a range of languages (at least the basics) and really make an effort to communicate with everyone well.
The welcome meeting was the day after we arrived so we had an afternoon to wander round and check things out beforehand. There are quite a lot of trips you could do, from seeing traditional Bulgaria to going on a Catamaran to spot dolphins. We chose the Catamaran and an evening at Khans Tent. The bus picking up for the Catamaran trip was a red London double-decker, funny to see this amongst all the older vehicles out there. This trip was great although the dolphins we saw were quite far away, apparently normally they come quite close to the boat. We anchored up for lunch and a spot of snorkelling in the sea before returning along the coast. Don't forget sun cream for this trip, you WILL burn a lot quicker at sea. Khans Tent is a must do trip, it's at a restaurant up in the mountains (you get a brilliant view over Sunny Beach at night time), traditional Bulgarian 4 course dinner with a band providing music (English singing), a bottle of wine each and some excellent entertainment in the variety show after dinner. There was a female contortionist who got herself into a bird cage, fire eaters, plate spinners, dancers, acrobats, who all put on an amazing show. The Rep at this hotel Dani was excellent, with answers to all your questions and lots of advice and suggestions.
Outside of the hotel, there is a touristy strip running between the hotel and the beach, with bars, restaurants, shops etc. There are loads of shops selling fake designer goods and copied DVDs, they all seem to charge the same prices, no-one is offering a better deal though maybe they have an agreement to do this? If you are looking for the 'centre' of this area, head to the right when you come out of the hotel (rear, not the front). The strip stretches for a good half hour walk if not more. We did eat out one evening, 4 large cocktails, starter and 2 main courses came to equivalent of £15, so it is still fairly cheap here. Most bars have happy hours that last from midday til midnight so these aren't brilliant deals, check the prices of the drinks before you order to check you are getting a good offer. Like most destinations the measures are strong. The PR people trying to get you into restaurants or bars aren't really that pushy but have a spiel they like to finish even if you are still walking away, there are also a lot of people handing out leaflets and flyers and you end up with about 10 after just a few hundred metres walk.Beware of the golf buggies being driven up and down this strip, sometimes by young kids, they are for hire and a lot of lazy people use them to get around this area instead of using their legs even though this section is pedestrianised, they will drive right up behind you and they are practically silent you they will catch your heels if not careful! We saw many near misses between buggies and pedestrians.
We would definitely go back to Sunny Beach, even back to this hotel. We highly recommend it!!

"Club Hotel Riu Evrika review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Accommodaton:
Pool area was fantastic, very large pool and plenty of sunbeds. Easy and quick getting served at the pool bar. Generally seemed very clean too although someone appeared to be sick in the jacuzzi and it took over a day for this to be cleared.
Twin rooms were ok-sized and were basic but comfortable - we stayed in the 3* block 'C' and experienced a lot of noise early evening from an Irish bar - although all of the music from local bars seemed to stop around midnight so getting a good nights sleep was not a problem. Cleaning was acceptable but could have changed the bed clothes more often (I think only once in the two weeks). No air con but we didn't need it.
Meals - Breakfast wasn't bad at all, what I expected - even the milk tasted ok (not sure whether from a cow, goat or a dog but it was alright) and you could get cornflakes if you didn't fancy a cooked breakfast.
The mid day meals were decent but we ended up eating mainly junk food as the salads, fruit etc did not look very appealing. By the end of the holiday we ended up getting jacket potatoes from a little shack on the main street - good value at equivalent of £2, very tasty!
The evening meals, even taking a balanced approach I believe were terrible. The choice for each meal was what I would have expected for a 3*, however it was more or less the same choice every day. The main problem was that for every single meal without exception the meat was at best undercooked and at worst virtually raw. We commented on this several times to the waiters but they seemed ill trained to handle complaints. Three of the four of us suffered from diarrhoea in the first week - we did our best to cut all the risky foods out of our meals but this left soup, pizza and chips. No matter that the pizzas were lovely, this soon got boring so we ended up eating out more in the second week. Even in the second week, we still suffered diarrhoea and couldn't pin it down to any one thing, the meals, the water or the pool water! Take some immodium! Waiters were in plentiful supply but I reckon only half did a decent job, the rest seemed lazy or poorly trained.
Bars - Unfortunately I carried my english expectations with me of first at the bar is first to be served and this caused me some frustration as I was continually 'queue jumped' by our foreign friends. On one occasion, I was third to the bar and was going to be served first so I waved the bar man to serve the person next to me, then he came back to serve me so I said no, the other guys first.... now I'm first in the queue, some other people turned up and got served before me! The hotel is mainly full of germans - the germans don't expect to queue and the bulgarian staff don't understand the queue so if you don't like the idea of getting continually wound up, don't go! The local beer is good if a bit gassy - the cocktail bar 'Avenue' just outside has better beer.
Entertainment - Very hit and miss, but very much more miss. Again, the hotel is geared more towards germans and french so the 'comedy' in the evening shows is a bit tedious. You can spot the english as they are the one's not laughing and wondering why everyone else is rolling round hysterically. The best show was a variety show where some dancers were brought in (ie not part of the animation team). The daytime entertainment never really appeals to me but the entertainers looked busy and friendly, probably very good for the kids.
Resort
Was very disappointed - loads of potential there to be a great resort but it just isn't at the moment.....
Beach - Superb, clean enough, good sand, great for swimming/paddling as there is a very gentle slope to the sea. There is also a bar so you can get all inclusive drinks etc on the beach - sunbeds/parasols are free etc.
Shopping - Poor - probably only a few different kinds of shop (rip off watches, cheap silver jewellery, rip off - and genuine shirts, lilos etc etc) repeated endlessly all based in little shacks or shops with staff sat inside smoking who jump up and harass you as soon as you show any interest.
Restaurants - Went to 3 or 4 and weren't bad to be honest, very cheap. Hard to find anywhere you'd want to go for a romantic meal if you were in a couple though.
So this is not bad so far then, par for the course for a busy overseas resort - it could be so much better though - the general environment is lovely, a large bay, a few hills and forests - but the resort is so dreadfully tacky. Some of the new large hotels look great, but the bulgarian authorities should have insisted that the hotel companies put some money into the infrastructure such as some street lighting, improving the pavements - clearing the tacky shops from the front and making a nice promenade walk and building some shopping centres.
In summary, Sunny Beach and Riu Evrika was good value for a one-off, no-frills cheap holiday but don't go if you are looking for anything special! And don't forget the immodium.
"Club Hotel Riu Evrika review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Great hotel, Very large pool with probably the most sunbeds of any of the hotels. Whatever time we woke up there was always 5 sun beds available next to each other although the hotel had 1300 people.
Each room we had room to sleep 3 people had 2 bath rooms, a large balcony overlooking the free tennis courts.
Food was good and constant with breakfast lunch, snack and dinner.
There was free drinks taps including a self serve beer tap by the pool and a hotel bar giving free drinks to hotel guests on the beach.Daily entertainment to include Air rifle shooting, bolls, football, tennis water activities etc
The location is good next to some nice bars on the beach and about a 10min walk from the main bar club area. This walk was good though as it was along the beach which is lined with nice bars with beer at around £1.00 per pint.
In all a excellent resort and hotel with none of the fighting and police presence that a lot of the Spanish resorts now have, good for families and young people alike.I paid £330 for this all inclusive holiday with Eclipse direct and was well worth it.

"Club Hotel Riu Evrika review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Went here with wife and friends in june 2005 for the 2nd time after going with the wife the year before.
Couldnt believe the difference a year could make. sunny beach has just about doubled in size and they are still building !
Thats 2 years now i have been to the evrika and couldnt fault it. Rooms are huge and just what you want for a couple. Maids everyday and very pleasant.
Im not a fussy eater so the restraunt suited me to a T. Very clean and buffet style. Just the way i like it, haha. Maybe it does get a wee bit repetitive but with so many good and very cheap other eateries you wont mind going out a few times for a change.
Entertainments team are very friendly and good for a laugh. Worth going out later at night tho if u fancy something more lively.
pool area large and clean. Its in a lagoon style shape and great fun for everyone. Quieter pool out front of hotel if you want some peace to recover from hangover.
Small bar outside hotel is open 24hrs! perfect for a night cap on way home from nightclub. very friendly staff, naz, pete and deko to name a few.
Naz a great lad who booked us jet skis on beach from his m8. got discount even tho they dirt cheap so we payed him on one too.
Hotel in quiet area but not too far away from nightlife.
khans tent a good night out where u are fed, watered and entertained. Book thru rep quickly tho as this show is very popular.
Iceberg nightclub was my favourite out the few i was in as they had live music from a band as good as ive heard singing all kinds of music.
Would hightly recomend this resort and hotel and will be back. Maybe in 2006 again after ive been to goa in march. Not run that passed wife yet ! hee hee
