This Hotel Sun Palace was a very nice place to stay in Bulgaria. We went in September time and it was a last minute holiday we didnt kno what to expect. When we arrived at the hotel we were shown to our room and the room was very big for us which was nice. The rooms were to a high standard, everything seemed fresh, clean and new which made me very happy. We were staying in the 3 star block as there were a block of 4 star in the hotel and a block of 3 star in the hotel but for 3 star i was very imprressed, we had a balcony which we could sit out on and had a lovely view. We had a lovely pool area and was always busy so was hard to get sunbeds but this is the case in hotels most time. There was a nice bar and cafe around the pool. When we were staying there, there was a big group of young teenagers celebrating a prom from Germany they were fairly roudy but this wasnt really a problem. Only problem we had was the bar which gave out glass cups and one day some youths had left the glass around the pool and got knocked over and a little children cut her foot open on it. But this was probably the hotels staff fault as they should supply plastic containers. The hotel did have a mix of people there were many familys and couples and then there very party type groups. It wasnt a problem as everyone wants a good time on holiday. Just bare this in mind if thinking about booking this place as it is very mixed which some people could find annoying ect. Overall the hotel was of very good standard and very clean and i would return here again

just come home from a good holiday in sunny beach, the hotel sun palace was clean and the staff were friendly, but reading and listening to comments while we were there, the main problem is the food its very poor, we were there for 14 nights and veal in some form or another was served for 14 nights, the childrens corner was chicken nuggets, chips mash and croquets for 14 nights, thre is no evening entertainment and the bar is very poor always running out of glasses and little choice, we will go back to sunny beach but never to the sun palace

I stayed at the Sun Palace on All Inclusive. The food was always warm, however got a bit repetative after a 2 week stay. The childrens section was excellent. Entertainment is good throughout the day and we went out most nights and so i cant really comment. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff were excellent.

Would definately return

we found the Sun Palace Hotel poor. The food is awful and always cold, hardly any entertainment either for children or adults. The cleanliness of the hotel and dining areas was also very poor and the service left a lot to be desired. We would not recommend this Hotel and would never visit there again.

The good points about this hotel are that the hotel is spotless, the breakfasts are actually pretty good and it is very central in the resort, now for the bad points, lunch and dinner is like something u'd expect to be served up in a bulgarian prison(its all healthy grub but looks n tastes revolting), 90% of the brits that go to this hotel are total morons (urinating, spitting and graffitying the lift), fighting at 4am with anyone that happens to be about. The entertainment programme consists of a man putting a mp3 music disk on at 10am with 8hours of music on it, thats it throughout the day, at 8.30pm theres a kids disco for an hour(they play the same songs every night) that wraps up the hotel entertainment. pool area and sunloungers are in short supply so if you havnt got ur towel down on one by 9am then you wont get one. to sum it up i'd say dont book this hotel if you have a young family and are looking for a quiet holiday cos u'll have a lot of sleepless nights like we did, if you are one of these idiots that goes on holiday and drinks alcohol from when the bar opens till it closes then this is the holiday for you. bulgaria is a great country though and id go back again, its pretty cheap aswell, we spent £800 in 2weeks and we ate out most days and went on excursions etc and that was 2 adults and a child.

hotel appears great on arrival.all staff are very young with no people skills.as an all inclusive hotel food was a very poor standard.staff shouting at guests in dining room for taking food from kids section, though they were getting food for their kids.pool unclean many children ended up with ear infections.resort itself was great very cheap to eat out though, which we ended up doing on our second week.

Sun palace on arrival all impressed, rooms and hotel clean we stayed in the 4* section of the hotel. The brouchure is quite different from the actual advert hotel as no kids club and the kids play area was a swing, poolside bar did not have soft drinks only beer or spirits, entertainment was non-existent until we complained for a week and kareoke was added. The place was catering only for Germans the food was cold and stews all the time, no desserts and the snacks were biscuits. They did not cater well for kids as no burgers hot dogs etc.The manager and Balkan rep were unhelpful.

Bulgaria itself was very cheap and clean i would return but only as self catering as very cheap to eat out. I would say DO NOT BOOK this hotel unless you take extra money to eat out, i would say a lot of health and safety issues to be looked at about the hotel ie:glasses at poolside, kids in restaurnat with wet feet going for soft drinks and while the food was being set out for the lunch etc.

Just returned from two glorius weeks at the sun palace.Very hot 44 degrees most days.

BALKAN
Would never fly with Balkan again flight to bulgaria awful, bad turbulance all the way never took our seatbelts off.One of our party has never flown before and suffered a panic attack ,stewardess walked past and sniggered at him not one of them helped at all. Everything done very quick as soon as you have got a drink you have your food then its duty frees while your still eating. Meal was ok chicken rice and salad both ways.Never once saw a Balkan rep while we were on holiday.

HOTEL
Very impressed when we arrived ,2am porters very helpful with luggage ,we all recieved a packed lunch and bottles of water which was great.Hotel is very clean and the maids work hard all day long. Most of the staff were misrable expecially the waitresses and bar staff.Food ok you could get pancakes and bacon and egg for breakfast.Snacks available all day long .Check the bbq chicken as it can be pink.Ate out mostly as food was always the same veal stew , chicken stew and chips. Entertainment at the hotel was very poor three times a week they have pool games which are always the same and evening games that last about an hour. The beauty salon in the hotel is very cheap staff barly speak english, we had our nails done there and one of the staff was asleep on the sofa next to us.

RESORT
Sunny Beach is great very cheap to eat out, for seven of us a night out with two courses each and drinks would cost about £50.Lots of stools selling the same things bags ,beads and belts everywhere.

BARS/RESTRAURANTS
Would recommend ;
CHILLI PEPPERS - on the main strip is excellent best breakfast ever proper tea ,staff are great and Stavros outside is brillant very friendly and helpful.
CENTRAL - Opposite very good cocktails happy hour all night long ,Diddo outside is great aswell very relaxed and friendly.
SPIDER - Very good cocktails
BROTHERS - Very good food and value for money.
MAESTRO - Very good for kids have a magician show every night which is brilliant.
BEACH
Very clean with lots of sunbeds ,costs about six pounds a day for two beads and umbrella. Lots of people selling on the beach you don't have to move as you have people selling cocktails ,beers, donoughts, water everything.Beware of the jelly fish thousands around. We went on a pedalo about 50 yards out and they were everywhere.

EXCURSIONS
Would recommend Gipsy Camp if you have children brilliant night cost about twenty pounds and includes all food and drink. We did not see the baby of our group all night as they have childminders and take you children while you eating and watching the show.
Off road adventure is a must really good fun .
Nessebar is lovely lots to see the boat from sunny beach is a nice way to get there. If you get the train back beware as it drops you at the edge of sunny beach and you have a two mile walk back to the Centre.

OVERALL
Would go back to Bulgaria but would go self catering as its very cheap to eat and drink. Overall great holiday .

Sun Palace Hotel:

We stayed in the 4 star part of this hotel and u could not fault the cleani-liness of this place. The cleaners are at work all day and night and sheets and towels etc.were changed reguarly.
The hotel is in a brilliant location only 5 mins walk to the beach and the main drag, resturants, bars, clubs.

I would say that this hotel is definately suited more for the germans as it seemed that they didnt cater for the english.
The food was terrible unless u like scrambled egg and frankfurter sausage's every morning. These were the only things edible for the english to eat. The only selection they had was Salad, Meats and cheese- suited well for the germans.
The dinner was worse this was not even edible unless you are starving. The only english food they had was chips and sometimes (fishfingers) and you can only eat a certain amount of this!

DO NOT USE THE HOTEL PHONE AS I MADE 3 PHONECALLS TO ENGLAND AND WAS LEFT WITH A £45 PHONEBILL!
(Use the phoneboxes as they are much cheaper)

If you go to Bulgaria i would say go self catering as it is cheap enough to eat out every night.I think in the 2 weeks there we probably only had 4 nice meals! Dont expect an english breakfast here cos you wont find one anywhere.

The weather wasn't too bad we had 3 thunderstorms while we were there but they cleared up quickly and its back to being baking hot again. When it is sunny it gets very hot but not too unbearable. A few days were overcast and cloudy but after being in the sun for days it can be quite refreshing.

Balkan Holidays Flight:

Dont bother paying the extra supplement for the in-flight meal as all you get is a small cheese/chicken roll with a bit of lettuce and tomato (oh and a chocolate biscuit for dessert).
The aeroplane could do with being updated as there was no entertainment whatsoever for kids.No TV's or rado's. Fly with someone else if you can!!
Good point is the short flight journey to Bulgaria just over 3 hours.

The Resort:

Sunny Beach is a good resort very cheap for food/drink.
I would say that the resort is more for youngsters now than families!! The nightlife is brilliant if you like going to bars and clubs.

All in all Bulgaria is a nice place to visit but when we booked up we pictured it being somewhere different but found it to be exactly like Turkey, Greece etc.
Cigarettes very cheap if your a smoker buy Victory Blue only 90p a pack (20).
We were told not to buy cigarettes from the boards on the streets as they are apparently fake but i got Bensons and they are fine.
Bulgaria is a nice place and would recommend a visit to nessebar when your there as you can escape the loud, buzzing nightlife and enjoy the peaceful part of Bulgaria.

If anyone is thinking of going here for an 18-30 holiday i would say go for it as the nightlife is very good and you wouldnt need half as much money as other clubbing resorts but it still doesnt beat Ayia Napa or Malia.
Take a fair bit of spending money and an extra case for the shopping as you can get some good bargains here- designer bags and the jewellery is very cheap you can pick up Tiffany bracelets and stuff for half the price in the UK.

(Try the Globus Hotel if your english)
