"very nice"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Firstly I would just like to say that this is one of the best holidays I have ever had. I must say I was pretty worried about the hotel before I even got there because of reading the reviews but it was so much better than I expected. Hotel staff were very friendly and I had no trouble communicating with them as they spoke good English. Wesley the First Choice Rep was first class and gave us all the information we needed to have an enjoyable holiday. For Breakfast you could choose to have toast, cereal, fried breakfast, fruit,Salad, croissants and a selection of biscuits. There was also a choice of tea, coffee, orange juice or water. The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom, air conditioning, fridge, a balcony and a satellite TV.

"Great holiday!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I was very worried prior to going to this hotel after reading lots of reviews but the Yavor Palace was fine. I've stayed in 2-3* accomodation in other countries and they were far more basic and less clean than the Yavor. We stayed in room 356 which is in the corner over-looking the pool and it was great. The rooms had maid service every day with towels being replaced every 2nd day.
Our experience was that people wanted to moan about the most basic of things. If you want your holiday to be perfect then I would advise booking 5*. If you don't nit pick then you will have a good holiday in the Yavor.
I can be a nervous traveller at times but I felt very safe in the Yavor hotel and in the resort generally but we were careful about how much money we carried and I never took a bag out with me. I kept my mp3 player locked in the case in my room and took the keys with me each time I went out as people mentioned having stuff stolen from their rooms in previous reviews. I even took ear plugs with me as I had read reports about noise but it was fine. According to information placed at reception there is a warning system and fines in place for those who cause disturbances. Whether that is enforced or not I don't know as we did not have any bother. Make sure you shower before 8pm as the water is cold.
The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of the resort but sits back from the main strip and therefore there is little noise. Be careful of all the people who whizz about on scooters and golf buggies persistently tooting their horns for you to get out of the way. They are allowed to drive in the pedestrian areas and they drive you mad.
There was a problem with the pool when we arrived and it was closed for 2 days. I used to work in swimming pools and I know that the pool was repaired and back in action in the correct way within that time. There was no need for it to be emptied and it was perfectly functional in a couple of days. The Kuban hotel next door has a wonderful pool which sits parallel to the Yavor pool so it wasn't a big inconvenience to use theirs despite the moaners making a song and dance about it.
In terms of this resort I would advise that you exercise some caution in terms of watching how much cash you take out at night etc and just be aware that it is a poor country. After reading previous reviews we didn't take any valuable jewellery on holiday and didn't leave anything valuable lying around the rooms.
If we had listened to previous reviews we would have missed out on a great holiday! We really enjoyed staying at the Yavor. The breakfasts were plentiful and lots of choice available, even for a very fussy eater like me.
I guess what you have to remember is that for every bad review there are probably hundreds of people who have had a great time. It's just that as a nation (uk) I presume that people are more likely to take the time to complain that to write about the positive experience that they have had.
Enjoy!

Overall Hotel Rating:
Very good hotel that allowed everyone to do their own thing. I would highly recommend it. While we were there, there was a hurricane and massive downpours, and thet still carried on as per normal helping out wit everything.

"BASIC"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just returned from this hotel 15/08/2009. We arrived 11.30pm, checked in went up to room in one of the smallest lifts. We had two rooms, my husband & i in one, our son & nephew in another. My room was okay but my sons room had no shades on lights, damp along the bottom of wall behind the single seat. No shades on lights on stairs. The pool well i have never seen anything like this but you could not see the bottom of the pool, it was filthy. It had to be cleaned whilst we were there so 2 days with no pool. Thank god for the kuban hotel next door. Food okay as wefound it the same everywhere we went, very bland. Management not very cheery but barman was lovely. Please check other hotels & prices before booking.

"Yavor Palace June 2009"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Excellent base in the middle of the resort, would definately reccommend for bed & breakfast. Rooms kept immaculate every day, but make sure you specify a pool veiw. Nice pool and for a small charge you can use the pool/water-slides of the hotel next door. Also the gym next door only costs 5 lev. Towels do start being left on sunbeds before 07:00 but you can usually still get one around 10:00. Well worth a visit.
*Enjoyed a day in Nessebar which cost a grand total of 1 lev each way on the bus. Don't pay the rep 30 lev to go there with them as some did. Same with the water park.

"yavor palace"
Overall Hotel Rating:
just came back from bulgaria today after staying at yavor palace hotel the hotel couldnt have been situated in a better place as it was close to shopping nightlife and the beach. hotel staff were very freindly and the reps were fantastic. cleanliness of your hotel room depended on your maid we didnt get clean towels every day infact if we wanted them changed we had to leave them on the floor, however my nighty was always folded perfect on top of my pillow. the hotel food was edible breakfasts better than evening meal but the beans were always cold in the morning at night there wasnt much choice for children just chips or potato smiles and the same type of cakes for pudding were put out every night for the whole of our two weeks there, they also put one bowl of trifle out every night for the whole hotel. you had to be up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed and they were never washed down the whole time we were there, but will be going back to bulgaria next year but at at a different hotel

"Hotel Yavor Palace"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Arrrived at hotel at 7-30 am got booked in and went to our room, the lift was small and could barely hold three people with suitcases. The hotel was well situated for the beach and also for shopping, staff were friendly enough and were always about, we booked a late room as we had our grandson with us and as our return flight was not until the early hours thought that he would be able to get some sleep before we got to the airport only to be told at the hotel and not the travel agents that a late room was only till 6 pm our flight was at 5-30 am. The food in the hotel was absolutely deplorable, cold, half cooked and disgusting to look at, it is a bad state of affairs when I have to say that the McDonalds food was excellent compared to the stuff that was being served in the Yavor Palace. I would recommend anyone staying in this hotel to go self catering as there are many good places to eat without the risk of food poisoning.

"Yavor Palace - Really Good"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The Yavor Palace was great. All the staff from bell boys to the maids were really nice and efficient at their jobs. Room was cleaned everyday and we were given fresh bath towels daily. Our room was small but it was good to lie down and relax and even the tv had a decent english language movie channell! (good for when you are exhausted from the heat and need an hour in the shade) The balcony didnt have the greatest view but we were on the 4th floor and it was at least private, so we could chill out. The pool area was clean though you have to get up mega early to get your towel down! The breakfasts were okay but i introduced myself to oats and yoghurt which i had never tried before. The only downside I can think of is that the booze at the hotel bar is slightly dearer than outside but hey ho, we were out and about most of the time anyway. The hotel is close to everything in the resort and righ next to the bus that takes you into the wonderful Nessebar (a nicer place you will struggle to find in my opinion). I would recommend to all people of all ages as it caters for everyone and i dindt in the whole two weeks there see anyone complaining at reception or to their reps. Me and my girlfriend travelled on the 30th June - 15th July.
One wee minor note - ignore First Choices spiel about sitting together on the plane home! Its a lot of rubbish and you will also find that the excursions they offer can be bought cheaper outside the hotel, Condor Travel for instance.

"First time in Bulgaria"
Overall Hotel Rating:
For a 2 star hotel we thought this hotel was good the room was clean but we did not have our linen or towels changed as was stated in the brochure for the week we were there. Brekfast was ok but we just had yougurt & fruit did not fancy a fry up. The staff were always plesant. We only used the pool twice as all the sunbeds were taken with people putting towels on & not using just like the Germans but they were all english which is sad. The resort was 24-7 which is good if you are in your twentys you could get a drink or something to eat at any time. Hotel in the center which is a brilliant location.

"Surprised"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Travelled to Yavor Palce with First Choice. Must say I was not looking forward to staying here after reading reviews on this and many other sites. Well, I need not have worried. We arrived at 4am and were checked in quickly, as the bell boy was busy we set off in search of our room which was located on the second floor. Found room and Hotel to be very clean with a nice pool view. Both bars were clean with friendly bar staff, although I did find it strange how they measured out the spirits. Reception staff were responsive and polite at all times always on hand to solve small issues such as extra pillows and the like. i must say I did find the food to be some what bland at times and of the cheaper variety, but there was always something to our liking. Had read reports of food being cold and to some extent this is true,i.e beans poured straight from the tin into the hot plate to warm. but I can,t say this caused a major problem, after all the food was edible and lets face it your not in the U.K. I would like to point out that although the restaurant area is clean some of the staff are rather sullan, but perhaps that has some bearing on the culture. Pool area was cleaned every day and the water although cold ( it was June ) looked clean. Tended to go to beach most days but did notice towels reserving beds. When will us Brits get out of this crazy habit? The Hotel is situated in a great central position only a stroll from the beach and bus stops. Overall I would say give this hotel a go in my experience it is not as bad as most have said, perhaps some people are just too picky our else there expectations are just to high, maybe they should try Butlins.

"Hotel Yavor Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
from the start i was concerned about going to sunny beach.our flight was delayed and they had barely enought staff for the flight. when we got our luggage we went through a rather small, dusty airport.it was dimmly lit and there were bins full of rubbish and flys galore. there was no rep and we went out into the car park to find the coaches old and smelly. it was 4 am and no one was in a good mood. the first drop off was to a hotel next to a sex shop (nice for my child to see). on arrival there were staff lounging about in the bar area with music plaring through the first floor. a bell hop helped us with our luggage.he looked like he could do with a good meal and a shower. the room was fine on first looking (there was a double bed and a single bed with shower and toilet room ,tv and veranda) the next morning we found ants and wevels crawling on a patch on the carpet floor. there was little or no intervention from management thoughout our two week stay. everything was heeped on the first choice reps.they were at a loss about the hotel and could not do much about there hell hole of a hotel. anyway back to the revew.. food: discusting,i wouldnt give it to a dog, flies everyware with no staff caring about food safety.all the food was re cooked for next day. pool area: in the two weeks we stayed at the yarvor some one pooed in the pool 3 times and they were'nt baby poo either!!! a whole bunch holidaymakers, when we were there had stomach bugs from food and pool.(a whole family were hospitalized because of it on our first week) excursions: we payed for 3 but after the first one (bulgarian evening)we decided to cancel, the rest ,because of the poor lack of comunication and the fact of a totaly crap night we had. (we got shoved right to the back and was given childs meals that were raw chicken, cabbage and salt potatoes.the wine was like vinegar and the entertainment was what you could find in any bulgarian bar along the street) beach: dirty, unkempt and full of jellyfish. my husband had the misfortune of deciding to sit in poo that was barely covered over. bulgarian people: not bad but beware of pick pockets and bar staff that will try to rip u off. dont expect change of off them unless u ask for it . i am not a perfectionest but this holiday was the pits and i would never recomend it even to my worst enermy. if you do want to go to sunny beach try the alba hotel and go further along to a nicer part of the beach. good luck!!

"Hotel Yavor Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Sunny beach is a great resort which I would definately return to.I was there 1-9th october and felt things getting a bit quiet in the last few days. When I go back I will go early to mid September to avoid seeing places shutting down. Don't know what the people who arrived at the end of my week will do as there wasn't a lot left open. The Yavor palace is in a great location but should only be rated as a 2 rather than 3 star. The rooms are clean but basic, saying that the bathrooms are very spacious and have great showers with constant hot water. The food is not so good, at breakfast you should manage to find something suitable. I would advise you don't go half board as the food at night is quite poor. It's not presented very well and lacks choice particularly if you have kids. The reception staff didn't go out of their way to be pleasant and just did basic requirements when asked. The bar staff particularly Cissy were very nice and helpful and Jimmy the barman was quite nice to look at! Places to go for me would be Corner bar, Spider bar,Mamacitas, Djannis were you'll eat and drink cheap. Watch out for the chinese opposite the spider bar as it ain't really chinese, more bulgarese! All in all I had a great time, met nice people and will be back in Bulgaria at some point, probably not to the Yavor palace unless it's a cheap B& B deal.
