Excellently located 'cheap and cheerful' hotel in downtown Toronto. Rooms are of a decent size and are clean and tidy with laundry/towels changed every day if required. This is a great base from which to do all your exploring with a 5 minute walk to Yonge St where all the major shopping/food areas are and about 1/2 hour walk to main attractions! Pool and small gym area are both fine - if you get time to use them! Caeser Spa just off the hotel lobby is well worth a visit. The Hot Stone massage was amazing (and half the price in the UK) and the other treatments very good too. Safety deposit boxes are free of charge ($100 fuly refundable deposit) and rooms can be kept on for late check out at no extra cost in most instances.

Out of hotel and left to the intersection of Carlton and Church St (appx 2 mins) is Daybreak cafe - great place for breakfast. Portions are huge (this seems to be the theme in Canada!) and for appx £3 you get a breakfast fit
for a king with as much coffee as you can drink. Staff are friendly and service is great.

Other good places to eat - on Yonge St at the Atrium centre 'The Pickle Barrel' and Red Lobster , both highly recommended. Good curry from D'haba (King St West) down in Theatre Land. Chinese (The Spring Roll in the Atrium) very nice but bit like a production line - felt very rushed eating meal even though it was good. Under ground food areas on the Paths are very good too with huge portions for between £2 - £8! Tipping is expected at between 10 - 15% of the bill.

Must do's = CN Tower (of course) just do the basic tour to both of the viewing platforms and glass floor. Sightseeing tour on Bus - really good as you can hop on and off as much as you like and ticket is valid for 3 days. Shopping at the Eaton Centre and Yorkville with bargains galore. Bata Shoe Museum on Bloor St - excellent even if you are not that into shoes, The ROM (Royal Onterio Museum) - under expansion until early 2007 but well worth a look round, some exhibit have been closed but the price has been reduced to reflect this. Take a walk through Queens Park as its lovely to find a bit of green in the middle of the city! Niagra - We were glad we went as its a long way to go and not see it but were slightly disappointed, but everyone will have their own view on it! Duffrin Mall - huge out of town shopping mall appx 20 mins on underground.

A HUGE mention must go to Zoom Airlines who were first class (we've flown a lot of long haul and these guys beat some of the supposedly 'better' airlines and are much cheaper!). We booked the seats a bit apprehensively as they seemed cheap compared to others (£178 economy return plus taxes or Premium £318 return plus taxes) however there was nothing to fear. The whole experience was first class, food, service, in flight entertainment, comfort - the premium seats are great with a 36"; seat pitch - for a small additional amount you can pick your seats online and pre book. I would definitely use them again - they fly all over Canada and would highly recommend them.

When leaving the airport consider getting a cab if 4 or more as its much cheaper than getting the shuttle bus (which doesn't go direct to Days Inn) - it saved us about £20 in total and much more conveinient.

Enjoy!

This hotels excellent value for money. Great position lots of bars, coffeee houses, and very cheap restaurants around. Two family restaurants close by 24hrs. all u can bkfst at the family griddle accross the road great value at weekend. Small 24hr supermarket opposite hotels. Subway on corner. Easy waliking distance for centre of toronto. Was a bit concerned as the hallways are very dark and drab in the hotel but the rooms are quite brightly decorated with lots of space. Fridge and coffee machine Staff very friendly and helpful

Would highly recommend for a good value budget city hotel

Hotel was very central and execellent value for money.Staff were very friendly and full of local information. So much to do and see and not enough time.A city bus tour is a must , the ticket is valid for the entire duration of your stay. For breath taking views , go to the C.N. Tower go during day , morning is best.Lots of great places to eat and drink , all tastes are catered for.

Chinatown is also worth a visit ,the sights, sounds and smells, will have your sences in over drive. There
is also a great local market to visit, while there. You can also go `star spotting` as Toronto is used widely as a film location. There were 4 major films being made ,while we were there. And ,yes, we did spot a few; Steve Martin, Antonio Banderous,Michael Douglas.
Toronto is a great city and you`ll enjoy ant holiday there.
