beautiful unspoilt some of the most beautiful beaches in the world water too rough for swimming whilst we were there the red flag was displayed all the time we were there. The weather was absolutely gorgeous never saw a cloud inthe sky.

We were AI, but the prices in the hotel shop were very expensive, so don't forget anything, but the beaches were lovely

There is very little to do in the resort of Boa Vista - however it is sold as a peaceful chilled holiday so that was expected. Quad bikes are really good fun and it is a must to visit Santa Monica beach it is truly amazing. Weather is windy but the wind is welcome otherwise the heat would be unbearable. People are very friendly and will always try to help you.

Boa Vista is completely unspoilt. There is very little to see or do on the island and that's why it is simply relaxation heaven! There are no roads, no shops with the exception of a couple in Sal Rei nor any clubs bars restaurants etc. This is the resort for you if you want to chill out relax and unwind. The beaches really are stunning but the sea is quite dangerous as most times it has enormous waves and strong current. We love the tranquility and have now been here four times. Not for people who like to venture out and explore as there really is nothing other than the hotel complex.

Clue is in the title, I don't know exactly how far away it is from the nearest village, not that theres anything there but I would guess about 10 miles along a mixture of dirt tracks, cobbled roads and what we would consider normal roads. The scores I haven given above are low simply because the hotel is the resort, the beaches are very nice but if you can't enter the sea whats the point, all the other options are availiable but very expensive due to the cost of taxis to and from the restaurants as for nightlife and shops they don't really exist on Boa Vista unless you count souvenir shops where hard sell tactics are used to get you to buy very expensive poor quality african carvings. This resort is perfect for those who like to chill out or make use of the hotel facilities and activities, not a place for the holiday maker who likes to get out and about.

There is nothing to do in Santa Maria & you get constantly hassled by street sellers. Not worth a visit.

There is nothing else in the location other than the hotel. This was just what we wanted. The hotel was fully inclusive with buffet type eating & 3 themed restaurants which allowed us a good variation of eating.

for a fly and flop perfect sea was inacessable for most of the 2 weeks but we knew that hotel huge but it never felt like it also full but never crowded minimal queues staff always genuinely friendly will be back windy but without we would have fried the wind screens on the beach are ingenious suitable for all ages

Santa Maria beach is stunning, and we were surprised that so few people staying at the hotel had not experienced this beautiful expanse of sand and water only a short walk away. Tried four local bars, and there is only one we would recommend and that is Tam Tam (the Irish bar). Great food, drink and atmosphere.

Apart from the hotel, the island is very barren. We undertook 2 half-day excursions which enabled us to see everything of interest. There is no lighting outside of the hotel and nothing at all around it apart from the beach for miles and miles. Car hire is not recommended as apart from the road halfway to the hotel, the roads are verging on dirt tracks.

There is absolutely nothing to do outside the resort complex. If you just want to escape the winter weather, then this is the place for hot sun.

The resort consists of the hotel and nothing else - we were fine with that as just wanted to relax for the week by the pool. Nothing really to see except a shipwreak which you can go on a trip for, otherwise nothing esle really on the island. Lovely beach but due to the wind could only go in the sea two days out of the seven.
