Only went to Guardalavaca once to the market which was a waste of time, the stalls at the hotel are better. The beach is nice but there is nothing else there.

40 minutes from montego bay; quiet area; nothing to do in lucea for tourists; Montego bay in taxi is around $100 dollars round trip which is pretty expensie for a couple. If you are brave enough take the local bus for 70P = 100 jamaican dollars. Local staff are very nice. Beach etc is nice

only went there once on the open top bus trip to the local market. It seemed a very lively place and the beach looked busy.

this resort is suitable for evryone we were a group of 5 myself,husband brother-in-law and 2 grown up children aged 29 and 21,but its ust as suitable for couples old and young as well as families with young children,plenty to do and see if thats what you want and the Rep Doneski was fantastic.

To be honest,didnt spend much time "in resort" as holiday was mainly a lazy days at the hotel type. Taxis a bit expensive but there are a few excursions and sigtseeing trips if needed.

Not much in Guardalavaca itself - small market. Took open top bus there - extremely windy - then taxi (open top Ford V8) back to hotel. Great fun.

The beaches were not as good as we'd hoped. There was little night life but that suited us but because of the number of children that were there it was not a romantic holiday. Children were allowed in all the pools and restaurants which did spoil the atmospehere.

Once you are at the hotel, you are pretty isolated and reliant on buses, taxis or horse and trap. Bear in mind this is a 3rd world country under economic restrictions, that said resort staff professional and welcoming.
