We liked this resort, it was quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted. There are tourist attractions not too far away and the local town of Ocho Rios is about half an hour away and easily accesible.We loved the town with its local craft markets and Turtle Park, an oasis of cool on a hot day. We had no problems walking about the town and found the local people all very friendly and helpful. It was a joy to shop without being hassled, and we felt that prices were very fair.

To be honest we did not see to much of the resort we felt that we did not need to leave the hotel as every thing was there for us.

Lovely coastline and beautiful beach the beach where we were was a bit battered after hurricane Sandy so had a step in it

Very spacious and nice, well organised staff and helpful. Usual issues with towels on sunbeds at pool some were reserved at 8am and the people never appeared towels still there at 5pm!

Cayo Levantado is a beautiful island with lush gardens and gorgeous beaches. Apart from the arduous transfer from Puerto Plata, this island is wonderful. It is very steep in places so it is good to have a walk each morning and work off some breakfast calories!. There is a public beach, which is enormous.. how it works is that hotel residents have access to the public beach, but during the day until 6pm, other visitors come to the beach to sunbathe etc, and on the beach during the day - the bar and sunbeds are not part of the all inclusive. but at night when it is exclusive to the hotel again the bar is all inclusive for you. There are some amazing views but you need to explore the island a bit to see them. The gardens are exceptionally well kept. The beaches are beautiful. the sea is quite strong, and it is fun to play in it on the east part of the little peninsula. it is calmer on the west of the peninsula and on the public beach.

The title says it all. If you want a resort to go out in and do stuff outside hotel dont go to guardalavaca. Its purely a place for a beach holiday not a lot else. No real local shops unless you want home appliances and a tourist market which is good but very samety in what you can get.

Apart from Negril and Ocho Rios I personally love going to Montego bay. The people in Mobay are warm and friendly and there is a lot of things to do, attractions, sightseeing, beaches, restaurants, shopping and just chilling out places.

We did not leave the hotel, so we did not visit the resort. As such it would not be right for me to make any comment.

We didn't spend much time out and about but what we saw was as we expected. The country is quite poor and this is reflected in the housing etc. The beach was fantastic as we expected and the people very friendly.

Great! The only drawback was that the beach was windy most of the time. But we knew that before going on the holiday.

We did not eat out or see any nightlife as the hotel provided for our needs. There was not a great deal to see in the town but we did visit the Rum Factory and went up the mountain in the cable car which was well worth it for the view. Paradise Island trip is great and also the waterfall trip but be warned it is quite a trek up there and you do need to be brave when jumping and sliding but it was fantastic fun.

Great location plus lots of excursions and varietie of days out to choose from. excellent beach white sands and nice water. Saona Island is a must :-)

We felt as British travellers that this was not for us there were very few British couples the resort catered purely for the American market

if you are a beach lover you will be fine as security staff are on patrol for all of the day, i would not recommend going off on your own tho.

We did not use any of the resorts facilities outside of the hotel .The hotel had its own Casino which had easy access and transport,also a Disco in the sister hotel for the party animals. Water sports were available on the beach which were not intrusive if you just wish to relax.
