lovely beaches and pools.but some couples like four sunbeds two in the sun two in the shade.and they set their alarms early get the sunbeds reserved then leave the empty till the afternoon

This resort is exceptional, there was no rowdiness or the feeling that the resort was overcrowded with there being only the one hotel on the island it was bliss. Loved it.

excellent nice and flat suitable for wheelchair access to all parts very safe for children and swimming in pools and sea.

Sadly Puerto Plata town is steeped in history but very neglected and falling down. Some of the colonial style buildings are being brought back to life and that is lovely to see. The government have yet to understand that by plowing money into the capital will encourage people to venture out and spend.

Cant really give a review of the resort as we did not leave the hotel. It is very third world and poverty is paramount. If you leave the hotel you have to sign out at the security point and leave your key so that if anything does happen it is not the responsibility of the hotel or tour company - this is what we were informed at the hotel.

Good lively town, with a must see, bar 62, offering affordable drinks ..fantastic live Cuban Bands, and salsa in the street, and the advantage of being able take an old classic American car turned taxi home at a reasonable price. Never once did i feel unsafe or ripped off,with locals as friendly as in the hotel.

The Hotel was the resort! There was nothiing to do outside the hotel unless we were fleeced by the organised trips. Resorted to hiring a couple of old american cars for the day with a guide at half the cost of the organised trip and was given help and god advise by the reps who were as helpful as they could be. The reps in the hotel deserve medals for the constant barage of complaints and hassle they get everyday beacuse of all the problems in the hotel along with having to visit all the guests ill in hspital!.

I could not do thier job but then I do not run my hotel in the UK as badly as this one is!. If my hotel was run as badly as this one is I would have either been closed down for hygiene reasons or gone bust years ago!.

A lovely resort, very spacious and well kept. I read alot of reviews about this resort/hotel before going there, and must admit that i was a little scared of what i would find when i got there. But what can i say...Do not believe everything you read. I would highly recommend this resort to anybody and would defo be returning in the future. A great selection of food, my kids just loved the desserts, cakes galore and a whole lot more. Men, do take a pair of long trousers if going to the restaurants, as you will not be let in otherwise. Fill up on starters as the man meal is like a show meal and is very tiny. The buffet is eat as much as you like, you just go up and take what and when you feel ready.

Outside the resort there is the local houses, the people there will often invite you in although they do not speak english, if you take a gift (clothes, toiletries and espcially kids clothes/toys) you will have friends for life. Do not feel scared or threatened if you get the odd beggar, if you say no they leave you alone. There is a market 10min walk from hotel with different items every day, I always buy so much from here it truely is amazing what they can make! This is also next to the public beach where they hold the beach party on a tuesday/thursday/saturday. There is a local nightclub called La Roca, the reps occasionally arrange trips here for guests then on to the beach party after. There are 3 shops and a restaurant/bar, I have never visited the restaurant - why pay for food when your all inclusive? the 3 shops are gifts, photography and cigar/cigarettes/alcohol. Other than this there is not much else to do than relax.

Lot of things to see & do, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent beaches. all inclusive, no other option.

The sun rises and then falls beautifully later into the sea with a red glow that fills the heart. which you can watch sat on the lovely white sands with a glass in your hand and great food to share with your loved one.

Beyond the tourist spots the people for the most part live in what some might regard as third world conditions. However these are changing and tourism is helping big-time in sustaining those positive changes. For total relaxation in a truly tropical paradise among the most friendly and considerate people (the Cubans are lovely). If youve never been, make this a must.

Other than the beach there was not much else to see in the resort, though there was plenty of shade provided by the hotel

Beautiful golden sandy beaches with pleanty to do. Some shopping areas for those who wish to browse and excellent excursions. Pleanty of sporting opprortunities for the more active holiday makers. We have put ideal for mature couples but it would suit every age group.

its a lovely palce to go and visit. i love this country so much and i go all the time to visitand visit the friend i have made out their.. when we go out in to the city will go with staff from the hotel and they will show us good place to visit
