Didn't really go out of the hotel much, but when we did all the locals were very friendly! The surroundings were beautiful and the resort looked lovely!

The beach is excellent but you are in the middle of the hotel zone so Varadero is a taxi ride away.

The best things to do while there are the monster truck, make sure you have pencils crayons and books for the children who are delightful. If you visit a school the teacher does not like them having sweets. Swimming with the dolphins was out of this world, it is a plane ride to get there and is also quite expensive but well worth it. If you like swimming with the sharks then the boat trip is also worth a visit.

Love the Bahamas, shopping was good, car hire easy and once you got over everyone honking their horn at you it was fine. They honk in a good way not like us!!! The locals were great, friendly and helpful. Found some great bargains at the markets and they barter well! Genrally a no hassle place with good food and plenty of shopping. Word of warning thou my Dad purchased a pair of "top" class diamond earrings for my mum's birthday and they cost about £2000.00 on returning home they are not GOOD quality at all and worth about £500.00. Just be careful.

Entertainment was good but we made our own entertainment most of the time. We made many friends with different guests during times around the bar! Lots of singing and dancing went on and a few cocktails thrown in!!!!! Take your own music unless you can sing!!!!

Almond beach spa resort is amazing. Situated on a beautiful beach used for the Bond film casino royale. The hotel next door was used also in the film and many celebs have been known to stay there. Lots of watersports available, boat trips to see turtles and conservation areas with many rare fish close by. You can swim in the sea at 7.30am and sunbathe until atleast 6pm everyday.

Club Tropicana We would both highly recommend, what an absolutely fantastic show, those girls had legs up to their armpits. (the men wern't bad either) Havana was great in that you could see all the old colonial buildings, and once again we met some really lovely people on our trips.

This was not the cleanest of places, lots of roadworks going on and generally felt like hardwork. We did hire a car and travelled around which was good once you were out of the hustle and bustle. Some fantastic views once you were on the higher ground.
If like me you are unfortunate enough to end up in Hospital (DVT) please make sure you carry a credit card with you cos they won't treat you without payment first!!!! It's a real eye opener and that was at the PRIVATE hospital!!

Negril is a laid back resort. plenty of good restaurants. 7mile golden sandy beach. see the cliff jumping at Ricks Cafe.
We took an excursion to the YS falls, much prettier than Dunns River Falls. The Black river we saw the crodiles, then from there we went to the Appleton rum factory - well worth the money for a full days excursion
