We mainly stayed in the hotel but did venture into St Johns occasionally. It is very good for diamond shopping.

The main beach is lovely soft coral sand and shallow water is great for young children. There are plentyn of loungers but the beach is quite small with a few cabanas, and some tree and 'sail' shades so prime loungers were taken early. Whilst we were there the resort was less than half full but the beach was quite crowded. If the resort had been full, space on the beach would be very limited. The small beach towards the reception was usually all but empty but it wasn't particularly inviting as the sea here is very weedy.. The water sports are good, kayaks, hobbie catss etc and as there are no motorised sport it makes it very restful and you can watch the pelicans diving for fish. There is some snorkelling but you need to go far up on the right hand side of the cove but you have to be careful as you can get buffetted towards the rocks. The pool was very good but its main drawback was the lack of shade, a few cabanas but that was all, no tree shade.

Lots of shops for tourists that include perfume, jewellery and alcohol. St Johns mainly caters for cruise ships, however it is well worth a visit.
