Love the Bahamas, shopping was good, car hire easy and once you got over everyone honking their horn at you it was fine. They honk in a good way not like us!!! The locals were great, friendly and helpful. Found some great bargains at the markets and they barter well! Genrally a no hassle place with good food and plenty of shopping. Word of warning thou my Dad purchased a pair of "top" class diamond earrings for my mum's birthday and they cost about £2000.00 on returning home they are not GOOD quality at all and worth about £500.00. Just be careful.

We are in love with this place and we got married here in Aug 2005 and we plan to return for our 5th wedding anniversary. Everything was great. The staff were just FAB, the suite was fantastic with a great view and the food was out of this world. We made friends with many of the staff who were always to hand, eager to help and went out of their way to make your day or evening special. Room service was good and nothing was too much trouble. The place itself was clean, tidy and well laid out. The restaurants were great and very well managed. The pool was nice but we spent most of our time on the beach as the sea was just so clear and great for snorkelling as it was very warm too. Can't wait to return.

We stayed here for one week as part of our honeymoon (1 week in Miami & 1 weekat The Atlantis - both fantasic)

I often read these reviews and never write anything myself but after staying at the Atlantis I have to say how fantastic it was. We stayed in the Beach Towers which were adequate, not as impressive as the Royal Towers or the Cove but we just have an excuse to go back.

We asked for an upgrade/room change but we had gone on an American Holiday apparently and the hotel was full or else I would have definately paid the extra for the other towers. If you are staying in the Beach/Coral towers dont feel too disheartend as the rooms are large and the beds queen size and you only sleep there. The hotel as a whole and the experience make up for not being in the plushest of rooms. (If you stay at the Cove then you do get plush)

We had a great meal every night, or favorite restaurants were Mosaic (buffet style with everything you can imagine) at The Cove, quite expensive but WORTH it, yum thats all I can say. Other fav restaurant was Seafires, best Steak ever!!!

The drinks and food were a little on the expensive side and the 15% tip added on automatically was slightly annoying but there wasnt anything you could do about it. After a few days you just got used to it. Just go thinking you'll spend alot and then anything you have left is a bonus

You must do the Dolphin Experience, it was a great experience, again this was expensive but worth it. You could swim with dolphins outside of the Atlantis and it was a bit cheaper but I just wanted to do it there.

We also did the Powerboat excursion, this was brilliant too. What a great way to see the islands and stop off at unspoilt islands.

Ok, now for the downsides...... our bags did not arrive from Miami so we had zilch.... being a girly girl I was distraught the airport staff were not compasionate or installed confidence that they would turn up. Luckily they came the next day but still ruined the first day. I therefore recommend taking bikini and other essential items in your hand luggage. Queues for food - this was only bad on the long weekend which was the American Holiday. I would recommend you skope out the restaurants you want to go to and ask the reception to book a table for you. You get a ticket and take that with you and dont have to wait around for your table.

Anyway, all in all fab,the slides, pools, beach, aquariums,Atlantis experience FANTASTIC.... I just want to go back

Our family party of four adults had a good time at Breezes. We travelled (own arrangements) for a friend's wedding. Yes, the US hotel guests were noisy and many had extraordinary tatoos, but we only saw one chap blind drunk in 8 days. The staff were very accomodating. The hotel's position means it takes the brunt of the tropical weather so the piano bar was a bit musty. The barman was charming and could mix "real cocktails", as well as the nasty brightly coloured modern stuff! Some people did not realise there was a whole city outside the hotel! We all enjoyed the Pirate Museum and Ardastra Gardens and Zoo. The flamingos were lovely.

We arrived after a Nine Hour Flight and on the way to the Hotel we completed a Registration Form given to us by the First Choice Reps.On arrival we all had been allocated rooms and the Booking In Process took only 10 minutes.
We decided to book a Junior Suite with a sea view this was excellent and great to wake up to each morning. The Room had a Mini Bar and Optics although my tipple was not one of them after mentioning to the Reps a bottle was deliverd and it was kept full for our two week stay.

There is a very good Buffet and they have special menues each day and Three Restaurants we found the best one to be the Traditional One the best but all were good but did not try the Japanes.
The staff were excellent and could not do enough for you although like many places they are laid back.
The temperature was in the high Nineties and this was a problem as there never seem to be enough Umbrellas around the pool and the Beach Umbrellas were Twenty Five Dollars per day or part of day.The pool filter broke down under the Heat and this made it messy so most of us used the Beach. If our American friends could have stopped drinking at the pool bar and spilling most of it then the pool would have been cleaner.
We enjoyed being next door to the Atlantis so we could go across there in the eveniong to wnader aroud the shops,Marina and Casino.

We went on three trips the best one not to be missed was the Powerboat Adventure an Exceleent Full Day feeding the Iguanas,Sting Ray and the Sharks and Two Thirty Minute Snorkling Trips plus a nice beach. We also did the Robinson Crusoe Trip this was good for the casual Snorkeller and a great Beach. We also went on the High Speed Ferry for a day to Harbour Island the cost of 160dollars included a 20 dollar lunch allowance and we had a Golf Buggy to tour the Island.

We did the Evening Dinner Cruise but unless you are realy bored it is not worth it.
We took Americaan Dollars and that was all anyone used.
The Two First Choice Reps Helen and Dave were fantastic and made our stay even better.

Flew with First Choice all flights were on time and very comfortable, I would recommend First Choice flights to anyone going long haul as the extra leg room and entertainment available make the long journey more bearable. Sadly the travel was the highlight of the holiday.
Behind the pleasant, modern facade and reception at Breezes lies the stark reality. Although as stated in other reports the beach is indeed very beautiful and the sea exceptionally clean and welcoming the hotel itself can be descibed in one word,";grotty";.

It is a throwback to the mid 1970's nightmare holiday to Spain days and in desperate need of a revamp. The room we were allocated was grubby, there were electric sockets hanging loosley from the walls, stains on the carpet and some areas had clearly not seen a duster or hoover for some considerable time. The sliding door to the outside only slid when great force was exerted though why you would wish to open it in the first place would be a mystery as it opens on to a six inch space which even Twiggy in her pomp would have difficulty squeezing on to. The ";protective"; rail to stop you falling was loose and hardly fit for the purpose, if you have children be warned, ours was downright dangerous.

The bathroom was of similar ilk, I had the misfortune to have some shower gel burst on to a pair of my trousers in my luggage, after dousing them with water in order to remove it I hung them over the shower curtain to allow them to dry. The excess moisture dribbled down the curtain and formed a mucky pool in the bath, it was not from my trousers I can assure you. Many of the fixtures and fittings were loose and a lot of the plumbing visible to the naked eye, there is obviously a shortage of carpenters in the island as nothing was boxed in or tidied up in this respect, call me fussy if you like but it would only take a piece of white plywood and a few screws for heavens sake.
The food at the hotel was passable though the large communal dining room was often crowded and the tables and chairs that you ate at did have a ";Ma Kellys Greasy Spoon"; feel about them. There was a wide choice of food available at all meal times although due to the buffet method of service not all of it was piping hot and we were careful of what we ate as should the same standard of cleanliness that was applied tio our room spill over into the catering I should imagine that food poisoning is a regular occurance.

The main bar was loud and noisy and had the same entertainment on a rolling weekly rota, the furnishings have to be seen to be believed, another throwback to the 70's, it was like Butlins on crack. At one point one evening I turned to my wife and said";This is just like the Pheonix Club."; The downstairs Piano bar was better however.
We did not us the pool, it looked grubby like the rest of the hotel, plastic drinks glasses were frequently seen bobbing in the surface along with cigarette ends.
The staff were quite friendly and helpful though as with anywhere in the Carribean you sometimes have to ask more that once to get what you want, the no tipping policy of the hotel may actually work against you in this respect.

All in all a very poor experience, I have stayed in worse places but I did not pay nearly as much for the privilage and basically got what I paid for. This report may sound a little vitriolic however I can tell you that we were not the only ones who felt this way about the hotel. Reception was frequently checking out guests who had arrived only the previous day, why didn't we join them? Well we did and went to stay at the Riu on Paradise Island and guess what? We made fiends with two other groups of holiday makers who had done the same the previous week. We also had several conversations with holiday reps (not First Choice) who had guests at the Riu who had moved from Breezes, one of whom said, and I quote, ";The place should not be advertised, I have told them they need to pull it from the brochures, the whole place needs knocking down and rebuilding.";
Enough said.

1st night put in terrible rooms, 2 standard and they were poor. Old and not had a lick of paint for what seemed like years. The rooms were also directly oposite the stage shows hence very noisy. Moved us 2nd day to bit better furniture and painted rooms. but all n all the accomodation needs revamping all over the hotel. 2* accomodation

5* entertainment, facilities, food and staff.

Beach and pool area can be a little crowded but always seemed to be beds available. Be careful not to leave food on your beds as the nuisance seagulls are a real pain.

USA, USA, USA yes full of them. Its ok but the Ibiza image they display with noise etc is loud and unpopular for us wrinklies ha ha

It washed out for 3 days so we went to visit the Atlantis Hotel wow. I suggest dont go on group trip go to the sales people and pretend your interested in purchasing a timeshare and ask that they take round the hotel and timershare we did and it was brilliant.

When it rained we also booked a flight on the hotel internet through aa.com and flew to Miami and shopped at Dolphin mall 30$ taxi single but it was quick and you then decided where and what to do not reliant on the shuttle bus at $5 each - your choice

The hotel has a trapeze, climbing wall and other things which are interesting. All worth doing. For the kids unfortunately not enough of them around to keep them entertained.

Well where do I start. We went to the Bahamas for a friends wedding, the wedding it self was wonderful, but everything else was a complete nightmare.

On arrival at the hotel we were not given the correct room upgrades, but none of the rooms were spectacular so it never really made a difference. Our room was damp for the whole 2wk stay, we asked our rep for a room change and the other room that was offered was also damp. The whole hotel was tatty and it hadn't even seen a paintbrush since it opened in 1983. Our bathroom ceiling was falling down and the patio doors leaked all over the carpets when it rained. We reported all this to the Virgin rep and she was absolutely rubbish, my partner even heard her laughing with another member of staff saying 'that they weren't her problems and she wasn't there to sort out our problems' I thought that was a reps job, please excuse me for mis-understanding.

We had to fight nail and tooth for a restaurant reservation most evening as the places to eat at the Radisson where only buffets so if you wanted anything a little more up market you were supposed to be able to use the Wyndham Hotel which was linked by the casino.

We were staying all inclusive so getting a table at the either of the Wyndham restaurant was a hassle as they only had 10 places per evening for all inc guest and to top this off I then got food poisoning on the fifth day of our holiday and was then in bed for five days, my partner then had to pay out for drinks for me as I wasn't able to leave the room and the bar wouldn't give us bottles of water and the only water they did supply was tap water!!!

There was no evening entertainment and there were only two bars to go to in the evening and one of those closed at 22:30 every night. The bars didn't have drink lists available so we ended up with the same cocktails every time we wanted a drink. We would never go back to the Radisson cable beach even if they offered us a free holiday. This wasn't a cheap holiday and it is the only the holiday we will be able to afford this year and it was a great disappointment.

We were a party of 19 varying in ages from 1 to 70. When we arrived at the hotel it was chaos, the First Choice rep was nowhere to be seen. There was a queue to get registered then another queue to get the keys. In all over 300 people checking in at the same time. We were then allocated rooms on high floors when low floors were requested when we booked the holiday 12 months previous. However the hotel staff kindly sorted the whole party to our individual needs.

Once we were settled into our rooms the holiday just got better and better. The hotel has been partly refurbishes in recent years, but the bathrooms need to be redone. The rooms were very comfortable with mini bar an optics. These were replenished daily. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff. The restuarants were excellent. However, the queue in the morning to book into the A la Carte, Japanese or Steak Restuarnt became a nuisence. There is absolutely no need to do this as the main resturant has plenty of choice and excellent tasting food. Being right next door to Atlantis where we frequently daily and sometimes evening for the casino this was an added bonus. The short ferry ride to Nassua was well worth the trip, Nassau is in need of updating. There are many designer shops in Atlantis and Nassua.

The Riu is right on the beach and has its owen water sports as a small price. The evenings entertainment left a lot to be desired, but if you like Karaoke and Bingo you will be fine. Swimming with the dolphins was the icing on the cake for our holiday.

We can deffinately recommend this hotel, and we will be going back. Upgrading on the First Choice aircraft was well worth it. On the whole First Choice were very good once the initial room problem was sorted.

We went to Breezes for our honeymoon, an had such a great time that we would go back!
Food and drink was plentiful, and there was so much choice! We both loved the buffet, and the 2 a-la-carte restaurants were romantic. The service in all these places was top class-we couldn't believe people could be so friendly and efficient! We particularly enjoyed the free flowinf cocktails and sparkling wine.
There was so much to do on offer that you could never be board, though we most often opted to sit back and relax at the beautiful beach and pool. There are folks on the beach selling trips, jewellery etc but if you're not interested then they go off happily when you say no thanks.
Defo reccomend the powerboat adventures, amazing day!!!!!!!! We also enjoyed a very boozy night at Senor Frogs- it was a very good laugh!!
I wouldn't reccommend this hotel to people who want a very quiet time, but people who want a bit of fun. The rooms are clean, and have basic amenities- all you need (though thought a wee fridge with some beers would have been nice too!).
The weather was great- take high factors! We had 2 days of heavy rain, but the rest of the fortnight was scortching!!
We both had a good time - enjoy!!!

There are problems with this hotel, but you can work the place and keep away from the bad points.
The bahamas is an amazing destination, absolutley fantastic!!! The hotel offers a range of different, good quality, diverse meals for 20hrs a day and it is true that you don't have to spend a penny whailst you are there (unless you choose to do the external excursions (around £100 but worth every penny)!! (ISLAND ADVENTURES/ POWERBOAT ADVENTURE where you feed sharks, snorkell the coral reefs, visit iguana island and other uninhabited islands!

PROBLEMS
1. you wont get in your room at 3pm as prommises (they will be putting on the pillowcases)listen out for it!!!
2. The rooms are crp and not on par with the rest of the hotel
3.BUTLINS FOR THE YOUNG AMERICANS...by far the thing that spoils the place, they sup the free booze all day long and act like idiots - they do however come out to the pool area very late and they all go to the disco in the basement at 11pm which is easily avoided!
4. The place attracts idiots!

REASONS TO GO
1.The food is excellent
2. The staff are very friendly
3. The bahamas is outstanding
4. the **ideal** place for groups
5. Trapeeze lessons, mixology lessons, wall climb, tennis, piano bar (after 11pm) are great, you wont get this anywhere else

SUMMARY - if you are 16-30, and you will take advantage of the stuff that the hotel has to offer and you can ignore the idiots twice a day, you will have the best time!!
If people knew what to expect, and it was promoted more honestly, the hotel would have better reviews. I WOULD GO BACK THERE - NOT DUNING AMERICAN SCHOOL HILIDAYS THOUGH!!! ***DO NOT GO SPRING BREAK!!!!****
