"Radisson Cable Beach And Golf Resort review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Well where do I start. We went to the Bahamas for a friends wedding, the wedding it self was wonderful, but everything else was a complete nightmare.
On arrival at the hotel we were not given the correct room upgrades, but none of the rooms were spectacular so it never really made a difference. Our room was damp for the whole 2wk stay, we asked our rep for a room change and the other room that was offered was also damp. The whole hotel was tatty and it hadn't even seen a paintbrush since it opened in 1983. Our bathroom ceiling was falling down and the patio doors leaked all over the carpets when it rained. We reported all this to the Virgin rep and she was absolutely rubbish, my partner even heard her laughing with another member of staff saying 'that they weren't her problems and she wasn't there to sort out our problems' I thought that was a reps job, please excuse me for mis-understanding.
We had to fight nail and tooth for a restaurant reservation most evening as the places to eat at the Radisson where only buffets so if you wanted anything a little more up market you were supposed to be able to use the Wyndham Hotel which was linked by the casino.
We were staying all inclusive so getting a table at the either of the Wyndham restaurant was a hassle as they only had 10 places per evening for all inc guest and to top this off I then got food poisoning on the fifth day of our holiday and was then in bed for five days, my partner then had to pay out for drinks for me as I wasn't able to leave the room and the bar wouldn't give us bottles of water and the only water they did supply was tap water!!!
There was no evening entertainment and there were only two bars to go to in the evening and one of those closed at 22:30 every night. The bars didn't have drink lists available so we ended up with the same cocktails every time we wanted a drink. We would never go back to the Radisson cable beach even if they offered us a free holiday. This wasn't a cheap holiday and it is the only the holiday we will be able to afford this year and it was a great disappointment.

This hotel was excellent and everything up to standards! Had a brilliant time. Would recommend this hotel and First Choice as both were excellent! Beach and pool area on the hotel were fantastic and have plenty of space. Reccommend travelling about September time as you miss out on the busy American holiday break, which is between june and august, and the weather is still fantastic. Wasn't crowded at all.
They have 6 restaurants which are all excellent, have plently choice servng a wide variety of food to suit all tastes. We recommend doing the excursions as these are a once in a lifetime opportunity! we did dolphin encounter, hartley's undersea walk (which is unbelievable!!!) and powerboat adventure. got to say the powerboat was the best of them all as you spend all day on a secluded island were you get to got snorkelling, feed the rays and pull the sharks in!!! (if your brave enough!) and you also visit a small island which is full of iguanas which you can feed if you want to.
overall this was a fantastic holiday down to the last detail!! would reccommend it to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5*****

Just back from a great holiday at the Radisson. Lovely hotel and grounds opening out onto a great beach. Pool area spacious with lots of beds, no getting up in the middle of the night with towels. On a negative note, not enough parasols by the pool or on the beach if you like shade. Coral reef just off the beach, can walk to it depending on tide, lots of colourful fish, barracudas etc good snorkelling.
Not been all inclusive before so didn't know what to expect. We found the food excellent. Plenty of choice, buffet for breakfast and lunch and 6 restaurants to choose from on an evening. British people in the minority so we tended to stick together and met some lovely people. Trips - Swim with Dolphins and Powerboat Adventure were both excellent. Found Nassau a bit of a dump and I missed the Mediterranean type resort where you can have a walk around on an evening after your meal before the drinking begins.
However would recommend the Radisson to anyone visiting the Bahamas

this hotel was brilliant, alltough i would not recommend traveling with virgin, as the flight i was not direct, defently try this hotel.
myself and my husband went to this hotel to get married and i would recommend it to any one, the staff doen every thing for the wadding and we just sat back and relaxed.
i would not say this is a family hotel as the bars close at 9pm for children, so youare left sitting in the lobby area which gets really busy. it is great for couples as the night life is great their is always something going on.
the rooms are great and they are cleaned daily, we were on the 8th floor and the view was out of this world.
the beaches are white sand and the sea is clear blue, the pools are rather cold but still nice to look at.
the food was really nice wish i could of stayed longer.
overall i think this was the best holiday/ wedding we could of asked for, the staff were so friendly and could not do enough for you, the virgin rep was not much help, but how often do you use them any way. we would love to go back.

This destination was the second part of our 'adventure',having just completed an exhausting but thoroughly enjoyable week in Florida visiting the theme parks.
We took a short connecting flight from Orlando to Nassau. The hotel was particularly busy on our arrival - in fact it was fully booked initially - mainly with American's attending what seemed to be wedding after wedding!
Unfortunately, we didn't get the room upgrade we had been expecting, having booked over a year in advance with Virgin, and we are still doing battle with them now - we wish we had used another tour operator, especially in view of the amount of money the whole holiday cost. All this aside, the hotel was very good and the beach was fabulous - pristine, white sands just as the brochure depicts.
Although there were 7 restaurants, not all open at the same time, in fact, the buffet restaurant (Bimini Market Grill) only opened at lunchtimes when we were there, which was a pity as the buffets were excellent. Amici's (Italian) was fantastic, as was Avocado's - which was slightly more up-market, but we were a little surprised at some of the attire worn to this restaurant. The Forge was a great experience - you literally had a barbeque in the centre of your table and had the opportunity to cook all your own food - it is also a great way of meeting people as if, like us you are in a small group you are allocated on to a shared table, which we appreciate isn't everyone's cup of tea, but we certainly enjoyed it! Islands (Caribbean cuisine) was also very good, as was the Dolphin Grill (for daytime snacks by the poolside). If we had a slight criticism to make of the food, it was not very varied, especially breakfast which didn't change in the whole week we were there and we were actually craving for vegetables by the time we left! (There's only so much meat you can eat!!)
The daytime entertainment however was particularly good, with Nutanse (We're spelling her name as it's said!) co-ordinating. There was anything from water aerobics, beach volleyball and quizzes to name but a few events and we quickly became firm favourites with her as we would always join in! The swimming pools were lovely, if a little chilly, but it was approaching the winter season when we visited. In fact the weather was superb for the whole week. We like to get our money's worth when we go on all inclusive so the only time we left the complex was when we swam with dolphins on Paradise Island - an experience not to be missed.
Parts of this hotel are looking a bit shabby, and we're not entirely sure it is worthy of it's 4 star status, but all things considered with the really friendly staff who can't do enough for you, this was a truly memorable vacation (as the American's say!)and one we would love to repeat when we win the lotto!!

"Radisson Cable Beach And Golf Resort review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
When looking for a family resort in the Bahamas, its true to say that it was like finding a needle in a haystack. The majority of hotels are catered for honeymooners and couples, so when we discovered the Radisson we were pleasantly surprised. The Radisson caters for all with a kids club, poolside entertainment, bars, 7 superb restaurants, evening entertainment and if you havent already guessed from the name-golf!
Upon arrival what struck us most was probably the fact that the resort was full of americans! However, this turned out to be a pleasant surprise because not only are they incredibly friendly and fascinated by the British accent, they also seem to have a culture less excessive in respect to alcohol which was a relief since the majority of holidaymakers are on all inclusive and can therefore drink from dusk til dawn if they wish. With the comfort that our resort would not be swarmed by lager louts we proceeded to take advantage of all the facilities offered at the Radisson.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are truly fantastic with as many pastries, cuisines and deserts as you can stomach (The Forge Restaurant became a favourite of ours as you cook the food right in front of you). It was therefore a relief that there were extensive gym facilities and 5 pools in order to burn off all the excess calories you can expect to consume during your stay!
During the day we found ourselves lazing around on the white sand beach which is always buzzing with Carribean music as well as soaking in the outdoor jacuzzis and playing watersports.
In the evenings the Radisson really comes alive. With stand up comedy, live dancers who take the audience around the first floor of the hotel in a parade, karaoke nights and live bands until 2 each morning its definitely worth staying up. What really makes the atmosphere though is the laid back and approachable nature of other people who you will find yourslef conversing with through the night at the Goombay Bar.
The Radisson came across to me as a resort full of classy people. For example, it is considered bad etiquette to walk around with just a bikini top on and everyone tends to dress up somewhat for dinner. This is not to say that it has an uncomfortable ambiance, it is more a relaxed place where everyone has mutual respect for each other.
The island of Nassau itself is truly picturesque. The purpose of our visit was actually a wedding at the Sandals which was just as beautiful but exclusively for couples so less lively as the Radisson. We also ventured out to the city to see the straw market and get a taste of Bahamian day to day life. However, the wide majority of activities can be found on resort (including a casino, shops and a masseuse) so we tended to spend most of our time at the Radisson.
All in all its hard to do the Radisson justice in just a small summary but i can honestly say it was the best holiday i've experienced. It truly caters for all and although its pricey, your experience will be unforgettable!
