We arrived after a Nine Hour Flight and on the way to the Hotel we completed a Registration Form given to us by the First Choice Reps.On arrival we all had been allocated rooms and the Booking In Process took only 10 minutes.
We decided to book a Junior Suite with a sea view this was excellent and great to wake up to each morning. The Room had a Mini Bar and Optics although my tipple was not one of them after mentioning to the Reps a bottle was deliverd and it was kept full for our two week stay.

There is a very good Buffet and they have special menues each day and Three Restaurants we found the best one to be the Traditional One the best but all were good but did not try the Japanes.
The staff were excellent and could not do enough for you although like many places they are laid back.
The temperature was in the high Nineties and this was a problem as there never seem to be enough Umbrellas around the pool and the Beach Umbrellas were Twenty Five Dollars per day or part of day.The pool filter broke down under the Heat and this made it messy so most of us used the Beach. If our American friends could have stopped drinking at the pool bar and spilling most of it then the pool would have been cleaner.
We enjoyed being next door to the Atlantis so we could go across there in the eveniong to wnader aroud the shops,Marina and Casino.

We went on three trips the best one not to be missed was the Powerboat Adventure an Exceleent Full Day feeding the Iguanas,Sting Ray and the Sharks and Two Thirty Minute Snorkling Trips plus a nice beach. We also did the Robinson Crusoe Trip this was good for the casual Snorkeller and a great Beach. We also went on the High Speed Ferry for a day to Harbour Island the cost of 160dollars included a 20 dollar lunch allowance and we had a Golf Buggy to tour the Island.

We did the Evening Dinner Cruise but unless you are realy bored it is not worth it.
We took Americaan Dollars and that was all anyone used.
The Two First Choice Reps Helen and Dave were fantastic and made our stay even better.

We were a party of 19 varying in ages from 1 to 70. When we arrived at the hotel it was chaos, the First Choice rep was nowhere to be seen. There was a queue to get registered then another queue to get the keys. In all over 300 people checking in at the same time. We were then allocated rooms on high floors when low floors were requested when we booked the holiday 12 months previous. However the hotel staff kindly sorted the whole party to our individual needs.

Once we were settled into our rooms the holiday just got better and better. The hotel has been partly refurbishes in recent years, but the bathrooms need to be redone. The rooms were very comfortable with mini bar an optics. These were replenished daily. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff. The restuarants were excellent. However, the queue in the morning to book into the A la Carte, Japanese or Steak Restuarnt became a nuisence. There is absolutely no need to do this as the main resturant has plenty of choice and excellent tasting food. Being right next door to Atlantis where we frequently daily and sometimes evening for the casino this was an added bonus. The short ferry ride to Nassua was well worth the trip, Nassau is in need of updating. There are many designer shops in Atlantis and Nassua.

The Riu is right on the beach and has its owen water sports as a small price. The evenings entertainment left a lot to be desired, but if you like Karaoke and Bingo you will be fine. Swimming with the dolphins was the icing on the cake for our holiday.

We can deffinately recommend this hotel, and we will be going back. Upgrading on the First Choice aircraft was well worth it. On the whole First Choice were very good once the initial room problem was sorted.
