Cayo Coco is a lovely place to visit. Beaches are the best I have seen, however the resort is a little on the quiet side. Pefrect for couples wanting to get away from it all and relax.

Cayo Coco is an uninhabited island that contains only hotels. Unless you go on organised trips to the mainland it is not worth leaving your Hotel as there is absolutely nothing to see or do! (Apart from Pilar Beach which is on the next island Cayo Guillermo)

Varadero was great, musts:- 1. Xanadu mansion, for a meal or drinks of a night or day, its magestic. 2. The steak house (i think thats what it was called) was amazing, the steaks were out of this world. 3. Get in one of those crazy old 30's style taxis, the one where your literaly sitting in the boot was so much fun. 4. Get in one of them little yellow dome shaped taxis, theyre great too. 5. The Beach!

Varadero review
"Iberostar Varedero, Amazing"
resort to a friend
The beach was very good and also had the hotels entertainers down there to make it more excitable and more things to do. The hotel was all inclusive and the food was very good, i wouldnt do it any otha way because the drinks in otha areas can be very pricey. Te night club at the hotel was very good to it just gave you something else to at night and listen to all types of music.

Would be nice to have a few bars off site but didnt matter too much because we were all inclusive. Horse riding was local to our hotel. we went twice and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A lovely island to visit, very different to see how other people live in different countries making Cuba a real eye opener. Fantastic island and go on the jeep safari if you get chance, a good way to enjoy seeing the island on a fun adventure.

Varadero is a party city, it has a great young community and everyone is really friendly. Its a great place to go if you want to mingle with the locals. Its also a great place if you want to learn salsa and offers a wide range of dance clubs.

Nacional de Cuba hotel This hotel was built in 1933 it was, until the revolution owned and run by the Mafia. This hotel looks from the outside like a palace it sits on top of a small hill overlooking the harbour and fort about 1km outside Havana. You can see when you enter that this hotel was clearly the place to be in days far gone. The opulance and splender is still visible.
The room we had was clean and pleasantly furnished. There was a smell of damp but given the age of the hotel and the fact not a great deal of money had been spent on it over the years it added to the charm. We did the Havana city tour and found it facinating. Habana as it's called locally is a city close to ruin but the people were amazing music abounds and people dance in the street at all times of the day. We were told/warned about cosntant beggars. We were bothered twice and when we politey refused we weren't bothered again. (I get more aggravation from the beggars in London) Club tropicana... what can I say...? it's been running since 1939 so they must be doing something right. Dont go to Habana and not see this show.
Veradero. We stayed 11 nights at the Sol Palmeras. Room. We stayed in a standard room number (3094) the room was quite large and overlooked the pool and the coconut palms. To the right was a sea view. The air conditioning was a tad noisy but then this isn't exclusive to Cuba. (Try the Hilton in Clearwater Florida) It was cleaned daily.
Pool/Beach. There are 2 pools all though they look like 1 seppareated by a bridge. The pool bar is at the centre. There is entertainment laid on throughout the day and for all ages the same on the beach. There is a bar/restaurant on the beach. The fresh fish they served at lunch was superb. There was plenty of sunbeds to go round. The location was paradise personified.
Food. The food in Cuba isn't the best this brings to mind the 3rd world nature of the country. What food they import has to divert through 3 countries before it gets to them. What I will say is this the flavour of the loacally grown food invoked memories of what food tasted like in this country (England) before all fruit became the same size covered in insectiside, eggs that are farmed from 1000's of hens in small barns and all the rest factory farmed animals we eat.
The hotel entertainment was ok not my cup of tea but hey we cant have it all. The staff were great in all areas, maybe with the exception of the reception...A smile or two wouldn't go a miss !

Guardalavaca review
"Two weeks for family of four"
resort to a friend
Guardalavaca is only basically a little village where all there is are the tourist hotels and a few houses where the staff that work in the hotels live! The beaches are stunning with very calm and safe to snorkel and swim in sea.
