varadero is realy nice lovily beaches, lots to see and do.the locals are very friendly and the resort is becoming more popular with tourists.

Quiet resort, not much to do other than sunbathe, there were some water sports. Perfect if you just want to relax. Not much children around.

It was ok but as we enjoy walking and looking around it was somewhat lacking. The market was ok but again very small with very little to do after the first 40 mins. Clean and friendly but quiet.

Very quiet resort nothing there only 4 hotels no locals live there. The island is only around 5 miles square so very small.Idyllic beaches and crystal clear warm sea.

Beautifull beaches

Just behind the beaches are mountains of trash and in the crystal clear water the coral is seriously under threat of being trashed

It is very touristy in Varadaro but everythign is in really close proximity so you can get on a bus and get everywhere. I would recommend to go out to one of the cities like Havana to get a real taste of Cuban life.

Only visited the resort a couple of times, it was quite nice, really liked the market. Remember to haggle!

The beach is beautiful here, but thers not that much to do.

The sea! OMG! It's stunning! We had great weather whilst there and the sea was beautifully crystal clear and deliciously warm! The locals make you feel really welcome there too. Make sure to go swimming with dolphins and indulge a catamaran ride wit fresh lobster and pina coladas!

beautiful sandy beaches... weather was gorgeous so hot and relaxing! the only problem we had was because we went with virgin airways they didn't fly directly into Holquin so we had to get an internal transfer which you had to book (in very small print it is a aeroplane transfer). Virgin are considering flying direct at some stage if they do it would be much better!

If you're looking for a resort with things to see, places to visit and shopping to be done, then Varadero is not for you (though you can get trips to Havana easily enough). If, on the other hand, you're looking for the most relaxing holiday you could ever wish for, then dive in!

While there is a small "town centre", there's pretty much nothing you would want to buy. Nightlife is minimal, but considering that this resort is littered with all-inclusives this is hardly surprising. Quite literally, Varadero is a giant beach....and what a beach! The sand is pure and the water is clean and crystal clear...simply amazing.

all attractions are hotel based,cayo coco is unspoilt and stunning,wish i was back there.the beaches are white sand and go on for miles.

If you want to spend more than half an hour at this resort you will do well!!! We hated it. Your shopping can be done in less than half an hour. If you go down onto the beach, be careful its not a pleasant experience, there are working girls (you know what i'm saying) who dont care if your married or not, its very loud and dirty, not like the beach where we were staying. Hated it. We also changed some money here at the Club Amigo Hotel, God knows who stays there but is was filthy, smelly and so unhygeinic and thats being kind about the hotel. If you see that hotel cheap anywhere, avoid it like the plague............

The resort is just on an island that has had the forest cleared to put hotels on it. Vey relaxing if you want to do nothing but eat drink and sunbathe. But you should visit Havanah because as the locals say 'you haven't been to Cuba if you've only been to Cayo Coco!'. Although the resort itself is quiet, there are plenty of trips to get you round.

only went into town once found it to be clean good beach but not much more except very small market and a couple of bars. ok for day out

We chose this resort as there was suposed to be a lot to do here but, I suspect due mainly to the number of "all inclusive" resorts, although there are shops and a few bars open during the day there is not much going on after 10pm.
