"Guardalavaca Village review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Returned 8/02/06. 6people in party.
Have just returned from a two week holiday with friends from Guardalavaca.
On our first visit to Cuba after reading some of the reports we were not really sure what to expect, however we were pleasantly surprised, the hotel was part of the Amigos group and the main name was the Atlantico which incorperated the bungalows and the village.Entertainment was plentifull and well documented on the boards situated all over the complex.
There were 3 main buffet style restraunts with several snack bars(one of which was 24hr)and 3 al la carte restraunts, to be hones the buffets were as good as the the al la cartes. The locals were always around on the beach front and other than asking you if you wanted to buy some cigars they did not pester you to much.
Later on in the evenings the locals would put on a free show at the beach in one of their many bars.
The Cuban people were extreemly friendly and were very much appriciative of any gift that you would give them, we were told before we left to take them lipstick and underware.
While at Guardalavaca we went on various excursions which we believed to be on the expensive side, it did not matter wether you booked them with your rep or you booked them locally the prices were exactly the same.We would return to Cuba, however not necessarily to this resort.
