If I wrote down all the things we loved about this holiday I'd be here forever!

Just go to Cuba and stay at the Paradisus Rio De Oro - the name says it all, it literally is pure paradise.

The beaches, food, surroundings, the Cuban people (especially) are all amazing.

Sitting in the Jacuzzi on our first day, we were greeted by one of the waiters with a bottle of champagne and four glasses!

Four of us in total went on this holiday and it's a holiday none of us will ever forget. Cuba is a beautiful place and the hotel well lived up to its 5 star reputation.

You must go! You are sure to have the best holiday ever. We are definately going back agin in the future.

One last thing to add - make sure you tip the Cuban staff! They are all worth their weight in gold. They are so kind and helpful. The Cuban people go out of their way to make your holiday a special and memorable one... one that we certainly will never ever forget.

Hotel was absolute paradise! Lovely clean beach. Swimming pools really nice, the only down side was you had to get up early to get the sunbeds. I think people must have been there at 6am putting there towels on the beds.

Restaurants were excellent, especially enjoyed the Japanese, although the food was very good at all restaurants. Had to book the A la Carte restaurants so suggest you do this next day you arrive. All Staff were very friendly, we especially liked Michel who is part of the entertainments and pool team.We tipped the staff but I think the maids and bar staff get enough. You have to think about the staff at the entrance to Hotel and the gardeners etc as they are all friendly and say Ola! They deserve a tip as well.

We done the trip where you visit a local school, we had taken pens, pencils jotters etc where they are very much appreciated.

Everybody should do the swim with Dolphins, wonderful! There is a small market at Guardalavaca where you can buy crafts that the locals have made etc.

We actually stayed 3days at the start of our holiday in Santiago De Cuba which we feel everybody should do as it lets you see the other side of Cuba. We actually hired a taxi and guide for a day which was excellent as he took us round everywhere we would have wanted to see. Then we had 11nights in Paradisus.

If anybody is thinking of Cuba this is definitely one of the best Hotels.

this hotel lived up to its name, it was paradise. the staff are very friendly. there are 4 la carte restaurants to choose from but book them early as they fill up quickly. for all the men going to this hotel make sure you have a smart pair of trousers to wear for the restaurants as there is a dress code. the beach was excellent, the entertainment was good. swimming with the dolphins was superb and just around the corner. the sky diving was an experiance never to be forgotten.its worth going to havanna but it's a long day. we really enjoyed cuba and will be going back.

Our first trip to the Cuba , in what can only be described as Paradise. The food was excellent the quantity and choice was first class. There was always room in any of the five resturants to eat, the people were very curtious and friendly, the night time entertainment was excellent.

We would however recommend that if anyone is planning on visiting Havana, that they do it at the beginning or at the end of the holiday , we done it in the middle of our holiday, which took two days out of our paradise.

Take plenty of pain killers for the locales and also t shirts.

Just returned from Paradise this hotel wasn't the cheapest for a week's holiday,But certainly lives up to its 5 star rating.set on a lovely beach, with a superb beach restaurant, The staff are so attentive,in the grounds set in trees there a jacuzzis with ice buckets filled with champagne, replaced for every new couple. there are 4 al a carte restaurants, along with a super buffet one, where you could have fresh sirloins, chicken, calamari, pork stks, salmon all cooked in front of you.then you may try lobster, crab, prawns, snapper, mussels,or even veal, pork beef joints from the carvery. all inclusive is just fantastic here, at the bar there are branded drinks too many to mention.
the rooms are so spacious and split level you even have a cd player.

while there we took a flight to Havana for the day, really worth doing.also we swam with dolphins, which is only 5 mins from hotel.they are so well cared for.Which other people mentioned too.on the beach you can take a microlight with a boat fixed to the bottom.this is a must $45 (£24) 15 mins ,but you always got longer. we are returning next year, worth the 10 hr flight out via Cayo Coco. but then its only 8 hrs from Holgiun on return.

hope this helps someone decide to go to paradise

Where do you start. Flight good and on time (well done Monarch) Holguin airport is small and passport control was a little unnerving. But on arrival at hotel....WOW! Very quick check in by very friendly staff, then whisked off to your room by buggy.
Our room was big, spilt level and very clean. We had a superior junior suite which has a private patio. Air conditioning had 3 levels which gives greater control. Be careful the water can get very hot in the shower. The outdoor shower was great!

The whole hotel has been landscaped into its surrounding, so from the sea it can hardly be seen. I'm sure that when the new spa is completed this will onoly to to the overall appeal of what is an excellent hotel.

The staff were all very friendly, and nothing was to much trouble for them, no matter what the request.

The pool is very well kept and there are plenty of sunbeds. Being an early riser I would go to the pool at about 6.00 and would be amazed at the amount of towels on sunbeds. They must be put there overnight and the hotel should do something about this. A large number of beds are left unattended, but ";claimed"; for hours. Not what I would have expected of a 5 star hotel. But, this is a relatively minor, if but annoying aspect of the complex.

The pool bar is well stocked - beware of George he mixes a mean cocktail. The gardens are very well maintained and pretty.

For lunch the Santa Maria bar on the beach is a good spot - well cooked food and fresh. Generally all the restaurants, including the buffet had a good variety of well cooked and presented food, a fact remarked on by many of the guests. In the Japenese restaurant is given the thumbs up by all its clientele.

A great hotel, in a great location, with a staff that will always do their utmost to ensure that you enjoy EVERY aspect of your holiday, you only had to ask.

We will definitely endeavour to return for more of the same !

Had one of the best holiday's ever.
Hotel was fabulous.

Our first bedroom was a disapointment,it was at the edge of the forest and the view was of tree stumps and also very dark, but after a phone call we were soon moved to a better location.
Food was very good in the buffet and excellent in the Restaurants, you have to book the restaurants early.
Never seen a pool and swim up bar as popular as this one,and everybody of all ages joined in the fun.
There was volleyball, aqua-aerobic's, snorkelling. You didn't have to get up early to place towels on the beds.

We went to Gaurdalavakia on the Sunday morning,to see the very small market and then walked down to the lovely beach behind the market, there was hundred's of people there all dancing and singing.
The beaches are lovely, and if you go past the hotel, beyond the spa you will find a couple of very quiet beaches,it's about a 10 minute walk.
The bar's at night were a meeting place, where everyone talked about their day,and what they done and where they had been.
You could get virtually any drink you wanted, and the entertainment was good.
Nearly everyday there was a wedding, usually at about 4pm when it is a bit cooler for the Brides, they are brought to the Gazebo in a horse drawn carriage and then afterwards driven around the Hotel with their groom.
Apparently the weddings there are free!!!!!( check first please)

If you want a totally relaxing holiday, choose here.
Would i recommend it???Definatly.
