it can be what you want it to be, Go into town for shops. Use the open top tour bus to see all the hotels into and out of Varadero. stay by the beach for a lazy fantastic time This resort suits all families - young and old.

Resort is good and safe. Souvenirs are reasonably priced and get a ride in 3 wheel tuktuk

Open top bus is fun, carry your passport if you need to use the internet cafe.

Favourite place in Cuba theres plenty of places to visit from Alcapones house to the Beatles bar. Husband even enjoyed a round of golf.

The resort itself very quiet nothing to do very disappointing.Unless you go on any trips with first choice which was few and far between.And there not cheap

We visited Varadero several times during the day very safe. Didnt go out at night. Beaches are excellent and safe. Enjoyed very much

Not a great deal of things to do,only a few bars, and snack places to eat, more flea markets to purchase wooden goods,pictures of classic cars, or Havana buildings and leather,crocheted garments. But interesting to see how the cubans live.

Good lively town, with a must see, bar 62, offering affordable drinks ..fantastic live Cuban Bands, and salsa in the street, and the advantage of being able take an old classic American car turned taxi home at a reasonable price. Never once did i feel unsafe or ripped off,with locals as friendly as in the hotel.

Varadero is a very narrow peninsula and the resort area is developed for tourism and therefore very picturesque. There is a city bus tour which picks up at all hotels and stops regularly in Main Street near to the many flea markets. These tend to be much the same with very little variety but are great to wander around. The stallholders are keen to have you look at their goods but are very friendly and not pushy at all. The city bus tour is very cheap and you can get on and off as many times as you want between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 9.0 p.m. The old american cars are in abundance and offer city tours, which again are very reasonably priced, for an hour's trip. They will pick up at the hotel and drop back at the hotel. Go to the viewing area in Dupont House and you will be able to see just how narrow this peninsula is.

Most importantly, the resort seems very safe, whether in a group or on your own, you felt you could go anywhere. Again this resort is suitable for all age groups.

Was a bit dissapointed with the markets in varadero. Tended to sell the same things over and over again. Didn't sample any of the restaurants, bars or nightlife as we were all inclusive and didn't need to.

We always caught the open top bus, you can hop on and off all day, Varadero town was great, there are a few flee markets there and you are not pressured into buying

Great taste of Cuba fantastic beaches, a little night life with salsa n bands n restaurants serving similar food.

Not a lot to do in the area unless you want to go on organised trips via the reps which we found expensive and a long distance away. we ventured into varadero by taxi to go to the flea market and look around the area. We found people really friendly and felt secure whilst out. The local taxis drivers are a great source of information and happily engage in friendly chat.

There is plenty to see and do in Varadero shopping, sunbathing, bars, restaurants, boat trips and places of interest. There are buses or taxis available to get you about. We hired a cadillac with a driver for an hour which cost 30 pesos.A trip into Havana is a must. We went on the overnight trip which was very good value for money.

Smashing although didnt go to the town much, people in Cuba are lovely and prices really low. The beach beautiful and the varadero strip great. The poverty makes you realsie how lucky we are, 15 CUC per month salary £9 ish so the 1CUC tips make a huge difference to the staff, so dont forget to tip, unless you get bad service

Went on an excursion to Cayo Blanco via Catamaran which was really good. Went on the open top bus tour around Varadero and went into Varadero for a walk and look around. Not much n the main town to do and see. Lovely old cars to see though.
