very good for shopping location lovely lively and exciting, people very friendly and accomadating. restaurants and bars galore,recommend it.

Playa Dorada is a good beach resort but without busy shopping areas and hawkers. Good to be at a place where you do not need to leave the hotel to get your entertainment

This resort is very quiet but it is very secure. There is a small shopping plaza with a few bars,grills and shops, (Phils bar is great for football and cider!). Beaches are very clean but locals selling gifts can get a little annoying! There are lots of excursions available but by far the best is the off road buggies (but make sure its with Dominitours as other companies dont go as 'off road' as these crazy guys go!). The casino is also good for a few hours.

In all fairness Puerto Plata is not somewhere that I would wander about on my own, but there are plenty of trips that offer something for everyone.

We went to Oceanworld which was a realy great day. We went for my birthday and I had a Dolphin Encounter which was great and considerably cheaper than what you would pay in America. The park is great as well, it has dolphin, sea lion, bird and shark shows. It has 2 tigers and you can go snorkelling and swimming. So if you just want to relax you can do that to, well worth a visit.

We also did the Outback Safari. This was a great day. Our guide was Kenny and our driver was Scooby and they really made the day. For drive in an open top safari vehicle and they take for into the real Dominican Republic. We got to try some sugar cane, we went into a school and went in a typical dominican house. After a great lunch they then take you to a secluded beach where you can either relax or go boogey boarding and they then take you to a river where you can go swimming. All the time you are on the truck you are drinking beer, rum, soft drinks or water. We had a great day and will definately do the trip again as they also support the local children and schools.

There is plenty of other stuff to do and see so definately make sure you visit soon.

El Morro was probably one of my favorite parts of the trip. You can see the whole city from up there. The history of the place was really cool too. When I was there I could just imagine all of the scenes that have taken place there over the years. I felt like I was in the pirates of the caribbean or something. The place is really a must see.There is a free tram that runs right from the grounds to various locations. We took it to Old San Juan for shopping and lunch.

Our rep 'Guy' was really good he was very entertaining and had an excellent knowledge of the resort, his intro talk was very funny!!

A quiet resort with very little to see .Holidays are hotel based. The resort has some eating places and a small marina where dive boats set off from. There is some building work in the areas and there will be some expansion later.

Bavaro is a great resort, the beach is lovely!!!! Wish we were back there now :-( Didn't leave the hotel that much, but there arew a few good shops around. Just a nice place to chill out really!

Boca Chica is a friendly small town about 15 minutes from Las Americas Airport, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. My husband and I have been here twice and both times we had a wonderful time. The beach is beautiful, the food is great, and the Las Palermas Residence (across from Boca Marina) was picturesque, quiet, and in a beautiful setting. Restaurants: We ate at Da Nancy's on the beach twice and both times we were served complimentary appetizers and after dinner drinks. The food was wonderful and the wait staff friendly. We also ate breakfast at the Boat House on the beach and what a setting. The beach and ocean are clean and only steps from your table. Meal was generous and again we had a wonderful breakfast. We ate at both the Neptuno Restaurant and Boca Marina. These restaurants sit out over the ocean and have wonderful wait staff, excellent food, and a view like no other we've experienced - not even Hawaii. One of our favorite places is the Sporting Club. We ate lunch here everyday and supper once. The chairs, umbrellas, and tables were free if you purchased drinks or food. Try the bruschetta, it's the best anywhere, as is everything else we had to eat here. You can use their bathrooms too, which were kept impeccably clean.

We have just returned from a great 2 weeks at this hotel, nothing at all to complain about this resort, great food, nice clean rooms (despite some other reviews) the entertainment team are first class, we ate in the a la carte restaurants 8 times in 2 weeks, it is isolated so wont suit those who want to wander out of the hotel but for those of you looking to chill out and be waited on this is the place for you and it certainly wasnt an expensive holiday either compared to other hotels we looked at. The pool is huge and the hotel is situated right on the beach so you can go for walks along the beach or swim in the sea within minutes of leaving your room.

This complex was a bit away from any Town so it was a taxi ride to anywhere. But the hotel entertainment made up for the lack of going out. All three hotels can be used so theres 3 different shows each night

We didn't leave the hotel but from what we saw on the transfer in there didn't look a lot to see or do.

not masses to do where we stayed. there was a shopping mall but prices where rediculous. there are plenty of beach sports to do if you wanted to, the beaches are beautiful there are miles and miles of white sand.

Bahia Maimon is a small village to the west of the resort. Take a walk the locals are friendly, and the kids love a lolly.

Only drove through but would not visit.LOOKS VERY POOR.We only went for a relaxing week all inclusive in the hotel.
