you don't really need to go out of the hotel complex as there is so much there. The drive from the airport certainly opens your eyes as it appears to be quite a 'poor place'.

Lovely resort,spotlessly clean safe for young kids,beautiful beach and gorgeous weather.Entertainment needed improving although staff tried very hard, also more tables needed for watching shows as some nights there was,nt enough to go round.

If you go to Playa Dorada there are good excursions but ths is not somewhere you just go out and about and find places to eat and drink by just walking out of you hotel entrance. Beaches in the area are fair not good. All in all we had a good holiday and good fun but I would not return to this part of the Dom Rep. If you are going you really will have fun but do not pay over the odds shop around because you should pay an average price for an average holiday.

ok plenty organized trips . fav was ocean world, you can book trips at the plaza for half the price of your res, hemingways good for a meal out, as is the grill at the golf club.

Playa Dorada is a nice complex, the only thing we didnt like was constantly being approached on the beach by the locals trying to sell you everything and anything! However they do leave you alone once they know you are not interested.

has anyone ever been to this place in may? only im due to go on tuesday and the weather reports are not lookng good! im now worried im going to face wo weeks of rain?

We travelled out of the hotel just once: took a boat to the coral reef and Gri-Gri lagoon, which is amazing spot near San Juan, but probably the only spot worth special visit to this specific resort. Otherwise beaches and palms - amazing, but as anywhere else in Dominican republic. The town itself Is well worth one visit, but no more than that. So next time if we go there we will aim to be closer to Puerta Plata or will try another coast.

There is not much around the hotel. In fact there is no need to leave the resort at all only to go on the beach and excursions.

The resort is great and the beach is absolutly beautiful! I went on 3 day trips, including Ocean World and the mega trucks. I would highly reccommend these trips as they are fantastic and very enjoyable :) The bars are great especially coco bongo which is suitable for all ages.

This is the most beautiful resort I have ever stayed in. The beaches are fabulous and there is so much to do in the area. The food is amazing and the locals very friendly and helpful and go out of their way for you. The reosrt was also very clean and beautiful. I cant recommend a nicer idyllic place to visit.

i havent made it due to hotel closure and change of flights. I can't tell you what I don't know. I simply want to warn travellers to get in touch with their tour operator to avoid disappointment like me.

The hotel was slightly out on a limb, the nearest small village was about a 25 minute walk away. Anything else required a coach trip. We went on a safari which was brilliant, a real insight into local life. Also went swimming with sharks. Lack of things to do in local area no big problem due to size of hotel

This was a great resort. It's a brand new resort which just opened up in October 2008. The hotel only has about 660 rooms, but that is big enough. Any bigger and you could be very far from the beach. The service was wonderful. They have 4 sit down a la carte restaurants, but only two of them need a reservation which was great. I would certainly go there again and recommend it to all my friends and family.I would definitely go back if I had the chance.

Punta Cana and the dominican as a whole is an excellent place to while away a week or two. Very relaxed with water-sports and good diving.

Hello there…I visited the hotel few months ago.i was there in a vacation.it was amazing out there.specially about their services.wow….there services were great,I like their hospitality.i mostly like their foods…mmmm.it still lick my tounge when think about some of their foods…its really amazing out there..i wish them best of luck….
