"The Citadelle"
Overall Resort Rating:
went to the Citadel on a mission trip with Good Shepherd Ministries Dec 2008. It is a long walk from the parking lot so give yourself time and bring water. We used a guide named Napoleon Duplin which the locals know as a well known guide. He is wonderful, speaks good English, and knows his history. It is best to hire a guide to avoid the locals you will pass along the way from pestering you to hire them. Tickets to see the Citadel I think are $10US now and Napoleon will need a horse about $5 and he requests a small fee for his guidance I think around $10-$20. It just unimaginable to think of what resources they had to build the Citadel and how large it really is.
