Excellent holiday. The hotel is clean and friendly. Expect to tip all staff ( take about $80 US in one dollar denominations, just for tipping as no one will change a 5 dollar note, only in the hotel.

The waterpark was brilliant and we never saw the kids once we plonked ourselves down. The lazy river is so relaxing. We got married whilst we were out there,(fantastic). Food was excellent, a bit repetetive but good. Three palms restaurant was fabulous, ask for a table outside. We saw a shooting star whilst dinning here on our wedding night, very special.

Do NOT go into Montego Bay. It is very frightening. Gangs of men surround you and ask if they can show you around. They expect to be tipped $80 for this and get quite nasty if you don't comply. Montego Bay itself is disgusting. You can see into the broken sewers as you walk on the pavement, great big holes, you could easily fall into the sewers if you dont take care.

We got a local taxi driver to take us river rafting and to Dunns river falls. It worked out cheaper than the tour opperator.Agree a fixed price first.I would definately go back to this hotel as it had everything you need for a good familly holiday. The only problem being that unless you have a planned trip you are very unsafe leaving the complex. Not that you ever need to leave! Crime rates are incredible high in Jamaica, but not directed at tourists. A lot of it is to do with drg smuggling. You wont see any of it if you stay in the complex. Despite this information I would rate the hotel and holiday as 9/10. Mainly due the fun of the waterpark.

We've just returned from staying at this hotel and we had a great time we didnt to to leave. The hotel rooms were a little dated but very clean. The hotel is currently under refurbishment and is due to be finished in december. Staff were really nice and friendly. We got married while we were there and it was fab. Had no organising to do it was all done for us. We had a nice decorated gazebo on the beach.

The food was nice there was themed nights every nite. The al la carte restaurants are well worth a visit especially the three palms we were treat like royalty. We enjoyed fun days in the waterpark especially the lazy river. Its suitable for all ages. I would definitly go back itl be even better with the decor updated. We visited dolphin cove where we went swimming with the dolphins its a little expensive but its worth the money. Went to dunns river waterfalls you can climb up the falls but its a little scary I didnt make it to top but you can get off when ever you like.

A brill holiday overall.

We decided to get married in Jamaica, just the 2 of us, after getting engaged there the year before (think it was the great sunsets that convinced us)!! We arrived at the hotel to find that it was under renovation, half of the hotel accommodation was closed. This was an actual bonus for us as one of the restaurants was closed, so they allowed us to dine at the fine dining restaurants whenever we wanted, well worth. You can upgrade your meals to your choice and pay a little extra and they were fantastic. We also paid for the lobster fest that was available at a supplement and this was very romantic as it was served on the beach with the ocean right beside you.We found the meals great with lots of variety for you to choose from. The only down side for us was that one of the gazebos that i wanted to get married in was closed because of the renovations, so i had to use the other one, this turned out to be better as the minister said why didn't we stand outside and have the great views of the palm trees and sea behind us. The photos came out wonderful, and i would like to THANK ALL the staff, photographer and wedding planner who made the wedding wonderful..........i never thought getting married could be so simple, stress free, romantic and peaceful, i certainly wouldn't want to have done it any other way. We went on the horse riding trip (the horses do actually swim) and this was a great day out, well worth it.

The wider seats on the first choice airline was great. Jamaican people are so friendly! Hotel was impressive although in the throws of renovation. The staff were all superb and very polite.

Went to Dunns Falls, Bob Marley Experience, Rafting and river safari etc. The Jamaican roads leave a bit to be desired but are being worked on as we speak.

Our all inclusive deal was great, came back half a stone heavier!

Going to town can be harrowing but try to ignore the street traders and get a good taxi driver who will show you everything you need to see.

Won't hesitate to re visit especially when this hotel has it's renovation completed.

Rose Hall is definately somewhere I'd go again. We travelled in Sept 2006 a party of 20 for a wedding. Flight was good, getting through immigration in Jamaica was a bit stressful. Hotel is lovely rooms are clean and tidy which is all you need cos how much time do you spend in your room! Food is great with plenty of variety and choice. I have a very fussy 5yr old and she loved the food.

Water Park and beach are fab. I recommend the kids klub and this service is free (although our brochure stated a local charge). The staff are a mixed bunch some go out of their way for you others can be quite rude.

Entertainment is ok but finishes quite early on. I think that was the only downside to the hols.

Wedding was lovely although I recommend if your getting married to keep a copy of what you have asked for and check the day before that they have everything as the bride in our party was told on the wedding morning that they did not have the flowers she had requested and that the wedding co ordinator she had dealt with all along was off on that day!

The boys loved the golf course.

Went to the dolphin cove and on the canopy experience and saved a lot of money by actually booking these direct using the telephone numbers on the leaflets and booking a taxi transfer.

All in all a fab relaxing holiday that was enjoyed by all ages. i would definately recommend.

The Rose Hall resort in Montego Bay is actually no where near Montego Bay - you need to go on the excursions or get a taxi if you want to go there. Having said that the Rose Hall is so nice we were quite happy to spend our days there apart from a couple of excursions. The water park was great fun and the swim up bar was an added bonus. The main pool was very nice with plenty of shade if you needed it. There were snack bars at both pools for lunch/drinks. This was mainly burgers and chips but that kept the kids happy. The breakfast and evening meal buffet had plenty of choice and the two speciality restaurants were very nice. The hotel is having some repairs at the moment but this was not a problem to us - we didn't hear them very much. It might have been worse if your hotel room was closer to the repairs.

The rooms were a bit dated but clean and well furnished. We wern't in the rooms that much anyway. There was entertainment every evening with a resident band and some sort of act.The Dunns River Falls is a must do excursion but the shopping trip was terrible. We were taken to a shop in the middle of nowhere which they called a duty free shop. All it sold was tat. Then on to the craft market which was quite a scary experience. They literally drag you into their stalls, give the kids free gifts (pencils)so you feel obliged to buy from them. They almost hang on to you and when you try to leave they get right in your face and keep trying to sell.Horrible! Then we were taken on to a bar in Montego Bay.As we didn't want a bar, we wanted to buy presents we decided to go further into the town to shop and then walk back to catch the coach. The rep didn't seem to like that very much but we still went and found some very nice shops.

To sum up the holiday was great but the shopping experience was not good.

Formerly known as the Wyndham Rose Hall Resort and Country Club.

Accommodation:
Rooms were a little dated, not huge and not small, but could do with a new air conditioning system. Kept clean though.

Food:
Have been to other all inclusive hotels, and would say that the choice of food is limited in most of the restaurants with quite a few fish dishes, but if you are not to fussy you'll find something to have.

Would highly recommend the Three Palms speciality restaurant, nice setting within the Golf Course and great food.

Pool Area:
Two pools one known as the East pool and the other the West. The West pool is classed as the water park with a couple of slides and a lazy river. Again the pools and the surounding area's are kept very clean. Plenty of sun loungers, but can get very hot around the pool as no breeze like on the beach.

Beaches:
Water was nice and warm, and the beaches we cleaned and raked every night. Plenty of sun loungers, and you have a nice breeze to kill the heat a bit.

Bars:
Only visited two of the bars on the complex, the one above the East Pool and the Cricketers. Staff always very freindly, Red Stripe is the local beer with a full fat and light option. Will have to pay a small supplement for premium brand beers and liquors.

Staff:
Hotel staff very friendly, quickly checked in, and received a lot of help from the hotel conceirge in trying to find our lost bag.

Rep:
If you are travelling with Thomas Cook we found our rep Fiona to be no help at all. Took us three days to get our missing bag.

All in all we have been to other caribbean islands, but would not return to Jamaica.

We visited the Wyndham Rose Hall Resort in May of this year and it was fantasic! We was a little concerned about going, after reading some of the comments, but there really is something for everyone. We would say there is no pleasing the people, who beg to differ.

Admittedly, some of the staff (mainly women) could be a little rude, but if you are going to let that ruin your holiday, then more fool you. But most of the staff were a delight to talk too.

Weather was great, beach and pools were always clean and the lazy river was great fun too!

A wide range of foods and drinks and plently of different things to do, if you choose.

The only thing that we would have changed about our holiday, was who we travelled with. My Travel were appalling and we would never travel with them again, to any where in the world.

We would advise you to take US Dollars, as everything is priced this way.

Please dont think twice about booking in for this place and i do hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I have been to this hotel twice on each visit I was extremely pleased. i had read a few reviews on the hotel and was a bit worried at first. on the first visit i attended a wedding of a family member, this prompted me to book my own wedding at the hotel. please dont hesitate to plan yopur wedding at this hotel. it was the best day of my life the staff treated me like royalty, nothing was too much trouble . the hotel catered for all ages.the food was out of this world and plenty of it. for those who could find fault with anything at this hotel must have gone around with eyes closed!!

we went to dunns river falls, horse back riding in the sea, scuba diving, swimming with the dolphins was the best.everything was done very professionally through the main booking desk at the hotel. we didnt see the rep but found the staff at the hotel more than helpful. we were given an upgrade of the room, overlooking the golf course the rooms were very clean and we had a lovely ceaner. in all a fantastic holiday going back next year cant wait.

Air Jamiaca flight to and from Jamaica, plenty of leg room although no entertainment on the outward trip. We arrived on New Years Eve and there was a grand event taking place - we were too tired for this but brought the New Year in ";no problem";. Getting through customs was easy because of the time we got there but I am sure it can be a bit hectic and slow in high season. Booking in was fine and the Rose Hall Resort was a good hotel complex, plenty of room to walk around. Beach area was nice and the sea, sports etc good (golf course available if you like to play). Plenty of sun beds available during the day.

The rooms were a bit dated but have been told it has just been taken over by new owners who are coming in very soon to revamp everything. The food was good and the two speciality restaurants were worth visiting - the Three Palms is the better of the two. Pool side grill bars available for lunch snacks. The staff were all very friendly, although all inclusive it is wise to tip as this is the custom. Only went on two trips, Dunns Fall which was very good (make sure you are quite fit!) and horse back riding along the beach. Was told Dolphin Cove was expensive.

This was my first time to Jamaica and I was very impressed and would certainly go again.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit worried about what we were going too. But I needn't have worried, the hotel was excellent, the rooms were a bit dated but very clean. The food in all the resturants were very good. The lazy river was excellent. The only downside was Montego Bay Airport, a long wait for luggage, which was not put on our coach but put into a very tatty lorry, we weren't too sure if we were going to see them again, but luckily they were waiting at the hotel for us. Take US dollars as everything is priced in US dollars. Can recommended Dunn's River Falls, swimming with the dolphins and the Quad-Bike trip. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back again. Just one note the hotel is no longer part of the Wyndham hotel group, and we understand that the new owners are going to be upgrading the rooms and the hotel in general.

DESTINATION -

I have never been to Jamaica before and I thought it was fantasic. What a beautiful island. It was everthing that I imagined, white sand, clear waters and sunny sky.
It was very Hot and Dry concidering we went in rainy season, which of course I was pleased about.

TRIPS -

Dunns River Falls - I was quite worried about this trip when I saw how high Dunns waterfall was, however once you have climbed this, you get a great sense of acheivement. This is a trip not be missed.

YS Falls/Black River - This is another great trip. It is a long journey on the bus to get here though. During this trip we visited YS falls, which where beautiful, you can swim and also they have a rope swing ( which looked very fun ). You also visit Black River during the trip, which is a boat ride down a river with crocs swimmming beneath you. The captin of the boat stops to feed the crocs, which is very scary, as you can get very very close to the crocs, however they where harmless and it was a fun trip overall.

HOTEL -

We was actually booked in to stay at the Starfish hotel, however there rooms had some how been over booked, so they moved us to Wyndam. I was worried about this, as I knew nothing about this hotel, however I didnt need to worry, as this hotel is amazing!
Our room was overlooking the golf course/sea view which was lovely. We had 2 double beds in the room, they were clean and tidy with clean towels everyday etc.
The staff in the hotel where great, always friendy, I almost felt out of place, as they treat you like royalty.
I felt the only problem with the hotel was if you stay for 2 weeks, the same food is repeated, and some nights they had nothing I liked, as I am a really picky eater ( my own fault I know ), however I craved to have something plain to eat as a main meal.

Also, the entertainment isnt up to much if there are just the two of you, most nights we found ourselves going back to our rooms at about 11pm to watch a film instead of been out, if you are in a group then you could prob make your own entertainment, all you need is free alcohol and a bit of music and your away!

To sum it up, this was our first all inc trip, our first trip to the carribean and all in all, I recomend this to anyone if you like a mostly relaxing holiday with the odd trip. However I wouldnt recomend it to people who like to go out for walks out of there resorts and who likes a bit of english in there holidays, as you will not get this with Jamaica. It is a truly once in a lifetime holiday and most definately worth a visit!

Despite a nightmare journey home with first choice airlines, going out was fine and the extra money for the upgrade well worth it, a smaller plabne home resulted in the in coming flight having to re fuel in Canada and hence being delayed. No upgrade available on the way home again via Canada, 13 hrs with your bad knees jammed into the seat in frount is no joke I was in agony by the time I made Manchester.

Stayed for 2 weeks 5th April - 19th April
It was a wonderful place to stay found it difficult to find fault despite the 4 days of non stop rain in the second week.

Joined Wyndham by request before we went, got the quick check in promised and a sea view room that was great even found that 1 of the TV channels was fox soccer channel that showed live premiership games and the late sky sports news at 6pm Jamaica time so could keep up with the footie scores and see the goals.

Wyndham by request gave us a late check out 2pm instead of 11am the drinks and snacks promised on arrival by wyndham by request never arrived but as they say in those parts ";no problem";

No problem was often said by the super staff who really did try to make your stay the best it could be.

I am a fussy eater with an aversion to spicey food, but the buffet style in the terrace let you try litte bits of the many choices on offer. Strangley after giving some of the spicy foods a try I oddly found them to my likeing.

As one who normally wont eat rice I found rice and peas one of my favourites.

Breakfast gave a vast array of choices and the ommelette station was brill as an Englishman did not know you could have eggs so many ways.

The 2 restaraunts you have to pre book were really top knotch the Luna Marr staff made our silver wedding one to really remember the Three palms was wonderful.

The pool and beach areas were well laid out with many empty sunbeds at all times of the day although some people raced for their spot every day! why?? One good touch around the beach and pool was the iced water and lemonade barrels placed around the site save on having to take bottled water down with you. The tap water was no problem and tasted better than in the UK.
I am missing floating round the lazy river (one of the best parts of the stay ) already.

A truley memorable stay get out and about the island if you can it is not only the hotel staff who make your stay great but all the people of the wonderful Island of Jamaica.

We stayed at Wyndham between 3rd and 19th November. We booked with Virgin and travelled with Air Jamaica. The flight was very good there was plenty of leg room and as the flight was not full you could gat four seats to yourself, there was also complimentary drinks all the way (beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks).

The hotel was very nice the only thing that lets it down is that the bedrooms are a bit dated. Check in was a slow process, if your were not at the front you had a long wait. If your going to wyndham it is worth joining there by request service which you can do on there web site.

On your arrival you get your own check in desk you get whatever food and drink you have requested in your room you also get free late check out at 2pm instead of the standard 11am, and its all free. During the day you can eat in the buffet resturant the cafe or either of the two pool grills so there is plenty of choice.

At night you can eat in the cafe the buffet resturant or one of the two posh resturants which you need reservations for. You are told you can only eat in these once but is is not true, what happens is you are told to make your reservation a couple of days before you want to go for your first visits but after that if you want to go again which we did several times you can go to the desk on the day you want to go and see if they have any tables left, which they always did you can reserve one. The swimming pools are fantastic there is a normal pool with swim up bar and grill and the water park also with swim up bar and grill. There are always plenty of sun beds and ringos for floating around the lazy river with your cocktail.

All in all its o great hotel with plenty too do and good food.
