The trips on offer were expensive, $75 each to Dunn’s River falls which involved 8 hours on a bus and a 2 hour unwanted shopping trip with local traders. $80 each to visit Bob Marley’s village, $310 each to swim with dolphins. We did go out and about but used local taxi’s which were much cheaper but most of the time was spent on the village or wandering along 7 mile beach but to do so means walking through the nudist beach of Hotel Hedonism 2, Sandals, Beaches, Couples and others before reaching the empty stretch of sands occupied by locals waiting to pounce on the all inclusive tourists who have wandered from the security of their hotels.

Despite the negatives we had a great time but it was through the people and laughs we had rather than the delights of Point Village. We would return to Jamaica but not to Point Village or Negril because neither of which have much to offer.

Food, staff and entertainment leave a lot to be desired. Breakfast often consisted of Liver and dumplings or Corn beef hash, but there was other choices, such as shrivelled up bacon, garlic sausages, omelettes, cereal and fruit. Most of the female staff we...

this was my experience in negril jamaica the beach is populated by the locals who peddle drugs any type you require from dusk till dawn you are constantly harassed while sunbathing and no is not the answer that these people understand when you say no they look at you in a manner that makes you feel frightened and intimidated, my family and other guests were very scared although security was good [1 security guard]I would never go back to negril again the locals live in shacks on the beach [yards] this makes it impossible to walk along the beach e.g. I was surrounded by 3 of the locals 2 ladies 1 man who were selling weed when I said no they became very agressive and rude this behaviour happens to everyone who attempts to walk along the beach .my advice is to stay in a 4/5***** complex(long bay)rather than staying in a 2/3*** complex were we stayed in norman manley boulevard from the moment you you walk the street you are followed , harassed,to buy drugs on leaving this sleaze pit we were followed by 4 of the locals demanding money in a agressive and menacing manner it was terifying.guests had been attacked by 4 locals coming from a disco when we found out at breakfast the next morning it was terifying and it could have been us it made my blood run cold.If you into drugs this holiday maybe for you,but for us and others it was holiday nightmare.
