Shaw Park Beach Hotel Reviews

This was our first visit to Jamaica, and both my husband and I had a fantastic time. We would definatley recommend a stay at Shaw Park, it is without doubt the best hotel we have visited abroad, the location is beautiful, the staff are lovely and the food is excellent.

We were ";all inclusive";, and we didnt want for anything. All drinks were included including branded spirits. All the meals were three course, with a wide choice from the menu, and the staff catered for our every need. Our accomodation was lovely, we literally stepped out of our room onto the beach. The hotel is situated in a bay on a private beach, with various watersports included. We would go back tomorrow. Anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location, with everything included, look no further.

I booked a remarkably cheap last minute holiday to Jamaica and ended up at the Shaw Park Beach Hotel.

The Hotel is a 2 hour transfer from Montego Bay. This was excellent as it poured with torrential rain along the coast road and all the roads were flooded. All good fun.

The Hotel is just brillant. There were around 30 guests all week - and about 30 staff pampering to every need.

Free Drinks, endless cocktails - no problem - anything you like ! Appleton Rum as the local brand can't be bad.

The staff are superb, the rooms so good its probably the best place I have ever stayed.

The beach is usually deserted - three people on the beach when its busy - just a few feet from the Hotel. Superb for swimming if you don't mind a few sharks (only kidding).

All rooms with a superb sea view.

What more can I say - if you go - for gods sake - don't tell anyone else about this place !!!!

We stayed here for 10 days in one of the Suites. The suite was fantastic it was huge and the patio doors led straight onto the beach which was brilliant.
The maid service and the restaurant staff were excellant.

But the front desk staff were absolutly USELESS I have never meet such an imcompetent bunch.
How the hotel management can get them to represent this hotel is shocking.
Everytime we reported a fault nothing was done we had to either go up to reception or call them at least three times before anything was done.

The public Internet was down so we reported it we was told Cable and Wireless was coming to fix it. The next day we went to use it and it still wasnt working went and reported again waited till that evening. Called the front desk was told it working get to the room it not working went back to the front desk they then said we can use one in office went in they then realised the office one wasnt working.
They did not realise that the whole system was down this took them two days to work this out.
Be careful when you use your credit card to book they had made some major mistakes ensure you check and request list of deductions that are made.

Shaw park botanical gardens is not on sight it is about 10 minute drive away.
There is hardly any enterntainment and the disco looks like the inside of a brothel.
There is NO daily activities, No excercise classes.
We NEVER saw the Tennis Court.

The Gym is a disgrace and a health hazard the running machine is so old and rusty it got wires sticking out. The free weights are filthy, the whole room smells terrible and has a few wasps nests.
When you book a taxi to take you into town the hotel rips you off to go for a 5 minute journey cost us £11.
Dont buy phonecard from the gift shop they sell is for JS$300 but it only has JS$100 worth of credit on it.
In fact dont buy anything from the gift shop it cheaper when you go in town
There a Post Office in town get it from there.

It states all inclusive but it was not a buffett we had to order from menus for the first 3 days.
There is nothing at this hotel if you are planning a wedding or special occasion and the staff who are associated with this dont seem to know what they are doing.

We went to look at Sunset Jamaica Grande although we didnt stay there we had the grand tour and was very very impressed.
The rooms were small but they are building Cabanas which led straight onto the beach.
The front desk staff there were very professional, friendly and willing to go the extra mile for guests.

Shaw Park is a place to go if you want incompetent, unprofessional,unreliable people caring for you while you are on holiday.
