Alderney (French: Aurigny; Auregnais: Aoeur'gny) is the most northerly of the Channel Islands and a British Crown dependency and part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The island is five kilometers (3 mi) long and two and a half kilometers (1.5 mi) wide for a total area of eight square kilometers (3 sq.mi). Alderney is around sixteen kilometers (10 mi) from France, thirty two kilometers (20 mi) to the north-east of Guernsey and ninety-seven kilometers (60 mi) from the south coast of England. Alderney is separated from Cap de la Hague by the dangerous currents of La Raz.
Alderney has a population of 2400 people, and they are traditionally nicknamed vaques after the cows, or else lapins after the many rabbits seen in the island. The only parish of Alderney is the parish of St Anne which covers the whole island.
The main town, St. Anne, features an imposing, pretty church and a cobbled high street. There is a primary school, a secondary school, and a post office as well as hotels, restaurants, banks and shops.

Jersey is a wonderful island and suprises await around every corner. I was very impressed by the range of things to do to suit all tastes and moods, from the very cosmopolitan St. Helier and It's Michelin Starred Restaurants (Try Bohemia, rated 17th Best in the World!) to quaint fishing villages and tea rooms and everything in between, all in a very compact area and a short flight from Mainland UK. Recommend for couples and familes.

Jersey has something to attract all ages - from stressfree strolls along the seafront to the nightlife in St Helier. Food can be as expensive as you want it to - just seek out the value for money pubs and restaurants, there are plenty out there! Seafood is served at it's best in Jersey, it's worth the air fair for that alone.

Jersey review
"A charming-ish little island"
resort to a friend
Certainly lots to see and do, whether you like historical sites, beaches, panoramic views, gardens, zoos, shopping. No need to get bored here. We drove around with a little hire car and I think this is a good way to travel around. One or two great views that stay with me, especially those from castles or fortified areas looking out to sea. Other highlights were the tunnels left by the Germans in World War 2, and a castle that is cut off at high tide and requires access by amphibious vehicle. My best memories are probably eating fresh lobster with Jersey potatoes in a fairly unpretentious place we almost dismissed as being too pokey looking.

St Martin is a rural, quiet resort. Its very pretty, with lots of winding country lanes and beaches near by within easy reach. The Royal public house is a good place to eat, but gets very busy so you have to get there early. St Helier is within easy reach and there is an excellent bus service.

Plenty of shops, if teens like shopping. HMV was cheeper for Ipod than UK. If using car, one way system is a nightmare at first and map is essential. Victorian market is worth a visit. The war tunnels interested our teens as well as Gorey castle.

"Lovely Island Fit for a Day Out or more"
resort to a friend
Jersey is a great place to spend your holidays. If you are looking for an enjoyable holiday or short break then you need look no further than here.
Nestled like a child in the arms of its mother, Jersey lies in the bay formed by the West Coast of Normandy and the North Coast of Brittany. Further South than Paris, the island benefits from the continental climate. While retaining its British character the island has a strong French flavour. Climate, beauty charm and a warm friendliness, all combine to ensure your visit will be a lasting treasure.
A continuous programme of events runs year long, suiting all ages and tastes, ensuring there is always plenty to see and do.

Guernsey review
"A Great Break in Guernsey"
resort to a friend
Guernsey is a place to admire the Scenery and the relaxed way of life not a place for Theme parks or the like, The Island has some wonderul walks both on the cliffs and on the flat, the beaches are Very good, clean and not crowded.
Food in the Island is well above average and there is a huge choice with many fresh seafood dishes you would expect on an Island.
There is a good Bus service and very cheap although a car is probably the best way to go.

Overall Jersey is well worth a visit, the only thing is, if you drive to Jersey I should imagine the parking around St Helier and all the coastal resorts are at a premium in summer, there is a payment method using scratch cards , they work out at £1.00 per hour minimum with limited times, ie 1 hr 2 hrs 4 hrs. on some parking areas it works out at £2.00 per hour. From experience if you can, go off peak, the roads are quite good also its a beatiful island with a good interesting history. You must visit the war tunnels and also the pallot steam museum good value attractions. as is Durrells zoo. the tour was booked with condorbreaks .com via travelsmith tour company

If you are interested in getting out and about, 3 days in Jersey would be more than enough! If you want to lie in the Sun for a week or more, the island has more than it's fair share of good beaches.

Relaxing holiday destination which is clean and friendly. Good bus service in the main all based from St Helier out to all of the main tourist attractions. The Durrell Wildlife trust is an excellent day out especially for young children and there are plenty of historical sites.
