We arrived in Hong Kong on the last part of our holiday (We had just been to Singapore, Sydney, Port Douglas). It was just getting dark when we arrived and this is definitely the best time to see Hong Kong. The lights are just wonderful.

We arrived in Hong Kong on the last part of our holiday (We had just been to Singapore, Sydney, Port Douglas). It was just getting dark when we arrived and this is definitely the best time to see Hong Kong. The lights are just wonderful.
We arrived at our hotel and could not believe how good it was.It was 4* but seemed more like 5*. We were given an upgrade to these fabulous rooms with harbour views and offered complimentary cocktails in the bar.Our hotel was connected to a massive shopping complex with over 700 shops, we had never seen anythig like it.We only had one night here so we quickly changed and headed to the night market. This is really not to be missed. What a fabulous place to shop. So many bargains it was amazing.
Next day we went on our pre-booked city tour. First we headed to Victoria Peak. What a view from the top. Next was Stanley Market, another fab place for bargains. In the afternoon we were taken on a Junk, that was just fantastic and one of my highlights. A little old chinese lady steering the boat in and out of hundreds of house boats. You really get to see how the other half live. As we were leaving that evening we headed for the 700 shops off our hotel, then to a restaurant to try real Hong Kong food, we even went back to the night market with 10mins to spare before our taxi took us to the airport.
We all loved Hong Kong and definitley made the most of the short time we had there. The people are really friendly and the place is just so interesting.If you like shopping for bargains this is the place to go. We would all love to go back, next time with an empty suitcase!
