My family and I stayed in Hong Kong en route to Australia ( just returned yesterday 16 August) and had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Harbour View hotel.
It is rated as a 4 star hotel and bearing in mind that the standard of hotels in Hong Kong are very high this is an indication of the quality available here! First of all I would sate that the location of the hotel is ideal being located in Wanchai just behind the Convention centre right next to the Star Ferry and with stunning views over Victoria Harbour and over to Kowloon.
The view was so good that each day I simply gazed out of the picture windows ( ie floor to ceiling ) and watched the hustle and bustle below - highly recomneded.The International Buffet in the Renaissance Harbour View is very cheap and extremely tasty and would be my top tip for a reasonable meal in the evening.The breakfasts too are outstandingly ggod. There are numerous local restaurants and cafes both nearby in Wan Chai or further afield and each hotel in Hong Kong has it's own high quality restaurant. You can't really go wrong as all tastes are catred for. Another good point to note with the Renaissance Harbour View is it's excellent large swimming pool located on the 11th floor and which is shared with the neighbouring Grand Hyatt hotel.
The final good selling point for this hotel is the staff who are extremely friendly , efficient and courteous - the management and sattff of this hotel are just abot the best I have encountered in my fairly extensive travels and in my opinion I would award this hotel 5 stars !
