This hotel is beyond a doubt the new standard in luxury and excellence in hospitality. Every coorner of the facility is spotless and the staff has been in training well before the hotel opened. Just 3 minutes' walk from Expo entrance 4.

I would recommend you to watch the 1987 film Empire of the Sun before visiting Shanghai. There are a lot of western building built at the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century. You will find endless choice of food, and I wish my stomach is 10 times bigger to try every food they have on offer.

Shanghai is really easy to get around. There are plenty of taxis (but they are a bit more expensive then in the rest of China) and a very efficient metro system. There are so many sights to see. The Shanghai museum is certainly worth a visit, along with the Old City, the French Concession area and of course the Bund. The shopping is excellent. Spent 2 days there which just wasn't long enough

Shanghai is a 21st Century party town. It has an unending array of plush clubs aimed at China's nouveau riche.

It is highly urbanised and smoggy and doesn't have too many attractions other than as a centre for business and partying.

Shanghai is the modernest city in china with lots of places of interests, which is really worthy to stay. The weather was fine when I was there, and people there are very friendly. The problem was lots of people on the street.

The oriental pearl tower is a spectacular sight at night. Its got 3D lighting and looks wonderful. its the 3rd tallest tv tower in the world. Its one of the most popular tourist spots with a set of long queues. The best time to visit it is at night. The view from above is spectacular and the glass flooring on the observation deck is a fabulous experience. It is another must see attraction in Shanghai.

This promenade is the other side of Huangpu where the Bund Promenade is located. You get a view of the Bund from the other side of the river. It's good for taking a stroll and dining places are everywhere. It is also near the convention and exhibit halls of Pudong and walking distance to Superbrand Mall.

There is quite a lot to see and so in Shanghai so plan ahead and take more than a couple of days.

Shanhainese food is amazing and cheap so you can try plenty off the menu. Be adventurous you might just find your favourite dish just don't expect westernised chinese food - expect much, much better!

It is all right resort for a couple to spend a week. The scene is nice and service is all right. But i would not go second time. It needs more improvement in my point of view.

My first impression of Shanghai wasnt fantastic as the area that we were first in there was alot of construction happening, we soon found out that this is becuase they have a big expo there next year so they are re-building and re-vamping the city in time for this. We were only there for 24 hours but there is plenty to do and see (we went to see the acrobats, a traditional garden and visited the new part at night during our short trip) and it is relativley easy to get around too. Going over to see the big skyscrapers at night is a must do as they are all lit up and look fantastic, though bear in mind that they turn the lights off quite early (about 9:15ish)

When I think of Shanghai, I think of The Bund on the Pu-Xi side looking across at the Disney'esque future world of Pu-Dong. This was the first spot that I hit when I arrived in Shanghai and have to say the view lived up to my expectations and left me in awe. The view is almost surreal and personally, I can stare at it for hours. Maybe cause I'm a techie and love that kind of stuff. I love modern. But I also love history and if you walk south, you can get a good view of the old Pu-Xi side and take some good pictures with the old buildings. The Pu-Dong side is nice too. Some nice restaurants there and I had dinner at one of them. Great view at night and more photo ops.

Excellent city and there's lots to keep you entertained. You should definitely get a glimpse of the city from the Shanghai teletower. More importantly, enjoy the food - with good value budget canteens around.

There's even a nearby Jazz cafe and excellent drinking venues. For students, the Time Passage is worth a visit - a bar in the French concession.

This is a mini haven in the midst of Shanghai where the restaurants have non-local food and non-local visitors and no one offering to sell you a fake Prada or Rolex!! I ate at a Churrasco, Latina, for dinner and the food and service were great and the price reasonable. Now I'd eaten a lot of local food during my China trip but having something a bit different that reminded me of home was a welcome adventure my last night.

There are several bars and restaurants with music playing and people just hangin' out having a good time ... and if you must you can shop in Shanghai Tang until 9pm.
