We have been visiting Grand Canaria for many years and normally have stayed in Maspalonas an area which we have always been happy with. It was therefore with some apprehension that we booked the Hotel Eugene Victoria in Playa del Ingles.

We were more then pleasantly surprised, the hotel is situated on the outskirts of the centre, and the beach is approximately a fifteen minute walk away, for those who do not wish to walk there is a regular courtesy bus provided by the hotel.

We found without exception the staff to be courteous and helpful and the standard of cleanliness in the hotel good.

The food was excellent and plentiful, all meals in the main dining room were buffet style, with a wide selection of different foods to choose from. We had booked half board but on arrival found that for a further 15 euros a day each, we could go fully inclusive, this included a full buffet lunch, all snacks, icecreams, hot and cold drinks, including many named brands. This was well worth the extra.

There is an outside bar and seating area and each evening the resident duo played and sang many popular tunes, if you like dancing this was the place to be. If you don't dance it was quite entertaining watching others.
There was also evening entertainment provided inside the hotel, the standard of which did fluctuate.

The majority of the guests staying at the hotel while we were there tended to be in our age group and most were European.

The swimming pool, and outside areas were kept very clean with an army of cleaners attacking the area each morning.
There were plenty of sunbeds, and many shades but perhaps not enough for everyone all of the time.

We would certainly return.
