If you want to experience the real Bulgaria then visit Sozopol. Avoid Sunny Beach unless you want Blackpool in the sun. Sozopol is like an old fashioned seaside resort with traditional bars, shops, market stalls and small fairground rides etc. Eating out is so cheap and there is plenty of choice. The ice-cream is fantastic too. Beach was clean and not too busy for August. Watch out for jelly fish though. You can catch a local bus to Bourgas which is worth a visit, nice park, shops etc. You can also catch buses to other popular beach resorts. Visist Sozopol we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely return.
