There's a fantastic sea view from most (if not all) rooms and it's very close to the Atlantic Ocean. There is a promenade along the seafront, accessible via a secure gate from the hotel, which is very pleasant to walk along especially after dinner in the evening and can be quite dramatic when it's windy and the waves crash onto the rocks. The climate in Madeira was sunny & warm but not too hot, though quite windy here on many days even it wasn't in other parts of the island.
Madeira is a beautiful island with lush, green scenery and mountains. There is an element of peace and tranquillity about it as the locals are generally relaxed and laid back. It is worth exploring the island and if you get the chance, try and go for a levada walk and visit the highest mountain peaks - a good way to see and feel the real Madeira.
