Hotel Lumbarda Reviews

We have just returned from an absolutely fantastic holiday in Korcula. Never heard of it? No neither had we but its one of the most scenic islands ive have ever visited.

Hubby informed me that he fancied going away for his birthday and wanted an 'active' holiday!! Booked our first Neilson holiday - what a difference.

The transfer by coach was 3 hours then approx 20 mins by boat (a bit off putting) believe me it was worth every minuite! The scenenery is breathtaking and when you finally arrive at Lumbarda you see why it was necessary to travel so far - It is the most unspoilt and uncommercialised place I have visited.

The Neilson staff are great and very helpfull, there is pleanty to keep you busy including dinghy sailing, mountain biking, canoeing, snorkelling and of course pleanty to eat and drink. The Town of Korcula is approx 20 mins away and is very pretty and well worth a visit. There are pleanty of bars, cafe's and retaurants and a small market.

There are a few local restaurants in Lumbarda which all produce excellent food. I can recommend Mores which is a fish restaurant overlooking the bay - had shark steak there it was beautifull they also sold meats if your not keen on fish.

Can also recommend a pittzeria called Ninas or was in Minas cant remember but also a wonderfull setting and enourmous pitza.

If your counting the pennies then get the but into town and dont dring in the hotel - not that expensive but you can get cheaper elsewhere.

Flew with Croatia airlines and they were great - more leg room than normal.

The weather was excellent - in the 30's however we were told that in the early part of June it was raining with thunderstorms.

I can highly recommend Neilson holidays and Korcula and hope to return there soon.
