The resort is quiet but with spectacular views. There are watersports and a small beach. Trips to the islands available locally. A couple of nights we decided to try out some local restaurants and were not disappointed. The Croatian people are lovely and very welcoming.

"Pretty and picturesque"
Overall Resort Rating:
A very pretty, old town with a lovely harbour. The place is litter free and kept immaculately clean. No signs of any trouble while we were there and we didn't see a policeman or a patrol car. Beach is shingle and the sea is crystal clear. Plenty of places to eat but they all seem to serve the same food to varying degrees of variety, quality and price. A main meal for two with drinks averaged about £20. People in shops, supermarkets and restaurants can be abrupt, rude and surly. And if they are happy in their work they ought to let their faces know. However, full marks to the Romana coffee house and the XXL Pizzeria and Restaurant (on the souvenir market) who served decent fare at reasonable prices and the staff were always pleasant and welcoming.

Tucepi review
"An attractive quiet resort"
resort to a friend
Tucepi isn't somewhere to go if you want a busy nightlife, wall-to-wall British bars showing Eastenders and drunken bar crawls (thankfully). It's not over-developed and has a quiet charm; there were as many Croatian holiday makers there as there were from the UK, Germany, etc, which is a good sign. With the Biokovo mountain range towering behind the resort and the crystal clear sea washing the pebbled beach, that runs the length of the resort, it is an idyllic location. There isn't a lot of choice if you want to eat out, as most of the small restaurants offer a limited and similar selection. If you want choice, eat at the hotel, as the food there is excellent. The hotel also has an arrangement where you can swap a meal in the hotel for a 6 course meal at a very nice local restaurant on one night - I can recommend it as the food there was great.
From Tucepi you can walk round the coast to the neighbouring resort of Podgora (about 30 mins) or up to Makarska (about an hour I think), if you're feeling more adventurous. You can also walk up into the mountains behind the resort. If you hire a car you can drive to Dubrovnik in a couple of hours or Mostar in Bosnia (alternatively there are plenty of arranged trips if you don't fancy driving).
The beach, like most on the Dalmation coast, is pebbled rather than sand and, like the rest of the resort, it is very clean. There are watersports available but these aren't instrusive if you just want to relax on the beach.
In summary, Tucepi is an unspoiled small resort and an ideal place to relax in beautiful surroundings. It's not somewhere to go for lively nights out but unless that's what you're looking for you won't be disappointed.
