Dalmacija Hotel Reviews

Croatia is beautiful and the area around Makarska particularly so. The town of Markarska is bordered by the millpond like Adriatic and the stunning Biokovo mountains, the islands of Brac and Hvar are clearly visible and easily reachable via a short boat trip.

The Dalmacija hotel is nothing much to look at from outside, it's rooms are basic but very clean and have balconys that give fantastic views whichever side of the building you are on, the food is basic but of good quality (and it's so cheap to eat out anyway - £3.50 for an exellent pizza, that you really do have the choice even with Half Board.
There is a very good selection of places to eat and drink in the town that really do offer value for money (approx £1.10 a pint, £5-12 for decent bottle of wine).

The resort is about an hours or so drive from Split, this drive will show you the ugliest parts of the city but don't be put off, it has much more to offer if you decide to take a trip there. Dubrovnik is further away, we went on a day trip - 3.5 hours on the coach! This was a long day but the views taken in during the journey were truly stunning and city is beautiful, think I'd do it with a nights stop over next time though.
