Only bogey we found was the fact that if you book the (partial) sea-view room, which we did through Portland, it does mean you are in the disco block which is wall-thumpingly noisy until 1130 nightly. That did not suit us. The hotel was happy to move us but we tackled Portland (who were completely dismissive) for failure to advise of this in the brochure. Had they done so we would not have gone for the sea-view. In all other respects the holiday was fine.
Good points:
All staff are pleasant and helpful.
Clean and well maintained.
Half board food is good and best I have seen anywhere really.
Havana bar(run by Sacha)within the hotel has great cocktails and staff are friendly and very attentive....

Porec itself is a lovely town, lots of nice bars/restaurants along the marina. Prices are reasonable.
Torre Rotunda is a cool bar inside a tower
Go on the trip to Venice(if you have euros at home take them and then you can use them on this trip) but you can probably do it a lot cheaper on your own.
Bad points:
Hotel decor is dated.
Not enough sun loungers around the pool.
Entertainment caters for the more mature person.
The hotel itself seems to cater mainly for Germans and Italians (not a prob unless you like to make friends with other English people on holiday!)
Overall, we had a good time and the only real let down was the weather which was very changeable for this time of year. However, the flight itself is under 2 hours so it is a bit of a trade off.
We booked this holiday with 48 hrs notice via the internet. Everything worked out well although thought that the £15 late booking fee was rather steep as it was per person!

The hotel was very good and kept clean and tidy. The bedrooms were a little dated but adequate. The weather was very hot for the whole week - about 34 degrees on average. There were not that many Brits there, mainly Germans. Also not very many children but that was not a problem. There is a kids club and sporting activities arranged every day - water polo, volleyball, football etc. The evening entertainment was varied - a mixture of magic shows, beauty pageants, resident band and even Elvis! Don't sit near the front of the stage if you don't want to participate!!
One of the best things for us was the food - buffet style but definately something for everyone. Even the fussiest of children would find some food that was ok. Came home with a few extra pounds but well worth the rest for all Mums out there.
Also drinks are free - local beer and wine and juices.
We took the BBQ boat trip which wasn't actually a bbq! Had a nice meal at a restaurant and time to kill to wander around the Rovinj. Also went to Lim Fjord which was a little disappointing. This was one of the cheapest trips on offer but still quite expensive for a family of five - about £80. (Children are classed as 11 and under!).
Overall we had a really good time and would definately go back some day. It was a shame that the swimming pool was salt water but you got used to it after a while.
The coast is very picturesque and unusual with rock platforms and very clear warm water - great for snorkelling.
It is a nice walk from the hotel to Porec or you can take the Noddy train which runs every half hour or so. Eating out was cheap and ice creams only 40p!!!
Our first trip to Croatia but not our last!

Room in hotel was basic, plaster pealing off in bathroom, shower attachment not fantastic however the rest of the hotel was good, especially the food, loved it, very fresh, a lot of choice, it changed my mind about staying 1/2 board as usually like to dine out.
Went with my elderly parents, they loved the holiday, very peaceful. Not a place to go if you want a really lively holiday!
Eating out very cheap - £5 for a meal.
Croatian's very friendly
A lot of Germans about, in fact more than English.
Took a boat trip to Venice cost £41 which was good... take Euros if you want to do this!
Bit of a rushed note, hope it helps!
I certainly had a lovely time and have no regrets about choosing either the hotel or the resort for our holiday.
An interesting place.
