Historically there is a lot to see in Paphos, I just wish the locals would show more attention to their own historical sites. The food is mainly English with some Greek food that is of good quality. Avoid the chinese and Indian restaurants. Tomatoes locally are the best i have ever tasted in The Med!

A bit non descript really. Took the open top bus tour and it was dreadful. Took us past hotels, water park and mini golf. Saw a few historical sites, but not worth the time or money. Just very disappointing really.

The nearest beach was about 20 minute drive away, the nearest BAY was 10 mins walk away,it was quite a small bay but still quite nice, we did find a nicer bay which was down the same road the bus stop was on. we took a bus into the main part of protaras to fig tree bay which was more of a beach than the one nearer to the amore hotel. The cost of food and drink was reasonable, we went to a chnese restaurant just down the road whch was good value and really nice food!! There isn't a huge range of place to eat out in walkin distance (although it says the amore apartments are in protaras, it is more paralmni) it was a very very quiet part. There wasn't really any night life close to the hotel, it is deffinatly more a location for not doing anything apart from sunbathing and doing nothing. We did find an aqaurium about half an hour walk from the hotel (just past the roundabout) it was 11 euros each to get in which was abit of expensive i thought, it was kind of like a very mini tycross zoo, good for the little ones though. Apart from the aqaurium there wasn't really anything else to do apart from go to one of the bays or sit at a bar, unless you are willing to travel bout half an hour or so to get to the main part of protaras where we found loads more things to do and see. Overall i think its not a bad resort to go, i would recomend it if you want a super basic holiday with no night life, nothing to do and just sunbathing the whole time. Next time we go to Cyprus we will defo be stayin in the main part of proparas and not paralimni.

Really boring resort unfortunately. Only one restaurant around without taking a bus or taxi which is the Blue Spice which is very nice but a one off as very pricey. No night life really, except an Only Fools and Horses bar, which is good. Unfortunately didnt enjoy the holiday due to resort, booked 2 weeks, tried to get flights home after 6 days but were unable. We are a young couple and think its our own mistake but if your looking for a relaxed holiday or are an elderly couple and are also only going for 1 week might be ideal.

Kapparis review
"Protaras Property Edessa Apartment"
resort to a friend
This resort is quite near to Paralimni which is a fair sized town but we much prefer Nissi Beach and Ayia Napa area - there are a couple of beaches in Kapparis but the one nearest to the apartments was very small and always packed. There were very few restaurants to choose from but we had a car, so we usually went further afield. At least our grand-daughters enjoyed it and had a great time in the pool. We certainly will not be going back.

Far too many expats ruin this place. Shipanis supermarket prices are extortionate. We decided to eat in one night - a standard frozen pizza from Shipanis supermarket - 6.25Euros, the same pizza in Asda about £1.50. Aparently, there are cheaper supermarkets in Paralimni. A lot of people from the southeast of England have settled in Kapparis and they all seem to know each other. The expats were not at all welcoming. Fireman's beach is lovely, though very crowded in August. Some nice places to eat in Kapparis, the best we tried were The Lounge and Just Italian. Worth a visit are Kennedy's, Pig and Whistle (huge portions) and Wooden Crest. Karas was extremely disappointing as the waiters were all surly and we expected a traditional Greek welcome. The Lounge is the place to be - with some good entertainment with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Taxis to Protaras 12 Euros, worth going to Anatolias which is the best restaurant we have used and very reasonably priced - it is always busy and it's not hard to see why! We had a good holiday thanks to Diego at The Lounge and a handful of other friendly people we met in resort. We had to spend more than we had planned because everywhere was so expensive.

Ayia Napa review
"Excellent Holiday at Aeneas"
resort to a friend
Didn't like Aiya Napa sorry. Walked in (about 45mins) a few times but thought it was dirty and unpleasant. Bar after bar and very busy. Roads to and around centre area busy and loud with loads of idiots on scotters, quads etc.. Nissi beach is just across the raod from the Aeneas and is very busy but nice if you use it before the youngsters get there to pose, usually by mid day. Only prob was and apparently it has never had the problem until this year was the seaweed that came in sometimes with the tide. Water sports on Nissi were good and well managed. Other nice beaches close by and quieter. Theres a very good Japanese resturant on the way into Aiya Napa where the food is good and they cook the food in front of you which kids love. Also told there a good restaurant called Los Lobos that friends of ours tried and liked.
