Loads of bars/restaurants/shops on the main strip. Try the Sfinx for entertainment which is right at the top end, a different act every night and pretty cheap beer/cocktails too.
The beaches are just wonderful nut watch the sand for burning your feet. I went parasailing whilst there and it was great fun and we all went on a boat trip up to Famagusta which was very informative.
Give it a try - we loved it!!

This is not a town to do much shopping,no main shoping street, and in June they shut at 7pm. The harbour is the main drinking and eating area, where you can sit and watch the boats and there is a large castle at the far end. This is ok if you like local music, and relaxing.

Protaras review
"Nice selection of bars and restaurants"
resort to a friend
Protaras is very built up with many hotels and bars. Our particular favourites were Friends bar and Rockafellas (always lively with entertainment) Food was very expensive as we had expected and cocktails with a decent amount of alcohol in would cost 5 euros. The food selection was generally the same at most restaurants, but we found eratos had the nicest servers and qualty food.

So glad we chose Limassol. It is not touristy like Paphos - 'real' people live and work there so you get a better idea of the island and the people. Dejuner restaurant on the main road that follows the coast is good value and the food is excellent and plentiful. Many lovely places within easy driving distance. Go up to the Troudos mountains, it's lovely and cooler than the coast. If you like archeology you must see Kourion, it's wonderful. Ladies' Mile beach is possibly one of the most boring beaches I have ever had the misfortune to visit. Aphrodite's Rock is a lovely beach so long as you don't mind not having a sun lounger.

Nice quiet area but within easy walking distance of the lively area of Protaras. Lovely beach with lots of sun beds and umbrellas which are owned by the local council. 2 diving schools in the bay plus other water activities like para gliding, jet skies etc

Protaras review
"Protaras - Resort for everyone"
resort to a friend
Protaras is a brilliant resort which has something for everyone. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Lots of bars - some quiet and chilled and some late bars with discos and karaoke.
The beach is gorgeous in particular Fig Tree Bay - watersports for those who want them.

The resort is fantastic, great resturants, bars, shops, gift shops etc. Good bus srevice, which runs regularly to Aiya Napa to the brilliant Water World!! a great day out. You can hire a car locally, and travel round the little villages, seeing how the locals live. There are great trips available, locally also, Vist Famagusta, the turkish area of Cyprus, or the divided capital of Nicosia, plus many more. Weve previously also taken a trip over to Eygpt which was absoulutle brilliant. Protaras has something for everyone, young families, families with older children, couples,.. everyone.

Far to much building work is going on, the whole island is being spoilt, its about time the goverment stepped in and stopped all the houses been build there are hundreds empty all over the island I have been going to Cyprus for many years so has all my family and I feel it is changing for the worse. The night life is not very good I have seen some awfull acts/singers in the pubs maybe they will pick up later on in the season.

Paphos review
"Bit Pricey - but still great to visit"
resort to a friend
Paphos itself is a bit on the pricey side, nice to get out and about but we ended up upgrading to all inclusive for 2nd weeks which cost €200 per adult and €100 per child. Mayfair Apartments is about 15 min walk to port which if you take the right road (left out of hotel, right at end and straight over crossroads and keep going) you pass some really nice restaurants (Othellos had to be the best)

Ayia Napa in awesome resort. Something for everyone. The beaches are by far the best in the Med. If the exchange rate improves maybe the prices wouldnt seem expensive, although we thought it was worth every penny!

Ayia Napa has something for everyone but since it joined the European market it's very expensive. We went out for meals most nights and the food was lovely but for some reason we didn't get a decent drink in any of the pubs. The beer was disgusting on draught and you could hardly taste the alcohol in the cocktails. Food and drink in supermarkets was very expensive compared to home. The standard charge for taxis was €8 but you could haggle to get them cheaper. The bus was cheaper at €1.50. When you go on holiday you don't expect to worry about money but on this holiday we did. Everything is more expensive compared to the UK. I would only go back to Cyprus if the euro picks up or they start charging less for food and drink. During the recession I recommend having a holiday at home or go somewhere that has not joined the European market.

You can catch a bus to Coral Bay for E1.50 dont get off until you see a very large sign saying Coral Bay as bus driver doesnt help you and we got off too soon. We spent E48.00 on a half day cruise on the Ocean Flyer, it takes you to Coral Bay and back stopping off for swimming etc. the lunch was poor with just bread rolls cut up with a bit cheese on etc and some fruit. there was free soft drinks, cocktails, hot drinks and local beer as much as you could drink. It is nice on board, sort of posh. Not much entertainment in paphos itself unless you want to get drunk. Splash bar just off harbour and bar street has tribute singers on and hypnotist etc which was entertaining. plenty of places to eat and we had lovely meals which cost no more than up to E20 each including drink. We came back with euros - you can get by on E40 to E60 a day thats with meals and drinks all day. but not if you are a massive drinker as vodka red bull, and pints of strongbow were E4.50 each. There is a fair ground on the road to the municipal beach. it is 10 mins from shops and bar street. Never go pestered by ticket touts or scratch card jerks once.
